I you are going to say that Mike Bowden should be got shot of then i agree 100%, but don't come out with a statement that riders are changed every week, yes he is a disgrace, but you have to blame the people who run the league for letting him run a speedway club, the supporters just come on the site like all the supporters do, and air there opinions, surely thats what's it's all about, if you are going to say they if the club was run by forum fannies etc, then you will get a response.
-
The only forum fannies i ever see on this forum are people like you and backless, it's all about opinions, if you don't agree then thats your opinion, your comment about chopping and changing rider's every week shows how stupid your post is, the only thing that gets changed every week, is your medication, if your going to say anything, be real.
-
Mike i don't always agree with you, but on this one i do 100%, the sooner Bowden goes the better it will be for the club, he is a complete disgrace and more.
-
Sorry Najjer if thats what you were saying, but we will not know until someone in the PL gives him a team place, to be honest i don't think he did himself any good by jumping into the EL before first riding in the PL, i don't know who advised him to do that, but it was a big mistake on Tyson's part. You have to say that it's all about opinions about the two American lads, the last time they were at the SBA with the American dream team, and the last time we saw them in the same team. Kenny Ingalls, 2,3,3,FX,0=8. Tyson Burmiester,1,2,1,2,3=9+1. But the rider on that night was Austin Navratil, 3,2,6,2,1,1=15+2, very impressed with the lad that night, a very young lad with a lot to offer, and also very unlucky that night in heat 14 when he fell when leading, got up in the race to get a point, but would have got three.

I can remember a team using Jerran Hart at reserve and keeping him there all year a few years ago, which enabled them to win the League, a lot of teams did not like what they were doing, but it was within the law, so nothing stopped them doing it. -
You need to be did sorry done.

I have seen Tyson around the SBA with the American Dream team, he was similar to Kenny Ingalls, i think having a spell in the EL with Wolverhampton may have did him good, not sure if he would be better than Lambert, i have a feeling the reason Bowden wants Reade to come into the team is so he can fit Lambert in.
-
it would be interesting to see what Ben Reade does when moved into the main body of the team before thinking of giving him a go in the Plymouth team in the PL, yes he rides the Stoke track well and picks up some good points away, but for me until he proves himself in the main body of the Stoke team i wouldn't touch him with a barge poll, but thats Mike Bowden for you, i would not touch the Plymouth reserve's, there is one more place in the Plymouth team that needs sorting before looking at the two reserve's, Simon Lambert would be the one for me, rides the Plymouth track well, and the last time he was at the SBA was very unlucky when taken out by a visiting rider, up till then he was doing well guesting for Plymouth, and is a rider the Plymouth supporters would take to, because he never gives up.
-
If he drops Nicki for Reade then i agree Mike, Reade may be riding well in the NL, but to go from NL reserve, to PL reserve is a mighty big step.
-
Mike is it anything to do with Reade and Lambert both riding for Stoke, and a rule saying they both can not sign at the same time, other than that what you say about buying a stamp must be right

This a report in the local Plymouth paper today. A PREMIER League debut for rising Plymouth Devils star Ben Reade has been put on hold after heavy rain washed out tonight's meeting at the St Boniface Arena. Devils, with Reade lined-up at reserve in place of the injured Nicki Glanz, were due to face current champions Glasgow Tigers. Devils chairman Mike Bowden decided yesterday to postpone the Premier League clash because of continuing heavy rain. But Bowden, who is also the Devils' promoter, made it clear Reade's chance had not gone because the match had been postponed. Bowden said Reade, who had a heart operation which put him out of speedway for a year, is part of his long-term plans. The Devils chairman is also on the verge of signing another rider, as well as bringing Reade back on the scene. Reade, 22, is a Plymouth asset, or 'property' and has been loaned out to National League side Stoke. He made his debut for Devils in the National League a year after undergoing a heart operation to correct a potentially life-threatening condition. Reade, a raw talent who had, however, no Premier League experience, was then sidelined by an ankle injury and was eventually loaned out to Stoke. Bowden said Reade had improved in leaps and bounds since then. He said: "Ben scored 17 points for Stoke in his last meeting and he's getting a lot of points for them. "He's still an asset for us and although his debut for our Premier League team will be delayed by the postponement of tonight's meeting, he will feature again for us this year. "I know it's quite a jump from the National League to the Premier, but there's little point in having someone like Ben as an asset and not giving him a chance. "He's a good rider and he's a good character and, importantly, he wants to do well. He's improved an awful lot since he first joined us." Bowden's signalled intention to change his line-up reflects his growing frustration over Devils' inability to win points away from home. He has also been less than happy about some of his riders' application when the club's top performers, captain Ben Barker and Ryan Fisher, have been unavailable. Bowden declined to name the mystery rider waiting in the wings 'until he signs along the dotted line', but the new face could be a member of the Devils' squad by early next week. Bowden said he had shelved tonight's meeting because there was no guarantee St Boniface Arena would be fit for purpose. The Plymouth chairman has been caught out previously when he attempted to put a meeting on only to have it called off by referees. In those circumstances, Devils have to fork out up to £2,000 in costs, including their opponents' travelling expenses. Bowden, quite rightly, believes that would hurt the club as there has been little income for the Devils because of rained-off home meetings. "At the moment, we can't take having to pay out a few thousand pounds," said Bowden. "I felt it best for all concerned, including Glasgow, who have to come a long way, to postpone the meeting as early as possible. "The meeting will be put on again on a different day." A new date will have to be found for the re-arranged meeting, along with a league match against Newcastle that was postponed on June 16. The next meeting at the St Boniface Arena will be a Premier League match against Rye House next Friday. -

