So when did they know the weather was going to be bad for the Friday, on Thursday, so why leave it till the Friday morning, when everyone knew on the Thursday what the forcast for the Friday was, I don't see the point in waiting till the Friday morning, because up until mid Friday afternoon it was sunny, and it was still cancelled in the morning, so being sunny on Friday morning made no difference to the decision to put the meeting off.
-
Who goes on Twitter to find out a Speedway meeting is off, all due respect mate, most people are at work at that time, unless it rains, a lot of the supporters would not have a clue the meeting was off, one thing I have learnt over the years, never listen the weather forcast, if the meeting is going to be called off, let the supporters know the same time has everyone else, it was on the Newcastle site way before the Devils fans knew.

Mikkel Bech...whats Happening?
Roger MARTIN replied to Opinionated's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
If all you can moan about is the bloke on the mic, then give it a rest, if he is so bad why are you the only one moaning about him, the lads I stand with on bend two think he is funny, and that's the way we look at it, now if you want to be constructive then please do, anyone with the guts to take over from that joker who ran the club before deserves my respect, yes it needs improving, but you are not interested in the things the cub have got right, just the little things they get wrong, maybe because you are a little man, in your little world. Mike you keep doing what you are doing, you have are support on bend two, just keep being funny, I know your not trying to be funny, but take it from me, YOU ARE. I don't know anyone around where I stand agree with your comment about him doing the club no favours, this is your opinion, not a fact. -
I think we should forget about this season, and move onto the next.

If it was Barker he would have been there. -
When the riders came out for the second half there was no material left on the inside of the track, so you can't judge the track going on the second half rides.

Cornwall????

Will have to wait and see, but it's none of the riders you have mentioned, this rider will come in on a 7 point mark, only because he has never been on a British track before, but until the rider signs, it's all talk, but i would hope its none of the riders above.
-
He hasn't clung on, and i think the rider the club are looking at is a 7 point man. I have been told he is decent, never seen him myself, only on yutube, and i would think there will be some action down at the SBA this saturday, because the rider has never been around the Plymouth track, and to leave it to the night of the meeting for him to ride the track for the first time, would not help the club, or himself.

Any idea when they are out Dave ?

One italian twice shy In the local know it all newspaper, a report from Lee there is no talk to bring in a rider, just says that the club will sit down a look at the situation, it's great to know the paper has it's finger on the pulse of local sport, bringing in a rider to replace Kling is a must, like getting the right rider is to.
-
So i take it he hasn't signed for Peterborough
-
Yeh i agree with you there, i'm not going to defend riders when they should be excluded, Gathercole did lose control, it's just that i stand on bend two, and Newman lost control of his bike going into bend two, there wasn't alot that Schramm could do about what happened to Newman, i have seen Plymouth riders get excluded for the same reason Newman did, in that same situation.

Mike when i said that about Kling, i ment that you can say some of the new riders should be given time because they are new to the SBA, but i dont think you can say that about Kling, and to a point Mark Lemon, i'm not saying drop him, because it would be harsh on any rider in any team to get dropped before the League starts, these cup meetings just help team managers like Lee the time to look at there riders, and see what need to improve on, i think with Kling last week if he didn't gate he didn't race, that is something that needs to be improved on. One thing i do agree with is the racing, nobody can fault the meeting last week, and if Todd did not have a bad start we would have won, but there was talk of how long will people turn up to see the team lose, when a family is paying £30 to go in, then something to eat, then the team loses, it's like any sport the support will drop, true supporters will go, and i will support the team win or lose, but not everyone looks at it that way, i go because i enjoy being with the lads on bend two, and seeing some very good riders at the SBA, and i look at it this way, support it or lose it. -

It is far to early Mike to make changes, but how long will people go to watch a team losing, it was a very good meeting on friday, but there are riders that should be doing better and they are not, now how long will people go and watch that, for me Reade is out of his league in the PL, and i can't find any excuse for Kling being so bad, i don't agree that you should give riders like him time, when you have riders who have never been on the Plymouth track coming down and out gating, and outscoring the home riders, he did last year, people may say that i'm wrong, but thats my opinion. -
Yeh i think Hart is still looking for the toys he threw out of his pram Yeh how that lad got a ride for so long is a mystery to me.
-
Not all Australians are gods gift to Speedway, we had one at Plymouth last year that wasn't to, they all have good gear, don't mean a thing if you can't ride it, time will tell.

Plymouth V Rye House Frid April 5th
Roger MARTIN replied to waco's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Lets give the lad half a dozen meetings, then if nothing changes i would have to agree, you can't judge a rider after only two meeting at home for Plymouth, he did show in the Somerset meeting at Plymouth what he can do, but in my opinion your number one rider should be your best rider, but in the three meetings the team has had he hasn't been that, that will have to change if the team wants to do well, but i would think the team manager will know that, but lets give all the riders a chance to get some track time in before we say changes have to be made, i for one am happy with the team that has been put together.
