  1. Being fair Schlein did look at bit out of shape as he went through the third and fourth bends but Harris was on the deck by the time he really lost it. It was a bad decision and every other week Harris would have been excluded without a second thought but at the end of the day it didnt affect the overall result, the best team won on the night.
  2. But its nice to see an Ipswich fan with a sense of humour, after the last 12 years they have had you certainly do need one.
  3. Probabaly about the same no of overtakes - absolutely dreadful
  4. Good crowd but dreadfully let down by The racing or complete lack of it until the later heats. The continued late withdrawal of riders that is seriously turning this event into a joke, only 4 teams out of 9 had there best pairing, whats worse is most of the clubs didnt tell there supporters that some of there riders wouldnt be appearing beforehand so only found out when attending the meeting. The programme for these events continues to make no room for changes, this is very poor and needs to be addressed. The Referee - every problem on the first corner met with an exclusion.
  5. And the other reason is that to few of our riders can trap consistently. Overall a good final which was very watchable but the bottom line is we came 4th and however much Pearson and Tatum bleat on about Bronze Medals (and boy did they bleat)we still missed out because we couldnt consistently get out of the starts.
  6. Most of the star names think its a joke and cannot be bothered so you cannot really blame the supporters if they follow the same line and ignore it. I loved the opening line by Tatum "its a bit slick", Kelvin its always slick at Vojens.
  7. If they are going to do anything with it why not run the whole show at one venue over 4/5 days, it would save a fortune on air fares and surely would encourage fans to go to them all especially if discounts were offered.
  8. Pete - would be totally surprised if you could not get what you want on the day and most likely a lot cheaper than what they would have been, considering Pearson and Tatum OTT presentation Monday I think they are struggling to sell it. Not surprised, what with the hotel trade and BSI the whole bloody things a total rip off.
  9. So basically he became a referee because he couldnt be a mascot anymore -
  10. I would have thought the referee would have used anything that gives him the best idea of what happened so that he makes the correct decision everytime, unfortunately some of our speedway referees are generally incompetent and unable to make any decision least of all the right one.
  11. The consistency point is my bugbear, referees decisions vary so much on similair subjects but the Mrocka exclusion was ridiculous and it was fairly obvious that Doyle's front wheel had been caught earlier. I do think the poor ones shouldnt do sky matches
  12. I would keep the top 8 but make everyone else qualify, if you take the chance and dont do the qualifiers and then dont get into the top 8 tough. Its hard but a fair way to everyone, one wildcard is enough.
  13. I personally like the current system 20 heats 2 semis and a final but would have 3, 2 and 1 for the final instead of the double points rubbish. All races count and points scored accordingly to where you finish in each race. Fair all round.
  14. QUOTE (Rob B @ Jul 19 2009, 02:49 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Both teams were daft today, Poland had couple of good chances to use joker earlier on when they went 6 points down twice, Crump should have known or been told no point beating kasprzak by 1 point as they could use joker. That was a terrible tactical move by Crump to Pass Kasper, they had the Poles beat until that point.
  15. Bjerre, Fit and Raring to Go Panthers no 1 Kenneth Bjerre has declared himself "fit and raring' to go" ahead of the 2009 season. Bjerre had an important hospital visit in his native Denmark on Friday 20/02/09 to assess his leg following the operation in November to replace metalwork to aid recovery to his broken femur. The rider had ridden for half of the 2008 season with his leg pinned following a crash in the Danish Championships and despite riding with a pin inserted and at times in considerable pain, the bones were failing to knit together properly. But the signs are now good and everything is appearing to heal well. Kenneth Bjerre said: "The doctors tell me I now have 100% use of my leg, it is stronger than it will ever be, it's the best news possible and now I can commence going to the gym and get myself in good shape for the forthcoming season. I can't wait for the season to start, we have a great side this year at Peterborough and I want to win the league". Bjerre called Promoter Mick Bratley within minutes of leaving hospital in Denmark and Mick Bratley said: "I think this has been more of a concern to Kenneth than he has been letting on. I had my suspicions he was worried, but this is great news for all concerned, he will be integral to any success we may achieve next season
  16. Bit of both I think, I dont think the sales of tickets has gone very well going on the fact they keep extending the cheap ticket deadline, but clearly the hotel trade havent helped by doubling the prices, a point not lost on BSI apparently.
  17. Yeah I know I have struggled to stay awake watching the racing at Brandon sometimes, You ought to bring him to Peterborough, our racing keeps everyone awake.
  18. I doubted this information and have checked accordingly, this is completely untrue and should not be posted on the BSF as this could be harmful to the staging promotion. Tai Woffinden is riding tonight as planned.
  19. Judging by the decision to move the German GP to Bydgoszcz, it appears IMG/BSI are supporting Gollob as well, he certainly would have been third favourite for the bronze medal in Gelsenkirchen.
  20. Yeah and it always seems to figure highly in your posts. Not to long ago I recall you backing Paul Bellamy's comments about the EL getting its house in order, after the rain off in an indoor arena and putting a German cover only on a re print of the 2008 Scandinavian GP Programme, Bellamy & others should keep comments like that to themselves. I am sure you have heard the saying "Better to be thought a prat, than to open your mouth and confirm it".
  21. I was told the roof was left open last night, and clearly no one checked the weather forecast, this is unbelievable incompetence on a grand scale and I really feel for the thousands of fans who are out there havent spent a fortune. Then to announce its taking place at Bydgoszcz next Saturday, Ill wager Hancock & Andersen are delighted with that little move it practically assures Gollob of third place. As Ballinger says heads should roll for this.
  22. Unbelievable decisions all night. I am niether an Adams or Bjarne Pedersen fans but felt for the pair of them, Adams expecially the refs decision was criminal.
