What PRECISELY are Edinburgh, or the BSPA supposed to do? Make the rain go away? If only you had told them in November last year just how wet 2012 was going to be, I'm sure they would have modified the fixture list accordingly. They've let the agreed fixture run their natural course until there is no alternative but to take action to move the various competitions along.

It'll not be the Sunday - It's being assumed if they make he PCT Final it'll be against Rye House, at Berwick on Saturday & at Rye House on Sunday. That's why here looking to go to Workington on Friday. If the fail to make the final, they'll be at Workington on Saturday.

The day after a stock car meeting? Lets hope they would have more ambulances than at the PLRC! -

As its all over Twitter, the same local paper will reveal the first two signings on Friday, what's "the worst" you're being prepared for - Jaokbsen & Sanchez? -

"the worst"? Having already displayed that you couldn't be arsed to click on the link, it seems you can't be arsed to read all the words when it's copy & pasted in front of you. What's "the worst", and what part of the article suggests "the worst"? Is it the headline "that says "SEASON could be over" or the phrase "last home meeting of the SEASON"? Talk about reading something into an article that isn't there..... "bleat bleat, why won't they listen to the fans?" -
Glasgow V Berwick 21/10/2012

How about it making the winter a LOT longer? There can't have been anything but a large loss to have been had for everyone involved in this ridiculous competition, so getting through to the final just extends the losses & makes the prospect of coming back next year just that couple of grand less likely. -
Workington V Edinburgh Pl/offs 13/10/12

Exactly! I wasn't at Workington tonight but, as far as I can tell, he got folks wound up a bit & no one died. More of the same required. Desperately. -
Berwick V Redcar 13 Oct 2012 @ 7pm

Havelock couldn't give a toss about getting fans into Redcar - why would he feed information as "a ploy" to drag them up to Berwick? Based on the last couple of times Kus & Dilger have been to Berwick, R/R & McKinna makes Redcar a bloody sight stronger! -

You need to buy a new watch if that's supposed to be an accurate statement It takes 15 minutes for the coffin dodger's medication to kick in, once he starts burbling on about how he knew this rider's daddy & he yammers on about hats before slavvering over the home team & whatever kids have been dragged out alongside them. Is it part of radio training to sound just a little unsettling when talking to small children, or did the radio stations stop that 30 or 40 years ago? -
Yeah, because it was exciting last year, watching the PL cough and fart it's way to its conclusion, weeks after Glasgow won - Plymouth with a team full of NL riders was the exciting climax to last season at Newcastle, wasn't it? As opposed to packed crowds for the Play Off Final & Pointless / Relegation Challenge with Ipswich. Can't be on with big crowds, strangers standing where the regulars stand, queues for chips, got to stop all that.

If the Premier League fannies about like the Elite League by picking a few random fixtures to pad things out, close the door, switch off the light and let it die in peace
-
Yeah, that's the big worry. 13 is an awkward number. Knew thr=ere was something wrong with the Premier League this year, & that's probably it. By the time March comes around, a more convenient number of the teams will be the least of the worries.
-
If that was the case, then Berwick have a ready made replacement in Klaus Jakobsen. Whether Complin was at the front or at the back, there was always the possibility of some entertainment. Rntertainment was / is the point of being there after all. Complin will be a big miss.

I'm just guessing, but perhaps the riders from both teams might want paying for riding? -
All the more reason not to be running pointless fixtures from the perspective of the staging club. What's my point? Let's see if this helps: If the people of Tyneside didn't turn out in their masses for the double header the previous week, when there was something at stake for them, having to stage a pointless fixture (from the home club's / fans' perspective) is just a drain on resources - thus making what must be an already financially difficult season just that little bit worse.
-
And that was reflected by the hoarders of home supporters queued from the turnstiles out to the main road, causing the meeting to be delayed until they were all accommodated and the the "House Full" signs went up to disappoint all the latecomers. Oh, it wasn't. Especially in a season when crowds and income have plummeted, the fact that Leicester (in this instance) may have been able make it to the Final frankly isn't the point financially. Had it been on a knock out basis, Newcastle (in this instance) would have avoided the need to put a meeting on that meant nothing to those who were likely to turn up and pay for it. At the risk of outraging the bobble hat wearers who still think that finance has no place in sport (yeah, that's a concern) thaw actual purpose of all of this is supposed to be to make money. Success supposedly makes this easier - but not with this system. Unless there's a couple of verysurprising results the same loss-making scenario will be played out at Leicester on Saturday & certainly Armadale next week.
-
Ah, but as you'll find out if you head to Derwent Park on Saturday, Edinburgh are in the play-offs rather than the PCT.
-
Simple enough the way it used to be: straight knock out. Groups can easily lead to dead matches like Newcastle v Leicester and, if Somerset win on Friday, Leicester v Somerset this coming Saturday. Title decide between top 4 not 6, which at least leaves some decent teams in the YS / PCT instead of the dross this year.

Will that be from this update?: " Heat 09: Bach, Aarnio, Toft, Hall 5-1 30-23 Time: 64.50 Line Up: Bach, Aarnio, Hall, Toft Comments: Hall is dangerous!! Tried to cut in between Irving and Aarnio on bend 2 lap 1, god only knows how Irving missed him. Read more: http://speedwayupdates.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=Worky&action=display&thread=10874#ixzz28nLuGwv7 " Richard Hall must indeed be dangerous if he was trying to cut between the oppostion's second string and his team mate for the night who would (probably) have been standing in the riders' enclosure watching the race.Having been to Workington in the past, riding on the lower level of concrete terracing cannot be condoned under any circumstances - Hell, the riders get fined for being on the rugby pitch! Another Updates classic

Alright, technically not the landowner. But if he went in & decided to take out all the temporary buildings, or do anything else to the infrastructure he's put in place. What precisely is the BSPA supposed to do about it, assuming they were "watching .... very closely"?
-
And do what, precisely? Are they supposed to be some sort of private police force, monitoring he situation of a property owner going about their property?
-
Solid second string? With a 4 point average.
-
Not to Swindon it's not - based on the quote from Rossiter. Add to that the confidence boost of giving a Heat 15 ride to Morris (it happens all the time at all levels in one-sided matches) and the chance to earn some more EL money....... Also, the reason Morris took the gig was because he wasn't getting enough rides for Swindon (quoted in the Speedway Star art the time of signing), so in his mind he's a Swindon rider with a second job.
