  1. Overall I thought it was good considering the budget that was involved for BT coverage compared to Sky's previous productions. as others whom have or are involved in TV production it could be seen on screen. Many of cameraman used will have done Speedway before for Sky and Eurosport/BSI but they can only work with the equipment provided the same for the graphics wasn't so much the design it would have been the play out system used. Just to clear something for Mr Rising about Sky executives visiting Speedway, Barney Francis has attended a couple of meetings before as has his deputy Darren Long down at Poole and Coventry. The great late Vic Wakeling was very much a fan of Speedway and he often used to ask me about it and he was the one that pushed to try and get weekly magazine style show With regards to next season let's see what happens with the tv meetings this year and how the viewing figures are. The door is definitely not welded shut for Speedway at Sky even more so for 2018
  2. Have a feeling that he may be coming to Leicester and this is just based on Jim Lynchs comments on Saturday. He said that the club were looking at a couple of changes and were hopeful that BSPA were going to be realistic with an average of a rider coming in.
  3. Well both Morris and Josh G are named to be riding in Kev Doolans meeting at Berwick on Saturday so guess they must have let him down if they are riding at Leicester. Will Kenneth Bjerre be fit as well as believe he missed Sweden tonight with a shoulder injury
  4. As I mentioned yesterday Gomolski is on his way back to Poole and the rider being dropped may be on his way to Leicester to help strengthen them up obviously subject to him wanting to do that. Don't think anything can happen till after the World Cup though
  5. The next signing for Poole will be the return of a another ex pirate Kacper Gomolski. They really are strengthening up to make that push for the play offs. It is very hard luck on Kyle especially as he is local and served the club very well. He may be an option up at Leicester to replace Danny Ayres but we already know from Danny King doubling up that Ipswich have some Saturday meetings coming up and some away clashes. The Lions also have more points to play with so may wait for a better option
  6. I thought there was some very good racing last night at Leicester and the track looked looked very good to race on. It is a shame that the Lions could not have got that heat advantage in the last race to stop the Rebels getting a point as they will all be crucial at the end of the season. I know some fans have been complaining about the presentation and about in general not being able to hear the PA and race results myself included . So I spoke to the promotion at length about this to get the facts as was going to offer my professional help if they were having equipment problems. There are two people to blame here the Leicester Speedway haters and Leicester City council. After all these seasons there has been a number of complaints from housing residents some 3miles away and along large A roads that claim that they can hear the music and announcements from the Speedway along with the bikes. The consequences are that the council have given the Speedway club a warning with the possibility of a ban which then means no meetings as cannot run with no PA. They accept that the bike noise cannot be controlled but the Announcements and Music can so the club have turned everything down to a minimum and both the presenters have been told to keep announcing down so that is why there has been less interviews and war crys it obviously isn't helped when there are less fans in the stadium as the sound will echo more. I can see the next thing being an air horn ban like other clubs have had, the strange thing is all the noise that both the Rugby and football club generate but the council say that's unavoidable.
  7. From what I heard at Leicester last night was that team changes will be happening at Poole soon and also that a Pirates asset could soon be racing for the Lions to help strengthen Leicester up at the top end of the team.
  8. I always thought Chris Simpson did a good job at Coventry and Birmingham especially with the music and trying to build atmosphere, the year that he did Cardiff was another very good production which created an amazing atmosphere. The problem was on the microphone Chris always said what he thought and got himself into quite a bit of trouble with refs and promotors. The final straw was the playoffs final at Perry Barr which Poole won and Chris played Abba Money Money for their victory parade
  9. Not sure about App & Website I think a lot will depend if the tv rights are brought in the UK as they were offering it as exclusive rights. The problem with the coatings is that the people selling the rights do not have experience or the correct value of Speedway not just in the U.K. but worldwide so have been asking the sort of money a broadcaster would look to pay for say a Premiership football match
  10. TV coverage rights are being offered but have heard that the rights holders want silly money for this so unlikely to be shown in the U.K
  11. False dawn- If you had arrived at the stadium earlier you would have seen a huge amount of track work taking place and when you would have got into the stadium the track was being allowed to dry as had been bladed and ripped up to try and get some air into it. All in I think with the conditions the racing wasn't too bad and at least the meeting got completed without any major incidents. I do wonder if the Leicester track should be prepared a bit more grippy and rough as King and Bates seemed to ride it better and Garrity likes it the same I believe
  12. I like Riss and he has shown commitment to the Lions it's just the meetings that he misses but then all double uppers face the same issue. Bjerre is not good enough for this league and his gating is as poor as ever and once behind doesn't seem interested. I did think earlier in the season that he may have changed but don't think he has. To me Leicester need to look to replace Lasse quickly but options seem very limited and it may mean that two changes have to be made to make the team more competitive there was a good Crowd in today but locals will not keep coming especially with tough meetings against Pirates and Belle Vue coming up at home Finally full and massive credit to all the track staff for working so hard to get the meeting on I don't think I have seen so much work going on for a league meeting and it did produce some racing
  13. It appears Hansen had no idea that he was going to be sacked and that the deal with Harris has been done a while and also that more team changes are planned soon
  14. Leicester have a busy June with lots of home meetings that they cannot afford to lose so King and Bjerre need to step up and score the points that they are capable of doing so. Trust me posters on here are not the only people that have noticed certain errors being made with tactical changes and fans have commented that they have gone from honest say what you mean Norrie To Mr Nice Guy and never mind try again Jim.
