It is very interesting to get the various thoughts on this matter from the I don’t want any tv meetings group ,Then you have the Let’s stick with BT e.g I am happy with what I am getting now group , Then the Let’s see what Eurosport are prepared to offer & get rid of Pearson and Tatum squad and then finally the bring it back on Sky sports with Tony Millard and Jonathan Green & Suzi Perry this of course cant happen sadly. It appears that this is not fully decided yet and the good thing for British Speedway is that there is a couple of offers available to the sport. I just hope that they are being advised by the correct people who know broadcasting. My worry with Eurosport although pan Europe is that they are bidding on other rights as well so Speedway’s a filler in case can’t get anything better and in 2020 they will not want to know Speedway during July and August due to the Olympics which they already have to broadcast .

I really do hope that the BSPA see sense and do not allow Eurosport to get the British Speedway broadcast rights as it will be a budget production gone will be your UHD coverage with multiple camera angles they will look at doing a more remote production with around 4 cameras and commentary done from London to save costs. As much as it pains me to say it but BT sport have done a good job in broadcasting Speedway since taking over with new innovation and fresh sense of broadcasting

Leicester have got to make sure that they position the team to have the best chance in the play offs and the Shield final. Sometimes decisions have to be made which may not be popular with all fans. But be assured Stewart and the Bates family know how important this end of season is to the club and it’s fans.

When THJ came over here for Kings Lynn he couldn’t be bothered and was riding a MDL riders bikes and just brought random engine over with him he didn’t even bring back protector and gloves. This year i understand he his bringing complete bikes, toolkit and mechanic with him so should be better

Leicester need to make a double swap anyway as it’s pretty much definite that Richie will not be returning this year and this may be a chance to strengthen the middle & bottom end of the team up. Would Sheffield fans have been happy to have Kemp then see Nicol at Leicester ?

You know very well what I mean Neil the big gap in home fixtures is causing Peterborough riders issues and as is usual false promises being made to them. -

I wonder if the lack of home meetings for Peterborough has anything to do with the riders missing tonight ? I know one Panthers rider who is unhappy with the lack of home meetings meaning he is unable to invest in his equipment as he would wish to. -
Lions v Glasgow 17th August

IainB-To answer a couple of your questions the NL riders are not allowed to warm up in the car park due to council regulations about noise and environmental controls. There was two distinct similarities between last night and the Redcar meeting both involved medical incidents where riders were unconscious for a long period of time which automatically required a hospital trip for X ray and CT scans due to the length they were unconscious for and also had other symptoms. Last night the the county ambulance turned up very quickly but still took a long amount of time to get the rider off to hospital. Even if there had been two ambulances and paramedics there would still have been a lengthy delay until Spencer was stable, so yes racing could have started again but would not have been completed. There is also the extra cost of having 2 paramedics on duty does any Lions fans know any registered Paramedics or DRs that they would want to help out ? In these situations the question was asked before but no response -

Well there would need to be a massive shale delivery to be able to make Leicester knee deep in dirt last week it was down to the base and very little out wide -
Eastbourne v Glasgow Semi Final

Not sure whether Cook would consider appealing the ban as that’s risky business as if SCB/ACU rule the ban is fair and he delays starting it now then he will be prohibited from riding in the GP Challenge in a couple of weeks and the Championship riders final. Also like with any appeal the ban could be increased -

Thanks to the co operation of BT sports Scott Nicholls will be at Leicester to captain the Lions. This was a complicated one as Scott agreed and signed a deal with BT before joining the Lions hence why Lions meetings are planned around the GPS and SON. However they are happy as a one off as they understand what a big fixture this is for the club so they are going to bring in another analyst who will please the viewers. -
Lions v Tigers (Sheffield) 4.8.19

IainB- The track was watered on Sunday morning and again early afternoon before the main tractor broke down. It was lucky that Danny King’s mechanic Richard was there who along is a tractor expert so along with Mick Shepherd they managed to get it repaired so that the meeting could go ahead otherwise it would have had to be abandoned as it was drying so fast. I do agree as they could not get the water into the track it went slicker than normal and also the track will be having some more shale put on it to create more of a dirt line and drive round the outside. -
That is why changes are happening at Leicester to make sure the club is in the best position for the play offs and the Shield final against Eastbourne or Glasgow. The club do have some tough fixtures coming up starting on Sunday so the management are making changes where required

It is very unfortunate and difficult for Victor getting caught in the middle of this situation, Leicester were well in their rights to request transfer for James as they brought him and then gave him a team place for 2019 and he had the contract but then Glasgow offered him a deal he couldn’t turn down. Leicester have also been on receiving end of this kind of rider control while in the Premiership twice they have agreed terms with top No1 riders for their parent club to demand full transfer if Leicester wanted to use the said riders. Back to the new signing I am sure once they have got sorted at Leicester they will become a good signing I believe they have rode over here before just not on a regular basis
-
Hopefully Victor will be a good signing for the Lions and can strengthen the middle order of the team up. Although Leicester fans will have to wait to see him in action as it’s the Swedish final this weekend which he is riding in but as a National final a guest is available

I presume for cost reasons and logistics the SON is being done as a remote TV production so limited number of cameras and small amount of equipment with the all the graphics, replays and commentary being done from London that’s why there are some gaps as there is a small time delay and also why they are not more up to date with what’s going on in the pits as don’t have spotters in the bits saying about bike changes and injury updates. Personally I think the picture quality and coverage has not been great but that may just be me being over critical. Hopefully tomorrow will be better but is hard with limited equipment and staff on the ground

Leicester Vs Redcar 29/06/19
flagrag replied to ellioth4's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Firstly it is pleasing to hear that both Josh and Broc are not seriously injured as there was a lot of concern for Broc as he was very poorly last night and unconscious for a long time along with showing symptoms of serious head injury hence why there was such a lengthy delay as constant monitoring of his heart, BP and to make sure he was not deteriorating was required . At Leicester the paramedics are very experienced and are Speedway fans so often they are happy to diagnose an injury then leave them in the care of one of their team until an NHS ambulance is there so racing can continue but last night was a different situation where Broc simply could not be left until NHS arrived even then it took a while for them to move him to make sure he was stable. onto the meeting I thought there was some very good close racing and Mountain impressed again hopefully he has his confidence back now. The track was good smooth and fast as the riders like -
Jenga- I was on about the 50/50 draws at Leicester that have been over £350 winnings each week. Back on subject it is clear that for whatever reason Sheffield fans and people do not like Sunday racing, so with the limited availability of the stadium and the Premiership fixed race nights the only option is for Sheffield to go up to the top division. However this is not a move that the Bates Family Are prepared to do so new promotion is required for 2020
-
The other difference between Leicester and Sheffield is that Leicester fans support the team through the difficult times where as some Sheffield fans are only interested in winning and if they lose a meeting then stay away and criticise from home You just have to look to Sunday Leicester fans brought Josh Bates a new helmet after his recent crash and also always get very large 50/50 draws

More good news Freesport are going HD on Sky from July 15th so no more fuzzy vision which if I am honest is why I have not watched a single match this season -
Josh is ok although I am sure he will feel a bit sore and knocked about in the morning and the bike is going to take some straightening by the looks of it. He was quite a lucky lad not to have injured his back again with the force he came down with.

Photographers in British Speedway
flagrag replied to GreenLightGo's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I am sure the two named photographers at Leicester will be spoken to again and reminded that this has to stop straight away and if they have any grievances then they should raise it with the club and Nigel Pearson -
I have a feeling Perks signing will not be announced until after the weekend so that he can ride for the Lion cubs in the KO cup
