You can never budget for injuries, you just have some years when nothing goes right, just ask Ipswich -
Premiership 2025 Predictions

Lindgren is a better option, why didn’t they get him back. Tungate is a trapper, I just cannot see him covering the position when looking at the other teams best riders, he also is a let down on some of the tracks. Riss is in because of Shrek, he didn’t cut it last year and until Gusts settles down Riss will be in the top 5. -
Premiership 2025 Predictions

Belle Vue - A very strong top two heading a solid rather than spectacular top 5 and an inexperienced reserve pairing.Although I see them making the play offs I don’t rate them well enough to put them in the top two. A lot will depend on how well Lidsey, Cook or Blodorn go over the season but I see them to be fairly comfortable at home but not so productive on the road. Birmingham - Better than last year but they possess nothing that makes me think they will make the play offs yet again. Once dialled in I expect the top three to ensure a better home record this time around but it will need Rew to seriously up his game and that’s of course assuming MJJ will be staying for the season, their tail wags a bit and I can see changes sooner rather than later. Ipswich - I thought they looked Champions last year but the team rebuilding this year is impressive with Brennan giving them a very powerful top 3 and Thompson at reserve seems to provide them with an edge in every department. I think they will take some stopping home and away and in reality only a repeat of last years luck will stop them. Kings Lynn - A lot will depend on the returns of Iversen and Klindt but potentially they could be the leagues spoilers, In Cook, Kvech, Lawson & Harris they have genuine points scorers with Cook and Kvech likely to kick on this year as well. It looks like a genuine attempt to replicate the Peterborough team of 2021 and it could be an interesting year at Saddlebow. Leicester - Fricke, Masters & Douglas should ensure they are competitive at home but on the road I don’t think they possess the firepower to worry most of their rivals, Lawson is a big loss and much more consistent than his replacement Howarth, and I don’t see much improvement in Becker or Cook either so I remain unconvinced they will make the play offs. Oxford - Another team who for me haven’t learned from the mistakes last year and they look weaker this time around with question marks against Tungate, Kildemand & Riss, I expect Janowski to do better whilst Gusts has potential but on the whole it’s looking like another struggle to make the play offs. Sheffield - Excellent top 3 and if Pickering moves up a gear they will again be one of the main contenders, but they do have question marks against all of the bottom 3, Owlerton is a good home base with a fair bit of home track advantage but they could struggle on their travels. Play Offs Ipswich, Sheffield, Belle Vue plus another from Kings Lynn or Leicester. Wooden spoon Oxford or Birmingham. -
His last GSA was 6.52 in 2014, I would expect that to be re assessed
-
His last Prem GSA was 7.10 (2018) Taken from Final GSA of that year.

Wolves Speedway potential new stadium???
bigcatdiary replied to Pauldoveyspeedway's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Most of the clubs PR is bull, that’s nothing new -
I have known Danny since he was a teenager and he is an absolute diamond, I honestly don’t see why he gets the criticism he does, he busts a gut to race for Ipswich is reliable, friendly and very approachable and when fit scores good points especially around foxhall. Every rider has up and down years, I thought he explained it very well.

I wouldn’t bet on it

I would be very surprised if pretty much everything hasn’t already been decided, the AGM just rubber stamps it, and then they trot out this is the best AGM for years and everyone is pulling together. Same old

Most equipment removed from the Showground by the owner went to Kings Lynn as far as I know.

Is it ever anything else at Lynn

The Peterborough Speedway Consortium Objection to the proposed development of the Showground by AEPG is now available to read on PCC planning portal. Our objection was submitted on the 4th October 2024, but due to unforeseen administration issues within the planning department, they have only been published today. 2025 GP line up/wildcards
bigcatdiary replied to eric i's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I think their is a good case for the FIM to have 3 or 4 picks bearing in mind injuries that occur over the season but I see no good reason why every rider shouldn’t at least go through the qualifiers for the GP challenge, if they have a good season and make the top 6 on merit then they are withdrawn from the challenge and reserves are promoted up accordingly. I can understand the hosting federations wanting their own riders in a particular GP but why the whole series. -
Your not alone Royal Mail have delivered my copy on Friday for the last three weeks.

For me I think BV wanted it more, should ensure a good crowd at Leicester, BV will pack the place out. -

Thanks for that, I dare say the first news we will hear from Belle Vue officially will be at 7.30pm tonight when everyone that is attending in person will be in the stadium and Eurosport kicks off. -
Presumably that why the Lynn crowd only numbers a few hundred, I have been going to Lynn (occasionally) since 1970, and the actual racing has been utter rubbish for decades.

I thought the best system was every race counted, so effectively riders could score 21 per GP if they won all 7 races, the fact that some riders could end up with more points than the winner didn’t bother me one jot. Riders also knew that retiring for whatever reason cost them points and would always generally try to race rather than just give up. I don’t have a problem with the top 6 qualifying for the following seasons GP but the GP Challenge should provide at least 6 qualifiers with just 3 picks for the FIM., this rewards riders who do the qualifiers. Too many riders rely on the FIM picks for places and don’t bother to do the GP Qualifiers and just take a chance, if they decline to pre qualify and don’t make the top 6 or 8 then they shouldn’t get a FIM pick.
