Chris Holder For Next Weekend's Gp
kingpin23699 replied to KrisB's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
What are you lot going to argue about next? IT'S THE GERMAN GP AND THE WILD CARD AND RESERVES WILL BE GERMAN!....WHAT'S THERE TO ARGUE ABOUT? Shovlar looking at things through his blue and white tinted spectacles as always!! The fact that Smolinski is no world beater doesn't come into it either, didn't hear anyone say Holder or anyone else should get the wildcard at Lonigo!!! -
Chris Harris And Scott Nicholls
kingpin23699 replied to paul84's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Who gives a crap what time Bomber goes to bed before a GP? So Bjarne Pedersen was in bed by 8p.m!.....boring ol' git! So what time did he get up d'you reckon?...4 a.m?....5 a.m?.....6 a.m? He rides in a GP in the evening.....which means either he has to have a kip in the afternoon or he stays up all day. So he gets up something like 12 hours + before he starts work! I'd have done the same as Bomber. -

What Do You Expect On Thursday
kingpin23699 replied to Star Lady's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Stuff the National Anthem! This is speedway, not a karaoke contest, or pop idol. I don't give a hoot if they sing, goldfish or dance to the NA. Just get out there and ride......FAST! -
For a start, it means we come out of gate 1 twice in the first 3 heats....not that it'll help much. And Russia (in yellow) come off gate 3 and 4 twice each ibn the first 4 races.

We i think JL should employ a comedian to be in the pits thursday. In my game, i've found, the more you enjoy yerself, the better you play. He should try these tactics....got nowt to lose have we. -
Lynch? Tuners? Bottle?
kingpin23699 replied to spook's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I must say that some track conditions suit some riders more than others. I've been Tenpin bowling for 40 years, and play at quite a high level and have seen the difference in players on different conditions. You can do whatever you like to lane conditions/track conditions or whatever and there'll always be someone who copes with them better than anyone else. Take Formula1.....and Michael Schumacher for instance...in the wet he was practically unbeatable...even last sundays race showed you the drivers who performed well in the prevailing conditions! Don't underestimate the importance of track conditions...they CAN and DO change results. -
Think Havelock should be in the pits with our boys Thursday night!

Well, i thought Olly did ok. I felt more confident when he came out than the others. He gave it everything, and that's all you can ask.

It's a lot easier for the manager of a football team to bring in young talent. They can throw an unproven youngster into a squad of 14 or 15 players, throw them out onto the pitch with 10 others to look after him. In this game (especially the SWC) you go out onto the track on your own!!! This week, all JL is going to make out of a sow's ear is a sow's ear! -

The fact remains , we just don't have the fire power that the other nations have. It wouldn't make a jot of difference if the managers name was God Almighty, the result would still have been the same! JL picks a team who know the Coventry track well, that's all well and good if the track is prepared the way they're used to, which it wasn't! They should have been able to turn up on the night and know what set-up would be required. THE TEAM ----------- Nicholls - Like to get out in the dirt Bomber - Another one who likes to blast around the outside Stead - Yet another who likes the outside line. Richarsdson - ex Swindon , probably the same. Allen - dunno much about his preferred line to comment. What home track advantage did we have?......NONE! Must also say though, it does help if you can get outta the starts! Track was as slick as you could get, maybe the Coventry fans would like to comment on whether this is the norm (it was 30 odd years ago, probably not now though). The SWC at Reading was no different. The Danes were handed the trophy on a plate same as they were tonight. Maybe in hindsight, Woffinden (M25) and Kennet (ex-M25) would have been the perfect choice (we'll see on Thursday). Isn't hindsight a wonderful thing? -
Swc Round 2 Coventry 14th July
kingpin23699 replied to skid row's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Think oursleves lucky that Tai is in the race-off even. I heard someone saying that it was too soon to put him in such a big meeting so young. I'm happy with what we're going with tonight, we'll see later if the decision JL has taken will be the correct one. Denmark will cruise through tonight and win the Final. GB to get through the race-off along with Poland. -

Race Cards For Swc
kingpin23699 replied to Danish Webmaster's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I've done a racecard (with names) for tonight's meeting (but as yet no individual scorechart). Hopefully the names on the SWC website are in the correct order. e-mail me at kingpin23699@tiscali.co.uk if you require a copy. If you need an individual scorechart too let me know. -
Referee Needs To Go To Specsavers
kingpin23699 replied to sirmattyisbac's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
The referee had no option to exclude Bjarne Pedersen. As it was a carbon copy of the Leigh Adams incident he'd have been admitting his mistake it he'd gone any other way. Pedersen should have gone.He made no attempt to even lean the bike over, but waited for the touch to take him into the air fence and get another shot at it.The fact that there was an exclusion in each of the races was a bonus. Just got back from Specsavers and there was this big bearded Eastern European in there. I'm sure i've seen him somewhere before...ummm....now where......umm... -
Does anyone know when/where i could find the line ups for the teams in the race-off? I've done a spreadsheet/programme for the event and will also be doing one for the Final. If anyone wants one e-mail me at kingpin23699@tiscali.co.uk and i'll be glad to send you one. I just need the line ups for the race-off before it'll be available.
