Bees V Stars 11/4/16 19:30
Reviresco replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
One of my favourites too Gem and thought he was unfairly treated by John Berry at Ipswich after his 1978 season, before he moved on to Blackbird Road. Nice clip of him having a little battle with Jacko on the old Mildenhall track in 1989 which you may have seen before, but captures Cookies' style, and battling qualities well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9DtFiPhG5u4 -
Thanks for that. Presumably this will be announced on the Belle Vue web-site and Twitter feed in due course...

Both Reserves, Alfie Bowtell (Mildenhall) and Danyon Hume (Birmingham) have been promoted into the meeting, replacing Connor Mountain, following his crash at Mildenhall on Sunday, and the unavailable Ryan Kinsley. Liam Carr {Berwick & Coventry) and Jamie Halder (Coventry) step into the Reserve positions.

Edinburgh V Glasgow League Cup 15 April
Reviresco replied to SharpenRake's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Could see this being a draw. -
Yep, can see the announcement of the postponement of the Colts match. I was suggesting that maybe the club could make an announcement of the decision to put things 'on hold' until at least 25th. But then you probably read what I said as 'onion'? Maybe you should re-read my post #1362 - it won't turn your brain into swiss cheese.

Not there today?

Ipswich Vs Peterborough Thurs April 14th Plc
Reviresco replied to Pob's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Small world Scotsman. It's a number of years since I have been to Mussleburgh, since they finished the Edinburgh Marathon there. Back in the day, the family ran a tea dealers there and lived in Downie Place just back from the Promenade. Been a couple of years since I've been to Cappielow too. Last time they beat Dumbarton 4-0, so I may have decided to 'retire' after a good home win. Must try and get back again soon though, always feel good to go back. Funny thing was, there was a guy from Clacton, I think, who used to run a double glazing business who was a Morton fan and used togo to Ipswich Town matches wearing a Morton shirt. He used to sponsor match balls and the like at Cappielow. Phil Fox maybe, can't remember now? As far as I know it is closed now. Ahh, I see Scotsman beat me to it. -

Alan Brazil. Had some great times in the pub he used to run in Ipswich. The Blackadder? He could never understand that my family was from Mussleburgh and that I was a Morton fan. He's done ok for himself since then. Took him along to a meeting at Foxhall one evening, but can't remember much about it for some reason... -
I'm guessing that the televised match on 04 May v Belle Vue, is the one originally scheduled for 03 June, so maybe not two home fixtures in two days there?
-
Sky Sports have announced that they have scheduled three Wolves matches for live broadcast: Mon 09 May - Coventry v Wolves; Mon 30 May - Wolves v King's Lynn; Wed 01 June - Lakeside v Wolves (being a re-arranged date).
-
Sky Sports just tweeted upcoming televised fixtures including: Wed 04 May - Lakeside v Belle Vue and Wed 01 June - Lakeside v Wolves so a couple of re-arranged dates there, that were previously scheduled for a Friday.

Yes, watched both too and the Facebook one was slightly better than the one on SSHQ. Link to the Facebook interview here: https://www.facebook.com/SkySports/videos/vb.10911153761/10154099640288762/?type=2&theater As you say, it made Tai look ultra professional and on a par with other top-line motor sports men, which to be fair most of the time he is, but I suppose Tai would struggle to answer questions on current speedway in Britain. (Holder: 'He's British, and er sort of'.....) SSHQ (Sky Sports News) really can rot your brain if you watch it for too long.

Or a 2017 EL assessed MA converted from his 2016 PL MA...

Premier League V Elite League
Reviresco replied to Shale Searcher's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I always enjoyed it when Ipswich, under John Berry's promotion, declined the use of guests and either operated RR or promoted a junior into the team, even for a missing Heat Leader. They were almost always local lads that the fans could associate with and could view their progress and support their efforts. A few decent riders started off their top league careers like this. Not comparing like with like of course, as speedway, and attitudes towards it, are different now compared to those days. More riders available, etc. But at least the philosophy then didn't stop the Witches winning back to back Titles in 1975/76 and certainly didn't harm the development of those less experienced riders. -
Haha, yep, and whoops. Showing my age there again. Thanks for correcting R&R. EDIT: Chris Holder being interviewd on Sky Sport HQ now 2nd EDIT: Sky Sports just tweeted: On Sky in May Wed 4th May - L/side v B Vue Mon 9th May - Cov v Wol Mon 16th - TBC Mon 23rd May - Poole v B Vue Mon 30th May - Wol v K Lynn And Wed 1st June - Lakeside v Wolverhampton Mon 13th June - British Final
-
Sky Sports Speedway twitter feed now stating that matches will be televised on: May 4, 9, 16, 23. 30 and June 1, 13 (British Final), 22, 27 & 29 with all recent postponements being replaced and still a total of 25 televised meetings to be scheduled. (Looking at Phil Lanning's post on the Belle Vue 2016 Thread regarding Dave Gordon's interview on BBS Radio Manchester indicating that the situation is 'on hold' at the NSS until at least 25 April, this must bring into doubt whether Sky Sports will televise the scheduled Aces v Poole match on 27 April.)
-
Now announced as postponed on the club web-site and the BSPA's. If everything is 'on hold' now until at least the 25th, then expect the 2nd Round of the British Youth Championships scheduled for 24th to be postponed too. Would it not have been a good idea for the club to make an announcement on their web-site to let people know about the current situation, as not everyone would have heard Dave Gordon on BBC Radio Manchester, or read about it on here? OK, maybe they are waiting until after the Fans' Forum on Thursday, but the way things have been handled so far, the more official news that emanates from the club the better, I would've thought.

Sound like an overseas call centre. Has Carl Johnson left due to the problems with standing at the back on the stand?

Not sure if I understood your post right, but if you are saying that there is no Sky Sports Speedway Twitter account: https://twitter.com/SkySpeedway -
With the expression he usually has on his face, he may well have ate a hamster...

As Huckenbeck is the No. 8, to bring Batchelor into the side he would have to replace one of the declared 1 - 5, which may be why NBJ was added to the team but hasn't ridden yet.

With this year's record, should we expect this to be postponed after they have everyone in the Peter Craven suite, or will they call it off two days before? Don't know about balls - this is the least that the fans deserve. I notice that the announcement makes a point of mentioning that the Track Shop will be open that evening. Hopefully people will have their refunds available to spend by then as the club must be desperate for money by now, paying riders' wages and a a forthcoming trip to Germany, with no money coming in. Hopefully the management will be honest this time as everyone is fed up with the inaccurate messages about track problems being fixed, and those put out on here by self-appointed club spokespeople.
