  1. Richard let the Ipswich management know he was running late and that he would miss the track walk and asked another mechanic to fit a tyre for him as would be there for the parade but then at 6:25 rang back said he was feeling ill and had turned around to head home. They advised him to continue to the track and just get there when he could so the medic could sign him out the meeting officially I assume they could then use IRR but he wouldn’t do that so then frantic phone calls were made to get Freddy Hodder to ride who did a decent job and looked on the pace . I have it on good authority that Richard Coleman was not at all impressed with Lawsons attitude so will be interesting to see if any action is taken against him.
  2. Various clubs in Premiership and Championship have tried to get Beau Bailey to ride in the UK since the season has started. He has had some very good offers along with opportunities to be taken under the wing and live with more experienced Aussies and their families (Not Poole ) but his parents are quite strong in their views not in 2026 There is an outside possibility that he may slot into a Premiership side just before the cut offs for the playoffs in August but that will depend on how his Polish team progress in next few weeks
  3. Dan T would much rather have been at Sheffield and would have earned more riding at Sheffield for Leicester instead of paying for flights for him and mechanic ,hire car, airport parking and two nights hotel accommodation all to not ride and get his guarantee and then has to fly back again on Saturday to be messed around again . Maybe it is time that the ACU get involved and refuse British riders start permission if they have a clash of meetings in the UK as the PZM have done previously to Polish riders
  4. From what have heard it’s a bit more than a straightforward broken arm that was quite a mess with damage to muscles and tendons and will take quite a bit of sorting out. Delay in surgery is waiting for the specialist to arrive from another area of Poland . Hopefully get more positive update after the procedure has been completed but will be out most of the season now
  5. Dan Thompson would be a better option I would think than Masters on current form and how he was at Northampton a few weeks ago for Leicester . Sam really struggled with the track and is not in great form in the Premiership
  6. As others have said with current crowd numbers, No mainstream TV deal and costs of travel now clubs have to make early decisions based on a variety of weather forecasts. Quite a few Leicester fans on here and on Facebook complain about these call offs but these are the same people that if drizzling at 4-5pm Thursday night then don’t come Speedway anyway. I don’t believe any fans like standing in the rain with long track work delays then watching slow boring strung out races. Nearly all forecasts are showing significant rainfall on Thursday some saying up to 7cms onto an already wet and waterlogged track if the meeting had been tonight it would have been called off
  7. Not sure how the Max 3 leagues works as Dan Bewley was doing UK,Poland,Denmark,Sweden and Czech League
  8. Joe was only signed as a 28 day injury replacement, If they had signed him as a replacement then dropped him he cannot be introduced. I tend to agree Dan Gilkes seems to have lost some of his confidence on the bike and am sure the falls tonight will not have helped. I don’t think he can but Gilkes could probably do with some NL meetings to get his confidence back Northampton at present is a difficult track to ride and is very inconsistent as Nick Morris and Ryan Douglas found with holes and bumps appearing
  9. Heavy rain last night and most of the day today has already left the track flooded. The planned work this evening on the track couldn’t be done so surface would just worse The forecast for Thursday is poor and there is planned heavy rain between 5 and 8pm. Riders need to fly in for this meeting and a call off in the morning would be too late to change plans so an early decision was made
  10. Think maybe this is a result of cost cutting measures as well, Like SGP the money available to each team is significantly lower than what has previously been offered hence why the qualifying has been tagged onto GP weekends to keep costs down. My understanding is that Will Cairns offered to attend for experience and cover the costs himself where as riders like Dan T would have to miss meetings in UK along with high travel costs especially with cost of diesel at present
  11. Ryan was fine just a bit battered and bruised, However Jack Holders foot could be a worse thing after getting it caught in Dan Thompson rear wheel in heat 15, photos of wheel are on social media and Jacks foot looked rather sore .
  12. I heard an advert on Greatest Hits Radio that covers Northants,Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire last week for Northampton Foxes and there has been a couple of mentions on the news as well. I would imagine that they may up the output more once they know they are open and any gremlins are sorted out so on opening night will just be happy to Speedway fans in and then will target others which may work as Football season will be finished and Rugby Union not far behind
  13. Dan Gilkes is having a ride at Leicester in the next couple of days to see how progress is going with his knee injury and whether it’s strong enough to return to racing
  14. Let’s just say No Comment at present lots of ideas but need to wait and see if any of these promises get fulfilled
  15. Yes a plan was put into place to broadcast one meeting Live for free on You Tube on Monday evenings to try and raise the appeal of the sport and could sell some sponsorship as well. This was decided against as clubs would have had to pay for this so as usual looked at the negatives instead of thinking let’s try it cost wise probably less for a full season than £25,00