  15. When changes are made I think that it will be King and Bjerre that gets replaced I don't think it will happen for Monday but maybe for the next meeting
  16. Like many others I have stopped buying food at the track due to the high prices and poor quality this year. The chips are always over cooked and the burgers have no taste. The drinks are no better with soft drinks warm and I have noticed that nobody goes to the after the meeting last year there used to be a regular amount of 30 odd now 10 or less again due to high prices I think they charged me £4:00 for a can of Guinness and about the same for a beer. I don't think Hemsley runs the bar & catering anymore it's the Mediterranean gentleman that does it all now
  17. LeicsCub- I am not so sure that Terry is the problem it's more the lack of shale and clay as now when the track gets wet it turns into sludge as happened at the Somerset match it was over watered before the meeting and track was tricky. As much as I would like the meeting on with the water already fell and what's expected it may be done difficult
  18. No would not drop Riss for Kerr as Erik is the better rider and has rode well for Leicester The next thing the promotion need to look at is the team manager as Jim does not seem to keep in touch with what's going on in the meetings and of the rule book
  19. Big Al I am pretty sure the Wolves match will be moved to another day next week. It does make sense to try and find another date for the Coventry fixture when more riders available for both sides. I hear it's now Friday 28th July for the Bees fixture
  20. I think the problem with replacing Lambert at the minute is his father he is the commercial manager at Peterborough and has.brought in quite a bit of local sponsorship and hired the boxes out. Would the promotion want to upset him before giving Simon a change at reserve ? The problem is the Panthers have got lots of fixtures coming up in the next few weeks including quite a few home meetings
  21. Not good news for Leicester Kim Nilsson has won the SEC meeting in France tonight so that will be both him and Gomolski missing from the Wolves meeting on 20th May with current rules say no Premiership guest or RR just NL or under 4 Championship replacement
  22. It does seem strange that they announced Graverson and Howe who have proper Leicester connections and then replaced them with Hall (Who most Lions fans can't stand) and Matt Williamson I wonder if it came down to money.
  23. RMC - Yes the Polish broadcaster always got a clean feed from Elite league as well as dirty feed with graphics only and the edit cut if they wanted. I would say it is a bit more difficult for them to produce a clean feed in Poland than UK as don't have the benefit of BT media switching but to nothing that couldn't be done In a couple of hours work. It will be interesting to see what Premier sports get I suspect it will be full dirty broadcast then will edit and over dub UK comms
  24. The Polish league was offered to Sky sports again but only on the host broadcasters I think N+ terms. Unless anything has changed since Feb they refuse to provide a clean feed so with no commentary and options to cut to UK presentation like how C More do Sweden. Due to this the only way to do a live match would be send own comms team and have own satellite uplink from track a very expensive option. So I expect that Premier sports will get a tape of meetings and then Dave Goddard will add his comms on Tuesday mornings so can cut out any meeting delays and Polish interviews. It is good that there is finally a better version to view Extraliga but could be so much better
  25. I see even next Monday away at Rye House Leicester have not got a full side as Gomolski is riding in SEC qualifier so no facility for him although Ayres should be ok to ride and then get up to Wolves for his Cradley meeting in the evening
