  1. Hans will be at Leicester as UK have priority on Monday night and DMU have issued his start permission for UK so if rides in Poland will likely get a ban in both UK and Denmark Josh G is a different matter as he is riding on a Polish license but as others have said RR could work well for Poole
  2. Worst case scenario next year football wise would be a Cardiff vs Swansea match, Although I don’t think the Police would let that happen depending on which league they are in they may allow a 3pm kick off on this Saturday
  3. It won’t be a problem with BT just may get pushed down the schedule a bit in the UK and abroad. I know WRU may want to stage some friendlies possibly 1 or two games but am surprised there are no free weekends during June,July or August as only 1 or 2 concerts already planned during them months. I think there is more to this decision to run Cardiff so late in the season we shall have to wait and see but do expect the football season will have an effect on the event.
  4. Also another thing is Speedway is likely to be less higher placed with broadcasters so on BT will not be on BT sport 1 and won’t get UHD coverage which I hear was brilliant last night. This is of course unless this is an international break weekend for football, it does seem a strange decision and will be interesting to hear the official thinking behind this date. I suspect it’s due to stadium availability but could this possibly be the final round in 2019 so champion will be crowned and will there be an English GP earlier in the season as well ?
  5. Some of the team changes that have just been made at Leicester are just because of averages not fitting for example James Sargeant he would have been kept instead of Mountain but his average is too high. From what I have heard the rationale behind KP going to be replaced by Auty is the amount of away meetings to be completed where it is believed Auty will score . Another consideration was if the club had not replaced Krystian today and he rode at Swindon his average would have gone up as his official average would be higher than his current assessed one due to some previous high scores at home. With Bjere his performance has not been up to the expectations especially in the big heat 13 and 15 situations. The changes may not work but after the last two meetings they needed to try something
  6. I don’t think there was anything wrong with the track last night hence the track record being broken 3 times the racing was very fast and Kings Lynn riders loved it. It was the poor performance of some of the Lions riders that was the problem you really cannot have your No1 scoring 5 at home on regular basis,Kurtz can only ride Leicester when it’s slick and KP has lost his confidence and looks dangerous now. i can foresee some changes before Monday depending on averages but a very difficult game as trying to find riders is problematic. If you looked before the meeting you could see the track was well watered and now has quite a bit more dirt on it with more added each week. With regards to watering during the meeting it can only be done if both teams agree and referee says ok which often they don’t as they have their agenda to get meetings completed as quickly as possible. As seen at all tracks to water it you need to give it an extensive grading as can’t water the concrete and at this time of the year it dries out so fast. As far as I am aware at present there is no trouble with sourcing water at Leicester
  7. Happy Hunter - Nothing to worry about the gantry and score board already belonged to the Bates family and the costs of installation was done by stadium sponsors Paul Chapman and Sons
  8. The starts are ripped up every week at Leicester before the meeting and riders like it as gives them extra drive. Unsure why but meeting referee Mick Bates informed the track curator that he didn’t want to starts to be ripped up or any more water adding. Sometimes in these TV meetings they run the track and starts slicker than normal so less chance of incidents and meeting delays.
