Volty- I am hopeful that Mr Hemsley will have calmed down a bit now and I am sure the comments were just spur of the moment comments. Although I believe that nobody would pay for the whole stadium so there will be no option but to remove all fixtures and fittings, know down the buildings and grass seed plant trees over the area
-
The explanation I was given was that MA need to support the work permit application and that his license number needs to be included on the paperwork so they are unable to do this until the ban is completed. Anyway back to the thread it would be a good signing for Leicester if that move can happen
-
Well SCB the Ward situation is slightly different how it has been explained to me by a trusted source. Darcy cannot have his MA license issued until the day after his ban is finished so that would be the Monday 29th June. He then has to sign contract get all the work permit sponsor paperwork completed then it has all got to send his passport off to get the visa issued which is likely to take at least 3-4 weeks if they approve it he can then look at flying over to Europe.

Volty- You are correct that as lease holder Leicester Speedway are responsible for paying applicable business rates and taxes on Beaumont park. However if DH did decide that enough was enough he could hand the lease back to the council. At which point all the track fixtures and fittings would be removed and the site returned to a grass field. So once this happens that will be the end of it at Leicester unless another promoter wanted to build the stadium again which is very unlikely. This is of course just worst case scenario and hopefully DH will have calmed down and thought of the positives that he has got and tried to find a solution to the team problems. The suggestion of Darcy Ward is good but he can't apply for his work permit until 26/06 then has got to get one approved so you could easily be looking at August by which time most matches will be completed. They need to sign some support for Doyle and also get a replacement in for Walasek if he is out for 8 weeks

No Gemini what I was hearing on Monday was he was so annoyed with it all he was thinking of closing it altogether hopefully that was some just short term disappointment and that he will focus and look at how the club moves forward. We do not need any more clubs closing down especially ones like Leicester which are purpose built and get good crowds. It's obvious that some on here and at the track do not like Mr Hemsley but deep down how many really want the club to close and the track to be lost again. Anybody who thinks DH will go and another promoter will walk in will be very disappointed as he will not just operate the stadium it would be buy everything or nothing.

Leicester V Poole Monday 25/05/15
flagrag replied to SteveLyric2's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It was a good meeting and the result was closer than I suspected considering the Leicester team. Janowski was a different class tonight and if Poole do drop him Leicester will do everything possible to convince him to ride for them for the rest of the season. He is a nice guy as well even though he had Doyle off in HT15 straight away he apologised and could tell it was simply a racing accident. I don't disagree with putting Josh in HT 15 as he was faster than Wozniak and had just won his last ride easily and only got stopped by Dak North doing his usual wild moves. Leicester do desperately need to do something though now Lewis has had 2nd thoughts and Walasek is out for another 6weeks the riders are just not out there so looks like we will be having guests for a while -

The riders explanation I heard is this afternoon he felt that he wasn't ready for a return to team racing and wants more practice time. Everything is in place for him to ride good deal,Equipment, support and open practice whenever he wants. My belief taking his history into consideration is the rider in question went out last night had a few drinks and decided that he wasn't going to ride today as why would you only decide late afternoon on day of meeting when he should have been well on his way to Leicester at that point. -

Zengota is already guesting at Leicester for Walasek on Monday -
Personally I am not sure about Masters and Bridger signings it will only work if Lewis shows his 2014 2nd heat leader form so much pressure on him now. I think Masters for Mikkel is good move we shall have to see how it works out.

Masters can't ride Monday as in GP qualifier so believe the team is not declared until Tues so RR for Bjarne on Monday -
The Lions next signing is crucial and if the intended move does happen it may surprise a few people on why the rider wants to return back to UK racing with Leicester
-
Part of the reason why the Coventry vs Leicester match has been dropped from the Sky schedule is to allow the Lions to race with the new replacement in the team which will make them a stronger and more attractive side. Look out for the live Sky match from Leicester being announced soon just awaiting confirmation of rider availability and also looks like to Lions will be on in Aug away from home
-
As we all know things change very quickly in Speedway the last I heard was that Leicester were looking at making two changes one that is expected and one that will be a surprise. I was also told that one of the signings was subject to a work permit application so if correct would suggest a rider of good quality although this may delay his arrival slightly
-
Not sure who the reserve Tier 1 riders I think it's Ashley Birks and Adam Roynon if it has to drop to tier 2 I would probably go for Adam Ellis
-
What was that rumour then JubileeClip ?
-
Weatherwatcher- I can confirm that you are wrong about Norrie's style of management he is not fing and blinding at riders during the meeting he tries to give active encouragement to them. He has said many times before that he does not mind riders losing races and getting beat as long as they are giving 100% effort and want to ride for the club. Maybe if you are a supporters club member you could be lucky to be drawn out to be supporter of the week and you can then see exactly what is said before and during a meeting to riders
-
LionKing- I dont seem to remember Norrie saying in his interview that Lewis was signing for a PL team as well ? I would have a guess that he could be signing for Sheffield to replace Stead or maybe Peterborough if his average is not too high
-
Lewis has had a practice at Leicester this season on borrowed equipment to see how he felt and whether he wanted to ride again. At the minute that is all there is maybe he will return soon maybe he won't.

Leicester V Coventry 9th May 2015
flagrag replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Bjarne definitely did not quit 5 weeks ago although he did raise some doubts about riding in the UK but nothing to say he was quitting in 5 weeks. Hopefully the signings will all work and Leicester can try to get off the bottom of the Elite league -
Leicester V Coventry 9th May 2015
flagrag replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Bjarne let the club down badly with performances and his attitude as well he packed up and sent his kit home early in the week but yet only informed the club of his decision on Friday. If all goes to plan there will be two new names for the next meeting one of which may be a surprise to some the other I think most will know. -
Leicester V Coventry 9th May 2015
flagrag replied to mdmc82's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
With all the riders missing and the problem in getting guests for Leicester I would not be surprised if this meeting gets called off early in the day if it's wet at all. As the club will be making team changes and cannot take another thrashing at home especially against Coventry just have to wait and see
