  1. Hans was obviously very angry with himself, understandably, he must have been gutted. Bit surprised though to see him turning away from the fans on the winning parade. But, as I said, must have been gutted, at least it shows real feeling.
  2. What happened to Ashley Pullen???
  3. I believe the late distribution of tickets for big events is that distributing late on leaves no time for the people who make fake tickets to work out how they have been produced. My ex husband's company have produced the tickets this year for BSI and they have to be made in a way that is difficult for them to be re-produced easily. But give the fakers enough time and they will work it out. That is why they distribute them late.
  4. Has anyone got any news on poor Andreas Jonsson, nasty looking crash.
  5. Jagus did well, but lets just see how he does on some of the smaller tracks. I seem to remember Mr Lindback doing likewise in his first couple of Gps, now look at him.
  6. Not too fond of them myself, but think they will add to the party atmosphere and have us all singing along.
  7. Unfortunately Sub, they are in it to make money. Nothing more nothing less. Maybe its not right, but thats just the way it is.
  8. Hello Star Lady I was not referring to you when I made my post and I'm sorry if you took it that way, I understand you don't like Scott but have never known you to call him derogatory names. We are all entitled to like or not like whomever we please, that is each individuals perogative, but I do not appreciate a certain Mongolian's and some others terms 'beggar', 'pauper prince' 'begging bowl' 'above his princely status' etc etc. Whilst I agree that none of these terms are racist, fattist, homophobic or anything else, they are still a cruel insult and I doubt any of us would like to be on the receiving end of them. As I have said before, maybe Scott doesn't deserve to be in the GPs by his past performances. But there was no 'begging bowl', BSI need him, more than he needs them. I know there are a number of people who don't like him, but there are many many more who do and Cardiff would just not be the same for the majority if he were not there. However, I do predict a Top 6 place for Scott Nicholls this year.
  9. I totally agree with Jirout here, not because I am a Scott Nicholls fan, but because I am sick and tired of all of the name calling on here. These guys, whether they are Elite League Riders or Conference League Riders all go out and risk their lives for our entertainment every time they get on a bike and I for one think that deserves huge respect. There are numerous riders I don't particularly care for much ie Hans Anderson, Jason Crump, Antonio Lindback. I may not like them much, but I have huge respect for what they do. Whilst in private I might have my derogatory nickname for the riders I don't like, I would most certainly not post it for the world and his dog to read. I would not sink that low. Some people on here seem to have an out and out hatred for Scott Nicholls for whatever reason. As with tv programmes that people ring in and complain about, if you dont like it, switch it over, in other words if you dislike him that much, don't watch him.
  10. The way I see it is this. Cardiff has the highest attendance of all of the GP Rounds. Overall, Scott Nicholls is probably the most popular Brit we have (although not with everyone I understand), BSI have to include Nicholls for this very reason. Its business!! Ok, I will agree Scott is not one of the best riders in the Gps, but he is very popular and everyone loves an underdog. His merchandise sales at Cardiff are astronomical compared to others, its like a frenzy. Ok, I know hes not popular with everyone, but overall, judging by merchandise sales and flags bearing his name, he is the most popular rider at Cardiff, hence his inclusion in the GP and therefore the biggest GP round of them all , Cardiff. Scott Nicholls did not get a begging bowl out to be included, he didn't have to. In parts, I do agree with Sub. If we were talking about one of the other middle of the road riders lack of inclusion in the GP, I dont think such a fuss would have been made mainly because most of the other countries have other good representatives to fall back on, therefore having a good representative at their home GP, unfortunately we don't have that pleasure. But fingers crossed this year Chris Harris can up the anti and we can have 2 exciting Brits to watch. Maybe they will do well, maybe they wont, but I sure as hell will be there willing them on.
  11. I am looking at Prague for my first foreign GP. But I'm a woman and I'm going alone. Any advice. I'm just a bit worried about how to get from Airport to Hotel to Stadium etc. Havent booked a hotel yet, any suggestions?