  9. Most tracks that have two ambulances will have one paramedic and there is only medical officer allowed on the SCB paperwork. There was this issue at Leicester for a tv meeting there was two ambulances and two paramedics but the injured rider was given morphine so the signed in official had do paperwork and sign patient over to second paramedic while waiting for county ambulance
  10. Even if there had been two ambulances at Kings Lynn tonight it would have made no difference at all with the delay as the track paramedic had given Lewis strong pain killing medication so had to accompany him to hospital to hand him over to the Doctors anyway
  11. Trust me streaming of meetings in the UK has been looked into before by Sky and the current infrastructure at UK stadiums is not up to the standards required. i remember a run in to the play offs one season and I think the main match was at Poole but Coventry had a key meeting and wanted to feed in some races and interviews we had to use an IPad and send the footage as a file rather than live. Also some stadiums won’t co operate in the last season on Sky at Poole second play off semi kept getting postponed but Sky wanted to feature races on Sky sports news but stadium would allow any internet use so had to send satellite uplink truck just for a 1 camera production. I know from speaking to colleagues at BT that relationships are no better for TV meetings with clubs refusing OB companies and TV crew use of their Wi-fi even just to send emails and internet/social media hence BT guys have 4G mifi devices and use personal phones. To run a paid for streaming service is not as easy as just using a domestic fibre broadband connection it would need to be a dedicated leased line with 1-1 contention and say 100Mbps each direction will be looking at around £800-1000 a month that is then needed at each track. Even the ATR betting trial was costing them £250 a week plus over 40k setup fee just for connectivity. Interestingly most of this kit is still at the stadiums so could be used again. You can go along the 4G bonded route where broadcasting kit sends the pictures over 4G mobile networks using 8-12 sims combined but this is prone to buffering and mobile networks have started traffic managing this traffic due to the strain it puts on their core network The best hope is 5G mobile this may bring the cost down and have the capacity to do this but is a few years away yet. You could get a 2 camera OB with satellite uplink for £500 a meeting but still need the server and backhaul to get pictures on the internet for paid site or can go free route with You Tube
  12. I thought that it was going to be Wright for Kurtz and then a replacement for King. This move still means that Lions are weaker at reserve than they need to be. i am not 100% up on the latest averages could they have dropped Kurtz to bring in Wright and had Wells for King. That would have put Newman at reserve and some needed strength
  13. NL fours cancelled due to football and England playing last group game. There was also two clubs that had rider availability issues so made sense to change the date.
  14. From what I have been informed Natalie,Kelvin,Nigel and Brando all do the British League Racing for the love of the sport and provide their services very cheap and well below market value as they understand how important tv coverage is to British clubs with attracting sponsors and new supporters
  15. After the Vaculik situation I think there is zero chance of Gorzow letting any of their Polish riders ride in the U.K. let alone Wozniak who has really upped his game this year
  16. Don’t forget quite a bit of car parking will be unavailable due to the tv outside broadcast trucks and tv studios being situated on exit to turn 4
  17. Don’t think Erik Riss is that interested in Premiership racing at the moment as has a busy calendar on the continent inc Poland plus I understand his GF is coming over from Australia and has planned trips around Europe with her sightseeing
  18. Although I wasn’t there myself I have been told by two separate people that the track looked like it had been heavily watered at some point and well packed down with little sign of the surface being aired or attempts to dry it out. It may well be that was done earlier and then heavy packed down again I am sure if able to Glyn will come on here to confirm facts
  19. The crowds at Leicester this year have been good in general but sooner or later they are going to start getting home defeats with home the team performs. To me the team is one decent rider away from being a good team but it’s so difficult to make that move at the moment and once some riders sitting out of U.K. do want to do meetings it’s too late
  20. Iainb Not sure what meeting you watched last night there was two or three top races including heat 15
  21. I think today has confirmed that Leicester are not strong enough and need to look how they can get stronger, keep giving teams points by not winning by enough at home and so far away have been very disappointing. There are a couple of moves that could happen but need to get the right riders The problem being as other clubs are finding is to make changes that improve you is difficult as riders don’t want to come or Polish clubs won’t let them come Pawel P is a good example would love to ride in UK but Torun will not allow him to even though they are giving him sometimes 1 ride.
  22. It’s fully understandable that many fans are very unhappy with the line ups for tonight but it has to be remembered that Leicester tried very hard to get the date of this fixture changed even as late as the 1st leg but KL would not have it. I cant see there being a very large crowd tonight so financially could be very bad for the club if poor crowd
  23. Leicester will have RR for Anderson and Wells for King as his arm was very painful after a couple of rides tonight so has pulled out of Kings Lynn tomorrow
  24. As far as I know Leicester are going with RR for K Bjerre and Schlein for Hans and awaiting confirmation whether King will be fit which should be known tomorrow as making a decision whether he rides in British semi on Tuesday at Leicester. As another poster has said KL should be having Cook but other guests are hard to find due to other meetings and most Danes unavailable plus some riders who have the night off don’t want a guest booking as already have U.K. Monday and Sweden Tuesday
  25. Tellboy from what I hear from the Leicester club they have offered to change the date a few times and even tried again on Monday but with no success. So Leicester will run with Guest for Anderson and RR for Bjerre so all riders can take a ride
