Yes, apologies AO, I hadn't noticed that Sky were re-negotiating already... This was the fixture that has already been moved from Thursday 7th April which caused the Young Stars opening fixture to move to Tuesday 5th... Confused? You will be...

Great effort Dave. And not forgetting Amadeus Liszt (Egon Muller) with 'Win The Race': https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aBTuilMWX5g And whatever he is signing (I Love The Speedway Sound?) in this clip uploaded by Grachan: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13Lh_W5aB74 Music that I will always associate with speedway meetings would include 'Those Magnificent Men In Their Flying Machines' and Horst Jankowski's 'A Walk In The Black Forset' played at the end of meetings at Foxhall Heath.

Plus Wednesday April 6th: King's Lynn v Coventry

On a 4.00. Kai Huckenbeck is a very good signing. Will be 100% professional and have top rate equipment. Dual National champion, with Smolinksi in the field, rode in last year's Longtrack championship, beat some good riders in Australia during the winter. He's been nominated as part of a German team in this Season's Best Pairs series (Round 2 of which clashes with Stars match v Poole on 05 May). In any other season, you would hope that the Stars would stick with him, but will they when Batchelor is fit enough to ride again and Niels drops out and the Stars are at least 4.5 points under the team limit?

Great knowledge! Looking back at the records, this looks like it may have been during Stoke's challenge match at Hoddesdon on 05 September 1976. I remember it being announced that John Louis had been warned by the referee for looking behind him (for his team mate) during a British League meeting at Foxhall in, I believe, 1976 also. (As mentioned on the Coventry's New Stadium thread, Jack Parker may have been the first rider to be excluded under this regulation during what is shown as being the first meeting to be held at Monmore Green on 30 May 1928 when he was excluded from the 350cc Final, won by Bert Perrigo, for looking behind.)

And it won't include any Riders from Coventry, Poole, Somerset, Swindon or Plymouth nor Ulrich Ostergaard, Ben Barker, Mikkel Bech, Morten Risager, Ashley Morris or Steve Boxhall - and most likely not Bjarne Pedersen either...

Don't thinks its Foxhall. My guess would be Eastbourne back straight 1969/70, prior to the stockcar track. Stumbled across this on 'The Rivals': https://www.speedwayfiction.co.uk/speedwayonvinyl.html

2016 Speedway Gp Qualifiers
Reviresco replied to DutchGrasstrack's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Bradley Wilson-Dean confirmed as the New Zealand nomination for the SGP Qualifiers. He will take part in Qualifier 1 at King's Lynn scheduled for 07 May. -
Wembley Lions of course also won the Title in 1946 & 47, so similar to Wimbledon, they both won 7 Titles in an 8 year period, with, as BV72 has shown, Wembley having 5 Titles back to back and Wimbledon 4 on the trot during their 8 year period. Poole's 7 Titles since 2003 have been achieved over a 13 year period.

Noticed that a new member joined the BSF at the the end of last month with a username of 'SteveTeamBMR'. Not posted yet, but been viewing the Premier League Forum.

Don't disagree, simply pointing out the causality of the incident.

Ah, that makes sense of the Revolution announcement then of Lewi and Bridger as Team Riders and Danny as Test Rider. Thanks for that.

Coventry's New Stadium

I remember John Earrhy making an announcement after a Heat at Foxhall, probably mid-70's, that John Louis had been warned by the referee for looking behind him too frequently (in JL's efforts to team ride). Thought it was meant as a joke at the time, but maybe it was for real. -
Yes, that's Darryl. Along with Nico, who was not due to go on the trip, only James Sarjeant appears to be missing. Good to see Danyon Hume there too.

Latest tweet from Lewi Kerr would appear to confirm that he will be Jawa mounted this season: https://twitter.com/LewisKerrRacing/status/703639330888220672 (Guess that this means that Danny King (and Lewis Bridger) will similarly be using Jawa engines during 2016.) From the Club postings on Facebook and Twitter, the Terenzano trip looks to have gone well, with the Jawa going quick, although it's been a washout today apparently: https://www.facebook.com/IpswichWitches/photos/pcb.1080222385352881/1080222315352888/?type=3&theater

Exactly, and let's not forget that if Tungate had not been knocked off in the initial running of Heat 10 at the EWR last season, then the incident after the re-run would not have happened. Pretty sure that there will be a number of riders with 'A' before 'T' on their own list, one in particular whose career has ended due to an incident with said rider. I would've thought that Workington supporters more than most should have appreciated that.

Coventry's New Stadium
Reviresco replied to Humphrey Appleby's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Interestingly, the Speedway Researcher web-site records the opening meeting at Monmore to be a few days earlier on 30 May 1928: 'We 30.5.28 Monmore Green, Wolverhampton S-TPWY ; SR 3/1 p18; HWS p1; Opening meeting. 5,000. Wolverhampton Dirt-track Motorcycle Club. Jack Parker was excluded for looking behind in the 350cc Final. M.R Sprouts Elder v Ivor Creek - cancelled when Elder's bike failed. 350cc Final: Bert Perrigo 500cc Final: P Sturridge' One of the sources is quoted as Mark Sawbridge's 'A History of Wolverhampton Speedway'. (Earlier meetings are shown as having taken place at stadia that still exist, but not at current speedway circuits.) The web-site also suggests that racing took place at Arlington in 1928 too. -
The 2015 Regulations certainly allowed an EL Team to re-declare up to the Team points limit, as long as there were not more than two Riders with averages exceeding 7.00, and a Team with a combined Match Average above the Team points limit could re-declare as long as the replacement Rider had an Average equal to or below the replaced Rider's average.

Coventry's New Stadium

Surely there will be something similar to Swindon's Farewell to the Abbey meeting (and we know how that has turned out) and not leave it with the ELRC as the last speedway event held at Brandon. Steve, there is evidence that the Romans held chariot speedway racing at Foxhall Heath up until it was closed down circa AD 405, due to bigger prize money being offered on Continental Europe, with the stadium not being used again for racing until 1950. This led to the Roman withdrawal from Britain a few years later. The stadium was a lot more luxurious in Roman times, with large crowds attending and, despite global warming, the average race-day temperature on the Heath was slightly higher then than now at 7c. Records indicate that the racing was held under the stewardship of a local noble family by the name of Louis. -
See Tatum has now tweeted about Lewis Bridger's signing: 'A few of you have been asking about @lewisbridger27's return to @Lakesidehammers - it's one we're all feeling very positive about! Jon Cook and I met with Lewis and we were very impressed with how he has prepared himself to get back into the sport. He seems a very reformed character on face value and I think between ourselves and @ProRaceTeam we can help him realise his potential again.' 5 likes Repl

If it is as reported, then this was my first reaction too, but maybe best to wait and see what words were actually used...

2016 Swc Semi's And Final 29/30/july 2016
Reviresco replied to hyderd's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Would have to look at how Lambert is going at the time though, but at least there is the option of using him in the U21 Reserve position I suppose... (Coral now reduced Nicholls' price to 7/1, I see.) -
Yes, great news for Berwick and congratulations to all concerned. Certainly far better news than that announced by Workington earlier...
