  1. Are the Danes and Poles bikes legal, this is the question. Are they ever checked? I don't think so. There is a lot of things a lot of people would like to say on this subject, but it is taboo or sour grapes isn't it?
  2. Whats the betting Olsen prepares the Vojens track for the race off deep and grippy, so that the Poles don't get through.
  3. But i am sure that most people have respect for Neil, Jim and the boys for what they do, rather than giving you any respect for your inert blathering.
  4. For God's Subdei. you are so rude and disrespectful. How dare you come on here and speak to people like that. Neil has more experience and knowledge of speedway in his little finger than you do in your entire body. Yes, Team GB were pants tonight, but I think given a level playing field with machinery, it would have been a different story. It couldn't be more obvious. In fact it was plainly obvious, almost laughable. Niels Kristian Iversen beating Nicholls, Adrian Rymel beating Nicholls, Bjarne beating Nicholls by half a lap, I don't think so. Not on any normal dayat coventry.
  5. Nope, think that incident was somewhere in Norfolk!!!
  6. I seem to remember an incident not many years ago involving Scott Nicholls and Nicki Pedersen (!!), in the early days of their careers. Pedersen had been very hard on Nicholls during the race and had nearly had him off on quite a few occasions. After they went over the finish line with Pedersen first and Nicholls second, as they were supposed to be slowing down, Scott picked up speed, rode alongside side him and then slightly passed him and then flicked his back wheel out, causing Pedersen to fall. Nicki jumped up (unusually) and ran off towards Nicholls with his fists flying. Unfortunately for Nicki, Scott's dad Tommy met Nicki first!! That was so funny.
  7. Quite probably, but there is a difference between hard racing and cheating.
  8. Because I think he was well aware that the crowd wouldn't stand for it again. twice in one meeting is enoiugh. He didn't want to make it look too obvious.
  9. I don't think Scotty's bottle went at all. He knew that gate 3 had been rubbish all night and he knew that the only way he stood a chance was to make the gate. He was obviously really up for it, but mis-judged it, as did Jonsson twice in the previous semi on the same gate, luckily for Andreas he didn't touch the tapes, he just got a flyer - twice!! Well Done Scotty rode his socks off, really proud of him. Of course I am disappointed, would have loved to have seen how he would have done if he had made the gate successfully.
  10. a 4 year old would not have a clue what was meant by the song. If the kid understood the song you have to question their upbringing. Totally agree.
  11. I thought the presentation was excellent Chris. I feel that it got everyones adrenalin pumping as well as having an element of humour. Well Done. I don't know whether this is your domain or not - the firework music. Whilst the fireworks are excellent, I don't think the music accompanying them has been as good over the last few years. My first Grand Prix they played Greased Lightning which everyone knows, the year before I believe it was Ballroom Blitz by the Sweet. I know I am probably a bit of an old fogie, but one song I really wish they would use for the fireworks is Tiger Feet by Mud. Its really catchy, everyone knows it and we can all have a good bop around to it and I'm sure the catchiness of it would make the fireworks great too. As I said, this probably isn't up to you, but just thought I would mention it.
  12. Whilst i agree the referee was at fault for the decisions, he wouldn't have had to make the decisions if the rider in question hadn't 'tried his luck'. Pretty poor show by Nicki really. I want to see the best rider win (which he did last night), but Nicki used everything in his power to manipulate the situation, which I believe is wrong and unsportsmanlike. Nicki is a strange combination of things. I love to watch him ride but at the same time I love to see him beaten. Last night when both Scotty and Bomber passed him in one race absolutely made my day. But the stupid thing is, I can't dislike the guy. Last night, amid all the booing and hand gestures aimed his way, whilst walking back down the pit lane, he just looked up and gave the broadest toothiest grin you ever saw. Had me in stitches. Don't like some of his antics but speedway hasn't had a true pantomime villain for years and I shouldn't really say it, but I think that is what speedway has been missing. Some riders get hurt from boos etc, but I really think that it spurs Nicki on, I think he revels in it.
  13. Just want to say well done to Kyle Legault. Only 2 months since he broke his leg. I know he probably isn't happy with his score but coming back from an injury like that and giving it a go. is enough to earn my full respect.
  14. Also Crump and Adams Official Merchandise and Jeff Scott signing his new book Concrete for Breakfast.

  16. Although I feel Gollob was at fault Sub, I do not think that excluding Jonsson on his home turf is an easy option. The easy option would have been to exclude Gollob, but then he would have been correct.
