  1. Skidder1 It has obviously been a lot more difficult than planned to get that last rider so plans & ideas may have had to be reviewed and amended. However i am sure it will become clear very soon, If the team has the riders in it that I expect to be in it should make Leicester fans very happy. I made a quick visit to the track a couple of weeks when in Leicester for the Rugby and looked like some extra work had taken place although I think the tractor lives on the startline now for security.
  2. Don't worry there is plans to add at least one more meeting in to the opening few weeks, As far as I know it's just waiting on clubs to check stadium and rider availability. As others have said there is also some concern about the early weeks of the season with the weather hopefully there will be more meetings later in the year for the race to the Playoffs. The scheduling is not helped by the GP as there is a few weeks ruled out altogether as they have back to back GPs its been agreed not to run during these weeks and obviously lose a couple of weeks with WTC
  3. The wheels are already in motion I hear to find a new sponsor on a nice positive note the last remaining rider will hopefully be confirmed later this week all being well
  4. Incognito I think you can cross Kylmakorpi off the list of riders not in the elite league as it seems he may be off to Leicester Eagles to join up with Bjarne and Mikkelson. I am sure others on the list will also feature in Poole's side and others will be brought into clubs soon into the season.
  5. I am not sure if Garrity can join Glasgow or not as I thought there was a ruling that elite league clubs were not able to have both fast track riders from the same premier league team. This was to prevent clubs having to have two guests at reserve Obviously James Sargeant is already signed up at Glasgow & Coventry
  6. Volty I am sure you know that those stands are not officially called them names they are just names that guy on the centre green calls them. Although Dave Darcy I am sure has invested many thousands in the club hence him being a Co Promotor
  7. I have heard threre is also a legal reason why the supporters have to pay to have the stand named after Dennis, I believe it is tied into the deal they did to sell the naming rights of the stadium to Jordan's Road surfacing back in 2013 as they said they would have sole rights. I am sure that there will be some money invested back into the facilities and in my view it would be better for the money to be spent on putting a new roof on the home straight grandstand as that is now rather weathered and has holes in it. I would have a guess that more fans may donate if they sit in the stands as would get a direct benefit:
  8. Last season Klindt was a lot better for Leicester in the Elite league than he was for Scunthorpe. I think he would have possibly been back at Leicester this year if looking for 5pt rider but would be silly the waste 1.7 of the team limit Wolves seem to be in a similar position to Leicester they don't want to complete the team until they know what riders Poole are making available this year
  9. I don't think the Buzz deal is totally dead yet as the rider was very keen to return and Leicester made him an offer when he was over for the dinner dance. The problem is when he came over last season Leicester were really struggling and trying to avoid the wooden spoon so they gave him a very favourable deal to attract him. However having seen his performances there has got to be some concern about his away performances and his form at Leicester when the track is a bit grippy so have likely offered him what they think he is worth and they can afford.
  10. At the minute Leicester's options seem to be being held up with the Poole/Darcy Ward situation as they have riders who may or may not be in their side some of which would be good option for Leicester. It has of course been complicated further in the last 48hrs with the visa situation so more clubs could be looking for options.
  11. Kylmakorpi is not likely to be an option at Leicester due to the World Long track GP championship, As he is planning on riding in that which normally operates on the opposite weekends to the Speedwy GP so that would clash with lots of Leicester fixtures. Leicester are also trying if possible to avoid doubling up riders so there is no fixtures clashes but that may have to change if option A does not come off. I think JK will sit out the start and wait for team changes before returning to UK although he may be an option for Swindon if they don't complete on AM
  12. Crazy Robin the possible lack of commitment is one of the reasons that Leicester backed away from AM and went the rider that they have.
  13. Don't panic common sense has prevailed over the East Midlands fixtures as all fans want to see all of their team riding especially at the start of the season.
  14. It looks like the East Midlands bowl meeting at Leicester also clashes with Peterborough's opening meeting against Team GB so what is going to happen if Rosco selects Harris and King ? I would not be surprised if he picks Garrity as well at reserve. Also who gets priority over Simon Lambert on this date Peterborough or Leicester as both challenge matches. I also feel sorry for Rory Schlein as well with these meetings taking riders away from his own already planned and deserved testimonial. 15. Oh LionKing You were told in confidence about this meeting could you not wait for the formal BSPA announcement and press release before telling everybody ?
  16. What a surprise that Swindon release the Bjarne information before Leicester have their event next week I just see it as poor sportsmanship due to the ongoing Doyle situation and another rider turning Swindon down for Leicester
  17. Well common sense has prevailed yet again I do wonder when DH will learn to look after all his customers. Oh dear LionKing looks like you have lost one of your shareholders bonuses maybe you should invest your money into your other team the Miami Heat
  18. Sponsoring Speedway is a good way of ReadyPower using their advirtising budget as well as providing good tax benefits. In comparison if they were to have say a 2.5min tv advert you would look at around £2500 to film and produce budget style upto around £7-10k for HD quality pro version. Then if you said around £5-6000 a time for a slot during Sky Speedway coverage you can see you won't get much for your money on tv adverts. Also ReadyPower biggest customers are the rail infrastructure companies there is some big projects to be done in the next few years with High Speed2,Midland mainline electrification and West Country so they may be looking at a new South West depot too
  19. By all accounts the other club Wolverhampton offered a better deal than Leicester and doesn't mean such a rush to Poland on Sundays. To be honest I have always thought Bjarne was a little boring anyway but is a good gater which is needed around Beaumont park. He would though have been good backup to Doyle oh well move onto next target.
  20. Haha Neb as much as I like Magnus as a rider and a person he is not elite league standard unless you could bring him on a 3.00 average as away from Leicester his scores will not be great.
  21. I am pretty sure that Leicester would not buy AM as he may only do a few weeks over here and then decide to just do Poland and Sweden. I think Leicester may have other options that they are chasing at the minute to add the top end strength that is needed
  22. If Emil is to ride in the UK there could be another club other than Swindon & Poole that have been talking to him about riding for them in 2015 as well. The question who is prepared to meet his demands and will he be worth the money for he clubs.
  23. I have heard that Richie Worrall has signed for an elite league club I wonder if he could be coming to Leicester as unless Somerset drop him he can not go to Coventry or Lakeside due to Fridays ,Swindon will have Morris & Howarth as double up riders,Wolves have other options so I can only see it being Leicester or Poole. Although this is not the signing most fans are waiting on its the no 1 or 2 who is going to score the points along with Doyle.
  24. Tai Woffindens bike actually did go over the fence in heat 15 of the Wolverhampton match which was the big crash he had 24hrs before flying to New Zealand
  25. I wouldn't be worried about Mikel scores around Leicester as looked very stylish and his scoring potential was reduced due to having a big crash. Still need a good solid back up rider for Doyle in my mind that will be the key signing.
