Premier League 4's
flagrag replied to allthegearbutnaeidea's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Does anybody know who is in the individual tommorow? -
All will be revealed in the next couple have been waiting on clubs to confirm stadium and rider availability
-
Very disappointed this meeting was off especially as rushed back work from work in Scotland straight from Luton to Leicester get there at 7:20 track looked wet but could have been made race able but riders especially KL ones shown no interest in riding tonight very poor attitude from them. With regards to the refunds my understanding is tickets are valid for future meetings and then at individual clubs discretion whether to offer refunds i personally can't see why at 7:40 when cash still on site they could not offer this back. I do wonder if any customers who brought tickets with a credit or debit card could raise a dispute with their card issuer as I did this before for a concert that got cancelled on the night due to power problems I couldnt attend the restaging so card issuer refunded as services not delivered as promised.

The next selection of Sky sports live matches will hopefully be available early next week maybe even later this week. I have the provisional plans of matches to be broadcast but are awaiting on clubs to confirm rider and stadium availability first as obviously there may be some fixture movement in the run in to the play offs. The main reason there is no match next week is the Speedway production team are also responsible for Sky's Darts coverage so they are all up in Blackpool for the World Match play hence the big advert during the Speedway coverage last night. July also happens to be the end of the budget year at Sky Sports as well and some can be rolled over if any left in the pot 🤓

Coventry V Kings Lynn -monday 11th July - 7.30pm
flagrag replied to NeilWatson's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Joe1986- With regards to Speedway on Sky in 2017 as although there is a contract for next year it all depends on what the promotors finalise with regards to league structure and clubs taking part especially with uncertainties about a few EL clubs like Coventry,Leicester,Swindon and Lakeside -
I don't have BT 4K at home so it would be good if any fans that do have it could record a clip on their phone and then upload it onto You Tube for everybody to see. With regards to comms I understand that the 4K broadcast will use the world feed today as the cameras are side by side so at same angle and unlike football the focus point is close together
-
Don't forget that the British Speedway is available is in brilliant 4K on BT Sport I will be interested to hear what viewers think to it even though it's on the opposition channel.
-
Leicester do a post meeting conference in front of the main stand every week with Norrie and a Leicester rider if a loss and normally the whole team if a win. They did used to get the opposing manager or rider but some wont do it I think this year Jon Cook and Rob Lyons are the only ones who have agreed to it.

Leicester V Coventry Mon 27th June
flagrag replied to stevethelion's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
He just does not seem to think before making decisions, He was already going to have a poor crowd due to the football but he is now making it impossible due to work for some fans who were going to go to make it and would imagine this will be the same for some of his staff as well. Leicester traffic at night is chaos through the centre and around the ring roads so it's ok for the few that work on North side of the city but anybody it's a bit of a nightmare. Any Coventry fans braving this I suggest avoiding coming M69 and M1 and come the old Fosse Way route or come off at Hinckley go along the country lanes. They have also made it clear that it will be a rushed through meeting to get it done as quick as possible so making it worse value for money if they get it done in just over an hour will make it about 30p per minute -

I fear that this will make the crowd even worse with the earlier start time as people may now struggle to get there in time from work with the rush hour traffic. I would imagine that most Coventry fans will not bother now as too early for them -
I see Mikkel Mikkelson has posted that he is at the hospital with Max Fricke hopefully nothing to serious as he is having an amazing season.
-
I am sure that common sense will prevail if new promotors not affiliated with the Hemsley family come forward then the fine will be waived to enable the club to operate in the future.
-
Hopefully the SCB will change their stance of not allowing a new promotion to take over the club until fines and costs are paid as that is not something that they are responsible for and will only achieve in the club remaining closed. I can understand that they will not allow Yulia to take over and in my opinion that is a good idea as she is not very speedway oriented at all and is embarrassing in the pits with riders
-
So the SCB have finally published Mr Hemsleys case on the website not good for the club or sport as he will not pay the fine. He deserves some of this but do think the fine is rather excessive and the ban means nothing to him as he is no longer the Promotor.
-
So the revolving door at Leicester is unlocked again and back in use let's see which riders come through it this time. I had doubts over the last two signings as in my view are not presently up to EL standards and I have unfortunately been proved correct. The next move is crucial as there was a better crowd last night and need to get some more home wins
-
From what I have heard Barker will not be returning back to Peterborough while Ged Rathbone has the club as there was some end of season disagreement over a rolling chassis that the club was theirs but the rider thought it was his. If Glasgow do drop Barker I think it's more likely that he will be riding along the A47 in the elite league. Although I don't think the Tigers will drop him unless they can a proven replacement

Swindon Robins V Leicester Lions 02/06
flagrag replied to Sidney the robin's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
mdmc82- It was the rider himself after the Sky fixture that made the statement to Leicester fans he said he wanted the B match changing as he was unable to come on the Saturday night planned. He also went on to say that he has told Swindon this and mentioned to the Leicester management as well. I presume Rosco has sorted it with Doyley to ride otherwise there will be a 28 day ban coming up. -
No DH will not be paying a lot out in points money but you still have all the travelling expenses, van leases, start money and often riders will do deals where they get a guaranteed minimum to make sure it's worth their while
-
Nightshirt The biggest problem the Lions are going to face this season is staying operating as I understand that they are loosing around £3-4000 a meeting due to crowds dropping off due to the poor performances. The club can not continue many more weeks like that especially as still got to pay riders for the away meetings out of your home match revenue as if your loosing money at home the away has to come out of own savings.
-
This weekend is also Wroclaw massive Derby match against Leszno so is not really that unexpected as far as I know the rider himself wanted to ride for Leicester but without the PZM start permission he is unable to ride anywhere. As he is now banned and there is also some other meetings and practice sessions required I think no option but to replace him I have a feeling we may be seeing Greg Walasek again next week as well. It will be interesting to see if Jason Doyle rides at Leicester next week as after the last meeting he was quite adamant telling fans that unless the fixture got moved he won't be at Leicester as can't do Saturday nights
-
I am not going to get into a debate with some posters about previous information and will just add that it would be reasonable for all LIve Sky meetings to be £5 adults and free for kids but then clubs try to get a meeting sponsor to make it free. When meetings have been sponsored before Sky Always try their best to feature the sponsor like in the Coin toss, background boards and making sure their corporate banners get exposure as we know how hard it is for Speedway to get sponsorship. Vitality Life insurance sponsored Sky's Netball super league coverage and Badminton coverage which both finished when Sky Speedway coverage started. A lead was given to Speedway powers that be not sure if followed up

Bspa Have Blocked Richard Hall`s Move To Brum!

It all seems wrong that they want to use an average from so long ago yet they allowed Adam Ellis join Eastbourne when he was an EL heatleader -
Bt Sports Costs
flagrag replied to sportmaniaphotos's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
The only thing I can think of is that when you enter your viewing card number and postcode it recognises that offer is not applicable to you. As it does say it's a BT broadband deal for returning customers As it does check with Sky as I have tried entering my viewing card no and brothers address which throws up an error to say the two don't match. I am kind of hoping that once the football and Rugby union season finishes in a couple of weeks that BT may do some offers as its well known during the summer their subscribers drop the channel if they pay for it