  17. Sorry for the blatant plug, but don't forget to visit the Speedway Souvenirs Fayre at the Cardiff Rugby Club right next door to the main entrance of the stadium. 18. I don't think that Gollob meant AJ any harm. The thing is, you have to have a certain mentality to be a speedway rider. It is all about winning and to be a winner you do sometimes have to be ruthless. But sometimes it doesn't turn out how the rider planned and I am sure Gollob feels dreadful this morning about AJ. Unfortunately it is the nature of the sport, 500 cc bikes with no brakes and split second decisions to beat an opponent, sometimes the decision the rider makes is wrong, speedway riders are human and do make mistakes. We have had numerous arguements on here over the years about people causing accidents and being blamed for accidents, the fact is I am 100% certain that no speedway rider goes out with the sole intention of maiming another. They go out with the intention of winning the race and if the situation occurs that they are battling for position, remember they are going at 60ish mph with no brakes and they have to make a split second decision as to how they will pass, they don't have ages to think about what they are going to do, it is split second, sometimes that decision is the wrong one and an accident occurs. Who knows what was going through Gollob's or AJ's head at the time. Perhaps Gollob thought AJ was going to try and pass him on the inside, so he blocked the move, unfortunately in the meantime AJ had decided to go round the outside. Who knows? But it was obvious that they both wanted to win. Personally I just think it was an error of judgement on both sides because unfortunately neither are mind readers.
  19. I. too, found myself not wanting to watch anymore of the GP last night after so many accidents, it was not nice to see. However, trying to look at it from the view of a person who has never watched speedway, I would guess that they would probably find it all quite exciting and entertaining. Personally, I hate to see accidents and normally if I can see that one is possibly going to happen, I cover my eyes, all I want to see is good close racing.
  20. I just wish that one day all GP Riders, all rode the same spec bike, all tuned by the same tuner, basically a standard product for all GP riders. I think we might see a few different faces on the rostrum each GP. It would be interesting to see wouldn't it?
  21. I am really pleased that Rune won, it is nice to see someone different on the rostrum for a change. He is my son's favourite rider. I'm not insinuating Rune did anything illegal tonight, he won and I am genuinely really pleased for him, it just sometimes crosses my mind, as I am sure it does for a lot of people on here, where the extra speed comes from sometimes. I am pretty sure that bikes are never checked, unlike F1 where they are scrupulous about checking for irregularities. As I said, it just makes me wonder sometimes what they would find if an unplanned check were to happen and I'm not just talking about rune I am talking about all riders.
  22. Lets see how well he does at Cardiff shall we? He might have that extra speed, but that isn't going to help him at Cardiff is it?
  23. Thank God it sounds like he is not seriously injured. I must admit I feared for him. They got him off the track quite quickly and there was no news. Also the riders sombre faces also worried me. I am quite sure that Tomasz Gollob did not mean to hurt Andreas and is probably mortified. I do feel that is was a misjudgement on Gollob's part to take away Andreas's racing line and was not intentional. Yes intentional to block him of course, but not to injure him or cause a crash. With regard to the GP tonight it must have been horrendous for the riders. So many accidents, it was like Russian Roulette, who was going to hit a rut next. I do think it is time for Mr Olsen to go. Continually year after year he produces slick, non racing tracks. I always thought speedway was about racing, not gate and go. These tracks always favour the gaters and there is little entertainment for the public. I am a big fan of Scott Nicholls and whilst I am disappointed with his and indeed Bombers start to the GP campaign, I do partly understand why neither seem to do particularly well. Scott and Bomber are not gaters, Scott in particular cant gate for toffee, but they are both racers, but how can you race on tracks like Olsen prepares. Both riders, particularly Scott are excellent technical motorcyclists, but they don't have the speed that the really top boys have. My point being that Nicholls in particular could beat any one of those GP riders on the smaller grippier technical tracks, as he proves in the Elite League week in week out, but give him a massive slick track and its all about speed and gating and he is lost. Anyway, my best wishes go out to all of the injured riders tonight and hopefully this will give Mr Olsen the kick up the backside that he needs.
  24. Is there any news on AJ? I really don't like this silence it is worrying me.
  25. I thought that too. Amazing the speed he suddenly found and not many people go past Nicki Pedersen as if he was standing still. Strange that.
