  1. For one of the Elite league's top earners to turn up with one bike and to miss races as a consequence is a real cause for concern to the Aces fans and management.
  2. Its nothing to do with ripping fans off, your statement is just totally incorrect, as i'm sure all barring Zagar have to score points to make money. A meeting in April or a meeting in August its all the same to them. The Aces were just rusty, I think that was a major factor, as well as a fair share of bad luck...that happens.. I'll even bring to your attention that I know of some riders who have it written in their contract that they have to turn up to a meeting with two bikes. Pretty poor form all round by the non obliging aces.
  3. Quite a good meeting, close and competitive. The fish was in brutal form, particularly his move on Allen in heat 15. Scared the living daylights out of him, looked a bit close to the edge to me, and in reality if Allen had gone down, Fisher would definitely have been excluded. The move enabled Bjerre to come through, and the Panthers took a win which they just about deserved.
  4. Weather looking ok for this one. Hope it stays that way. Looking forward to it.
  5. Such sad news but as others have said, no more suffering now. I first met Normie when he visited mutual friends (Margie and Keith Pilcher) in Townsville Australia about eight years ago. Normie then opened his home up to me and my Son when we first came to the UK, and there are so many great memories from the initial meeting right through to when we caught up again at Somerset last year. A true gentleman who will be greatly missed by all that new him. RIP Normie - I shall definitely be raising a glass of bundy rum to salute you in Cardiff this year.
  6. I was under the impression that the Gustraw club were hosting an individual meeting on one of the days, not 100% sure though.
  7. Quite a festival of speedway / long track happening in early June. Including a under 21 WTC semi at Gustraw on the 7th June, Individual speedway on the 9th besides the famous grass / long track action at Teterow. Anyone going? Anyone been there before? Looking at the best places to stay, getting around, any info or advice really. Two speedway and two long track meetings in one weekend, sounds appealing.
  8. So the whole mess rolls on. The only partially satisfactory conclusion I can see, is if Somerset replace Doyle with Morris. A phone tapper somewhere between Swindon and Sheffield would have a story or two to tell I bet.
  9. Take into account that Bates Grandfather is part of the new Sheffield consortium too. After all the finger pointing towards Sheffield me thinks something is not quite right here.
  10. Doyley will not have a problem. He will get a work permit based on his Aussie Championship placing if all else fails.
  11. I think when it comes to work the majority do. I don't know one person who would take a 50% wage cut, and with loss of a PL sign on fee plus wages it wouldn't be far off that for Nick.
  12. Firstly, Nick has not signed a 2014 contract with Swindon, but that is irrelevant really, Nick has no gripes with Swindon or the Rossiter's, who he remains very close to. The bottom line is he needs to ride in both leagues to earn sufficient money and have the required track time. All this tripe about loyalty really annoys me....and i'm sure it annoys Ash Birks who was dropped at the drop of a hat. It works both ways.
  13. That is true and his form suffered because of it, until he went out on loan to Scunthorpe.. As far as Sweden and Poland go, Poland is a closed shop now until April? i believe, not sure about Sweden but it is the next step to take for an improving rider, if the right offer comes along...until then, it has to be one more year of double upping in my opinion.
  14. I suppose the lack of news regarding Nick Morris is due to a number of reasons, not least the holiday period meaning the BSPA office was closed. Fact is, its fairly obvious that Nick has been forced into reconsidering his options because he was dumped by Somerset. Without PL racing from the off, he would loose a considerable amount of money and track time. Yes he cpuld risk waiting for an injury and hope a PL club would come calling, but that's not the way I would do it...and it is a risk.
  15. I'd like to think he'd stand proud and give the good old two fingered salute.
  16. 1st Chris Holder 2nd Nick Morris 3rd Sam Masters 4th Ryan Douglas (Fell whilst in the mix) Semi 1 Morris Douglas Campton Davies Semi 2 Holder Masters\ Frikke Ringwood
  17. oh and for all of you foul people on here, Nick is from English parents, grand parents great grandparent and so on, he had no choice where he was born but his family have loyaly to this country unlike some, Nick doesn.t have to hold out a begging bowl , he has proved himself in speedway here and in Australia,
  18. Spot on. BSPA decided that because of a slight oversight on paperwork his application to do British Rounds of the world championship and ultimately the possibility to ride as a Brit would be rejected. Absolutely no place on a speedway forum for half wits like you Jenga. If you know so much about this rider, please share.
