  1. Such a sad excuse for the school to give to exclude Godfrey, like Mike i feel it is a big loss to Plymouth Speedway not to have him involved with there future, like they say sticks and stones, my grandsons will be going that school next year, i just hope they act more grown-up then the people that run the school do, very sad little people, i have a lot of respect for Godfrey for saying what he thinks, a lot more respect than i have for the people that run the school, perhaps they don't like hearing the truth, otherwise they would have shrugged it off as just someone's opinion.
  2. Dito, same with me, i get amazingly defensive, i will have to stop making these sweeping statements.
  3. When they happen i will remind you with qualification, your just picking at a post you no nothing about, you just assume you do, changes will be made by most teams next year in all the leagues, and when they are, making the right one's at the right time is the sign of a good team manager, it was a coment in general, and wasn't aimed at any team, and was an answer to a previous post, if you knew anything about speedway you would know that, injuries or not.
  4. Where did i say the team won't work, i haven't assumed anything in my post, your the one doing the assuming, riders get injured and changes have to be made, your trying to put words in my mouth, i'm happy with the riders we have now, but you can't have followed speedway very long if you think teams won't be forced to make changes, Scunthorpe were forced to make changes last year, and they won it, and not because they wanted to, because David Howe got injured, i was saying that the sign of a good team manager is when changes have to be made, they make the right one's, not hard to understand is it, no mention that i'm not happy with the team we have, it's part on the sport, and how dangerous it is.
  5. Yes i can remember Lee saying that, it just makes me think why would you send a contract by mail to a rider living abroad, you would email them or fax them to them, i would think thats the way the four riders we already have had been done that way, when Lee said that the contracts have been sent out to the two remaining riders made me think they are British, i wouldn't post a contract to a rider living in America or Europe when i could email or fax it to him, it maybe the same postman Mike Bowden used.
  6. I don't think he can ride for anyone until late in 2013, because his birthday isn't until the end of the speedway season to qualify him to ride in the PL, so nothing is settled yet.
  7. Good post Dave, coming from someone who has followed speedway for a while, the sign of a good team manager is one that when they have to make changes, and there will be changes, makes the right ones at the right time, good one Dave. If Mark Lemon and Ty Proctor get back to there best, we will have a very good side, because on there day they are has good a rider has the best in the PL, Mark has had a few average seasons, and Ty hasn't been riding enuff meetings, if Lee can get them back to near there best and we are in with a chance.
  8. It was asked at the meeting on thursday about running a junior team, Ashley did say that they would be trying to have a 10 o/clock finish instead of a 9.30 finish but would not say that running a NL was something they would look at, i think that would be down to the Council, and i can't see them going for that, but i would be happy to watch two meetings on a friday, and maybe pay extra to do that, but i'm happy to pay the £14 for what they are asking for next year.
  9. Lewy if Lee wants to give Ben Reade a place in the team then i will support that, but in my opinion i dont thin he is a PL rider yet, it's only an opinion, and i will support the team no matter who rides for the team.
  10. I think if it is down to his commitment then i can't see Plymouth signing him, but i don't think Ben Reade is a PL rider, last year most of his points for Stoke was at reserve in the NL, that don't don't make him a PL rider, this year we shall see how good he is riding has an heat leader in the Stoke team, then if he does well maybe he can give it a go in the PL, but going on last year when riding for the Devils, he did nothing in my opinion to show he is a PL rider yet, if other supporters think he is then i must be watching a different rider.
  11. And i would't go for Reade, i don't know if Max Dilger has signed for anyone yet, but thats the other reserve i would go for, was a match winner when he came down with Redcar, 13+3 two wins and two paid wins in that, Reade gives everything but not to sure if he is up to PL standard yet
  12. Five riders unveiled by new Devils http://www.thisisplymouth.co.uk/riders-unveiled-new-Devils/story-17655538-detail/story.html
  13. Five good riders mentioned last night, glad i got there early, and good to see Ben and Tom there to, overall very happy with what the new management had to say, and some good coments from the riders about coming to ride for the club next year.
  14. Dear Mr Snafu. If you want to put an opinion on this site then you do it, but if you want to pay me to read yours then you can do that to, i would also like to see an air fence at the track, but has the track is now there is no chance, thats just my opinion mind you, and i respect yours to but for some reason you don't think i do, thats down to you, i will be at the meeting tonight, see you there if your going.
  15. It would be great to have a dream team at the club neat year, but there are more things to be done within the club than just getting a team together that everyone will be happy with, make no mistake there are lots to be done at the track than off the track at the club, Godfrey said earlier the track needs lots of work, because it was done on the cheap to start with, and talking to riders i was told that the clay that was put down was half the thickness it should have been, so that will need to be sorted, the area around the track also needs to be updated, because the place is a shambles, and a danger to anyone when it is dark, cables that are on show need to be put undeground, they are on show all around the track, and has been like that from day one. So taking over the club will not be all about getting the team together, it will i think be a complete overhaul of the club, yes i would like to see a PL winning team at the club, but i do understand what needs to be done within the club to bring it up to date, and to make it safe for supporters to bring there familys on a friday, something the previous owner overlooked, and i am behind anything the new owners feel they need to do, teamwise and trackwise.
  16. Like you say forget about Ingalls for this year, but i would be very surprised if we see Fisher back this year, the one thing you don't want is riders saying they don't like the track, good rider but not a patch on Ben around the sba, i would settle for Ty Procter at no1, but i will be happy to have the rider the club brings in, i'm sure Lee and Seemond know that it is essential to have a very good no 1 rider to spearhead the team, also great news about Seemond. http://www.thisisplymouth.co.uk/Stephens-gets-licence-run-Devils-2013/story-17593835-detail/story.html
  17. Like the management at Plymouth when he was down there, who's idea of helping bring on any youngster who showed promise was to give them four laps before the home meetings.
  18. Devils prepare to unveil line-up for 2013 season http://www.thisisplymouth.co.uk/Devils-prepare-unveil-line-2013-season/story-17573505-detail/story.html
  19. And for thinking we would ever want Sitera, like you say Mike just a case of wishful thinking.
  20. Looks like he thinks more of money then winning anything.
  21. There was only one person to blame for what happened to the club last year and we all know who, Cory had a bad year last year but we all know the lad can do a lot better, it's up to the club if they want to bring Cory back, if they do all the supporters will be behind him, thats if he wants to come back that is, i know the lot i stand with will