You are a Malcolm Vasey fan going by your post, good on you, no Mr Vasey never said that Stoke were a Development side, but was critical of teams like Plymouth for not Developing there team, and i agree with him about that, because by having a very top heavy side, Plymouth were never going to win against the more balanced sides in the league, so your telling me that if Jaimie was doing well he would not have dropped him, but it was just that because of the points limit the lad was unlucky to get dropped, the only reason riders like Liam Carr Ross Walter are in the side is because the team were so top heavy, that's all he could sign that would fit in, he is in the same situation has all stand alone teams, they need to win things to keep the supporters happy, he was one of the biggest supporters of bringing the point limit down to stop other teams having big average riders in the league so it was used more like a Development league, so what does he do, bring in some of the biggest average riders in the league, this is just an opinion, like yours. -

I don't take an interest in the NL, just riders that i admire in the NL like Jaimie Pickard and Paul Starke, i support Plymouth but would like to see teams with ex riders in them do well, i just think Vasey was a little to quick in getting rid of Jaimie, but knowing the lad he will bounce back, like he always do, i have nothing against Stoke going for the league, but don't let people think you are a development team like Mr Vasey would let you think, then bin a rider who is having a bad spell, and bring in a rider who should not be in that league, when he is dropped by a PL team, having Tony in the team is a very good thing, but will riders like Lambert listen to anything he says, i don't know but he could learn a lot from someone like him, but we had two experenced riders at Plymouth, and i know from talking to some of the younger riders, they did there own thing and were never helped, and all the crap that Bowden said about helping to bring young riders on having them in the team was all talk, just to make people think thats why they were in the team, when we all know why they were in the team, everything Paul Starke did was down to him and his dad, and i think Jaimie Pickard did the same. -

The thing is Mike when you have riders like Barker and Fisher in your team you will always get race win's, that happens all the time at home, but if you don't have the back up you get nowhere, the point i was making is Bowden puts the blame on Nicki Glanz not being there for the team not getting a point, and completely overlooking the fact that two riders got 3 points between them, and thats the reason on the day Plymouth did not get a point, for Bowden to say what any rider will get in a speedway meeting just shows how much he knows about the sport, nobody can predict what any rider will get in any meeting, and should not come out with statements like that, Glasgow won the meeting on the day and deserved to, the Glasgow team manager could say that if Joe Screen did not blow an engine on the line in heat 15 he would have won the race, it's all guess work. -

Your spot on, the only reason Simon Lambert signed for Stoke is because he got dropped by Leicester, he will bin Stoke the minute a PL comes in for him, Vasey is suppose to be all for developing riders in the NL, well i don't see any going on at Stoke at the minute, no sooner Lambert was dropped from his PL team, he signed him, i don't see any developing Stoke in that. -

When do the new ones come out, forgot it was 40.00 for the NL We have a difference of opinion on that, he has been riding for some years now and is still on just over a 4 point average and his no better than a NL reserve, if he was riding in the main body of the team yes i would agree, but he is not, thats what i base my opinion on, and he would be top of my list, just my opinion. -

