  1. Interesting thoughts, because Bellago lodges at the same place as Nick Morris in Swindon.
  2. Looking forward to some trips to Bandit territory...very soon - I'm sure he'll do a great job.
  3. I enjoyed last night. The track changes look very positive, and I think this track will produce much better racing once the outside beds in. I noticed the grader wasn't going anywhere near the outside on turns one and two last night, maybe its still a little soft after the recent rain? Nice to see a decent crowd, last year the attendances definitely dropped off. A positive start for Leicester speedway. On another note, I just wish the Swindon lot would back off their riders, it was the first meeting for some of these guys, definitely the first premiership meeting. Give them a chance for gods sake. On this particular night, Jason Doyle's below par performance was far more telling than others. Fickle.com
  4. Slangerup looks a bit tasty as well, so far. Thomas H Jonasson Bartosz Szmarzlic Linus Sundstrum Anders Thompson Mikkel Bech Timo Lahti Nick Morris Rohan Tungate Not sure if anyone else is confirmed for this one yet??
  5. Not 100% confirmed but I believe the Aussies have gone as follows; Morris / Tungate - Slangerup Masters / Kurtz - Kings Lynn Fricke - Abensberg
  6. He looked very special to me, obviously a little raw and impatient, however I'm predicting big things from him, based on this one meeting. Fact is, he had the beating of Max Clegg until he gifted him a pass in one heat, and had plenty of speed throughout.
  7. Don't be so sure about that. If Morris doesn't get a run with Wroclaw his form could go t-ts up for Swindon. No PL this year, and we all know EL alone is not enough.
  8. Agreed, this is a major own goal by the Swindon management. Nick has recently signed a contract with Wroclaw, who are using a squad system, they have pre season training at Saddlebow road leading up to the meeting with the Stars. Morris and Doyle were both told they could ride. The sudden change means Morris has now had to tell Wroclaw he can't ride. It leaves Nick Morris in particular in a very awkward position. He's gone from having the chance to cement his place in the Wroclaw team, to now being forced into riding in a meeting which although is good practice, compares little to the opportunities the Lynn meeting could have had. The ramifications are far deeper than at first glance.
  9. Any experiences of the best way to get to Zielena Gora via UK airports? Not particularly keen on driving in Poland. I see Poznan will be hosting Wroclaw meetings too, easy access from the airport? Great idea
  10. It gets a bit dusty on turns one and two but not too bad at the back. As others have said beware of the taxis back to Prague after the meeting, they will rip you off big time. Seems to be an even spread as far as fans go. Decent boozer with cheap beer just over the road from the stadium.
  11. First of all, i'm surprised that Teterow got the GP. Its going to take a huge effort to accommodate and transport people to this very sleepy town, infact I have already been told to forget staying anywhere near Teterow as its basically been booked up by BSI / Riders / etc. I actually hired a car and went to both the big grass track meeting and the U21 WTC meeting in 2014 (they were on over the same period), what I found strange was despite the huge crowds, Teterow itself was dead, the limited bars and resteraunts were almost empty. The track was flat and overtaking was difficult, spectator facilities (food, drink, etc, were good though) Gustrow, just half an hour or so up the road is a decent option for digs, there will also be a meeting there on the eve of the GP, and I hear they are putting on transport to the GP (buses). It will be a GP with a difference, but my gut instinct is, the Germans will put on a good show...and the beer will be cold. Ticket prices are very reasonable too. We've decided to go from Brum to Berlin via Munich using Lufthansa, will then hire a car and drive from Berlin and stay a few km's out of Teterow.
  12. Interesting thoughts regarding the current state of Australian speedway. What if we added these to the top boys in the current lineup; Chris Holder Troy Batchelor Jason Doyle Rory Schlein Dave Watt Dakota North Not to mention a few others who are sitting this series out, Todd Kurtz, Ryan Douglas, Tyson Nelson, Alex Davies, Cameron Heeps, etc. Things not looking quite so bleak....and there are some good kids coming through as well.