  12. I am hoping to go to my first ever foreign GP this year but cannot decide which one to go to. Can you all tell me which was the best for atmosphere, value etc. Thanks
  13. Apparently a box set of GP and SWC 2006 will be available shortly, if not already. They are available from www.speedwaydvd.com or from us at www.enjaydesigns.com.
  14. Hello Tim Sorry too to hear about your loss. Somebody on here mentioned Nick Barber. He is my brother. He has regular sporting auctions, where basically he sells it for you and takes 10per cent commision for selling them. He is having one shortly at Coventry in November, but also plans another at the same venue in mid February 2007. Alternatively, he regularly buys speedway collections for good prices. If you are interested could you give me a ring on 07841 455101 and I will pass on the details to him, as he is so busy at the moment with the auction coming up, I can very rarely get hold of him on the phone!!. Anyway hope this helps. Regards Bev
  15. Oh Subdei, put a sock in it. You really are so predictable and boring. Its no good having a sensible debate with you. Whatever Scott Nicholls does is wrong, even if he had won today I'm sure you would have found something wrong with that too. Agreed, the guy is not World champion standard at the moment, but at least he trys and is incredibly exciting to watch, unlike Hampel, Pepe and more often than not Gollob, I usually make a cup of tea when they are riding, they bore me to tears.
  16. Part of me does agree with you Subdei. Scott has not qualified by rights for the last 3 seasons and by rights should therefore perhaps not be included in next years GP Series. But he has always been there or thereabouts. Although you are not a fan of him yourself, you must realise that he has a massive fan base and it would be financial suicide for BSI not to include him. Yes I know, riders should be judged on their racing, but I feel that Scott adds a lot of excitement to the GP Series, its very rare that he doesnt get to a semi final and yes he usually doesn't get much further, but that adds to the excitement for his many fans, that perhaps this will be the one where he does go further. I know there is nothing in the rule book that says you must have a Brit in the GP, but can you imagine Cardiff without a Brit. I know it probably wouldn't bother you and probably a lot of others who support the foreign riders, but believe me the crowd would drop by half and the atmosphere that we all love at Cardiff would be like a damp squid. We do not have a better Brit at the moment, so I really do hope that Scott is offered a Wild Card and swallows his pride and accepts it.
  17. I do not believe for one moment that Scott did not take part in the world Champs qualifying because he felt it was beneath him. He wanted to prove to the fans and probably more importantly to himself for his own confidence, that he could qualify automatically. Sadly, it was not to be and I'm quite sure that he is now devastated. I hope for all of us British speedway fans, that he swallows his pride and accepts a Wild Card entry for next season. I just cannot imagine a Cardiff GP without Scott Nicholls and I'm quite sure that BSI would feel the pinch financially if he was not included.
  18. Does anyone know the whereabouts of John McNeill ex Mildenhall and Cradley rider?
  19. I am rather concerned about the 'professionaL foul' being used by numerous riders at the moment. 'If I get close enough to him and go down, the ref will probably exclude him'. In my mind thats not fair racing, almost like a football dive. It seems to be being used a lot in the GP and I'm not impressed. If the rider is good enough he doesn't need to use those tactics.
  20. Hans was well out of order tonight in the GP. He is a great rider and doesn't need to do that sort of thing. the chances are if he had let Nicholls through he would probably have overshot the bend because of his speed and Hans could have nipped up the inside. However, I am happy to see one Brit with some passion and determination.
  21. Hans is a very exciting rider but to be honest he frightens me. Tonight at Ipswich he was beaten on a couple of occasions by Loram and Miskowiak, but as I said he frightens me, his 'do or die' attitude can quite often be dangerous. I really do feel that a lot of riders are a bit scared of him because quite often he is unpredictable. reminds me a lot of Nicki Pedersen a couple of years ago.
  22. Yes, Hans has been checking a lot on the safety of other riders after they have fallen usually when he has knocked them off!!!