If i was in charge at the IofW i would snap Jaimie up in a flash, i would bin Gary Cottham and move Aaron Baseby down to reserve, even riding like he is at the moment JP is a better rider than Cottham, and by moving Baseby to reserve would make IofW a lot stronger there, and by pairing Paul Starke and Jaimie together would make a very good pairing. -

Agree Bowden is talking Rubbish, but then that's what he alway's does, anybody would think Glanz is a match winner, if he is i haven't seen it yet, going into heat 15, Plymouth only gained one heat advantage up till then in heat 7, they did not deserve anything from the meeting, like you say they were never in it, instead of pointing the finger at the reason for losing the meeting because Nicki Glanz not being there, he should look at Holder 010= 1+1, and Kurtz 0110 = 2+1 being the real reason, or was he happy with that. -

In the local Plymouth paper today Mike Bowden blames not having Nicki Glanz there for the reason Plymouth didn't get at least a point, nothing to do with two other riders in the team doing nothing, they are the real reason Plymouth got nothing from the meeting, Mike Bowden knew for a week that Nicki would not be there, so he had a week to get a decent replacement, and he did not, so if there is one person to blame, then he is the one. If you are going to bring in a NL rider, at least make sure he is the best rider in that team, Luke is a good NL rider, but not Buxton's number one, Rob Branford is Buxton's number one and should have been the one to go for. -
They had every chance today but the same two riders kept us in the meeting, and it was lost in heat 14, Mike Bowden gives it all that about winning away, but i don't think he cares about away meetings, all that interests him is home meetings and how much he can make, the team is not strong enough to make the play-offs, but because of the way it has been put together there is no way he can make changes to it without dropping Barker or Fisher, i think what supporters need to say, do we won't to see the best two rider's in the league or not, that's what it's all down to.
-
Agree 100% with your post, Mike Bowden was shooting himself in the foot even before the meeting started, it was bad enough having the two top riders in the team missing, then he has to say on top of that the meeting was a waste of time, i think that did it for the supporters who were 50/50 on going, well it did for me. And on the more important note of Simon Lambert, he would in my opinion be a great signing is possible, but i'm not sure if Mike Bowden looks to sign riders that do well at the SBA, going on past signing's, i'm not going to mention any names, but he has a brother, that is also a rider .

That won't make any difference to Mike Bowden, Werner had retired but he still tried to sign him for Plymouth, this is the full story in the paper. PLYMOUTH Devils boss Mike Bowden is poised to bring in another rider to replace crocked Dane Nicky Glanz. Glanz flew back to Denmark over the weekend for a medical examination after withdrawing from Friday night's League Cup defeat against Ispwich. The Dane suffered rib and shoulder injuries after crashing the previous evening during Devils' Premier League defeat at Redcar. Ironically, a former Redcar Bear could be the rider on the way to replace Glanz, at least temporarily. Mark Jones has been released by the Bears, and would replace Glanz at reserve, if he decides to head for the St Boniface Arena. He is the favoured choice of Bowden, who tried to sign the ex-Newport rider before the season started. Bowden is also tracking other riders, including Berwick's Jade Mudgeway. The Devils chairman and promoter made it clear that whoever replaced Glanz could be brought in permanently. Bowden was not happy with his teams defeat on Friday night and has been less than enthused about their performances away from home. Devils have yet to win an away meeting this season. Bowden said: "Lee Trigger (joint team manager) has spoken to Nicky and it looks as though he will be out of our weekend meetings at Berwick and Edinburgh. "We're just working out what we will be doing for a guest rider. "There are a few around, but it would be good if we could get Mark Jones, who has just been released by Redcar. "I was keen on signing him, but he decided to go to Newport instead, then moved to Redcar when Newport closed. "He's a good lad and, hopefully, we'll be able to talk to him about coming down here." Bowden said he could not rule out Jones – or whoever – staying at the St Boniface Arena in the longer term. He said: "I'm not saying that whoever comes in would replace Nicky, because there are other riders on the team who are not doing the business, so it could easily be someone else. "If whoever it is comes in and does a good job, then we'll be looking at keeping him." 0 0

I see in the Local rag Mike Bowden is looking to bring in a rider to replace Nicki Glanz, because he could be out for a while because of the injury he suffered at Redcar, it says he is after Mark Jones.

A very poor display by three riders on friday scoring 8 points from 16 rides against Ipswich, when 2 riders get 31 points and you lose the meeting, people will say that Plymouth were without Barker and Fisher, but the fact is 3 riders 8 points 16 rides, i can't see that Mike Bowden will be happy with that. can he ?.
