  1. Got a lot of time for Ryan Douglas, so no worries in that respect. Yep, sorry, had a lot planned to "jazz" up - pun intended, the atmosphere on Saturday, within the noise abatement limits set by the local council and the "Witches Inner Sanctum". That will have to wait for the next home meeting - that's if I don't find a horse's head in my bed, courtesy of Coomby and delivered by Catch 22. Often found some dogs in my bed the morning after and a couple of right pigs, but never a horse's head to date. Then there was the wife and sole of the party once, that lass who looked sheepishly at me, the one who kept haring around my bedroom, a couple of right royal tigers, the one who went at it like a bull in a China shop, the one who only did doggy, the cat who had my cream, the one who made a right ass of herself, a couple of cows, the one who looked at me with big doe eyes, the one who turned out to be very deer, the one hired for the stag party, the other who made me feel hen pecked, the girl with the trout pout ..... Gee I could go on all night - then maybe that was why I was so popular (yeah right, in your dreams, lol). The Scotsman (my brother from another mother) may be in attendance, but he may produce a similar note from his mum saying that he has to be in Hoddesdon by 7pm. Could be a crowd on the low side of low on Saturday on the Heath. Maybe Ed will chose this meeting to turn up unannounced and do an impromptu set on the centre green - not that you'd hear anything where we normally sit of course - Ed Sheeran / REDcar geddit? Or maybe that Mick Hackney chap from Simply RED? But you always have the Billy Joel look alikey to bash out a couple of ditties -and remember it is just the way you are.... I still have my two other local personalities to take, like a rabbit, from out of the hat, now that the cat is out of the bag - and presumably swapped places with the rabbit and gone to live in the hat, hence the cat in the hat by Doctor Seuss? But I was keeping my powder dry on them for later in the season. OK, what local celebrities could we ask to attend a meeting at Foxhall, that would add numbers to the crowd? Other than Ed of course. There must be some? Keith Dellar? Karen Pickering? Chris Walker-Neutron Bomb? Sir Peter Hall? The actor, Robin Ellis, P D James, Bob Hoskins - oh no, he's dead, Ralph Fiennes? Twiggy? Of course, Griff Rhys Jones? That Jimmy's Farm bloke with the stunning wife? Cardinal Wolsey (nice pint in there the other day, but unsure how you get a pub to The Heath). No, it has to be "C'Mon Let's Be Avenue" Delia Smith. Got it! Oh, just realised that I missed Adam Ellis out of my Fantasy 2017 EL team. Dead cert after going on loan to Poole this season, and riding with, Trucks R Us sponsored, Chris Holder...
  2. The Bears were better than I expected at Hoddesdon on Monday, and that was without Baby Bjerre firing on all cylinders - maybe as a result of his late 2015 accident and injury. Jonas B Anderson oozed class. Gh3 rest were x bit hit and miss. Witches should win by good 20.
  3. No worries, buddy. Hopefully, out of all of this, you have picked up on what we are perceiving from reliable Intel is going to happen next season, but if the "scrap over cr@p" has muddied the waters, please drop me a PM and I will apprise you of the situation, as far as I know.
  4. All out of likes sorry TB and Tsunami (brilliant Dave, lol). TB, I don'the think it was your pebble that caused the Tsunami, that wave was created 33 years ago by the person/s who arranged to ruin Bill's Supporters' Club do by arranging for "Rent a Mob" to turn up and start a pre-arranged fight. I know who I believe it was, but I was not brought up to speak ill of the dead. Luckily, Billy and Siggy were on hand to calm down the situation and dispose of the fake fans. As I say, sticks and stones buddy and water off this old drake's back. So don't worry yourself over it.
  5. Hehe, well Bloomy would have to aim his superman punches at a very slow moving object that would cry out disability discrimination, lol. I guess that Catch 22 would be tag teaming with Bloomy, so it would definitely be unfair, unless my "hidden barbed comments" were supercharged up like in Mario Carts (showing my age now). As long as Mr G Nicholls doesn't turn out like Marcus Evans (sorry, Baldy, that's a football reference) or a Mr Fayed, as I don't think that a Michael Jackson statue would last long IF the stock car and banger parade remain racing at Foxhall. Ooh, there's another rumour started, lol.
  6. Or a tribute to John and Chris Louis? One thing if you do have a multi-millionaire owner, money should be no object....?
  7. Totally agree Shads. My thoughts entirely when it was mentioned to me. And in Rye's case, why not be a big fish in a smaller pool for a while and glean all the benefits that brings in itself. Could you PM me where you situate yourself at Hoddesdon buddy, as it would be good to introduce myself and say hi to a fellow BSF member, especially one who still goes to watch speedway, follows his team home and away and contributes to the sport by being a texter for the Updates site amongst other things.
  8. Would be good to see you there buddy, but it clashes with Rye House versus Berwick and I will be at Hoddesdon with my Billy Big Bollox "sponsor's" hat on and, by the looks of Bloomy and Catch 22's comments about me, it would be safer for me to keep away from Foxhall for a while anyway until the keyboard anger wears off, and Foxhall, would be better off it seems without my patronage, "sponsor" money, and "spiteful and unecessary" remarks. Hopefully we will catch up soon, as your Dad was one of my favourite riders and, in my opinion, the Witches should be using your youthful, enthusiastic entrepreneurial skills to the most. Hopefully, you haven'the taken this as a insult to your avatar, favourite rider, or parentage. As apparently, my posts are full of little hidden barbs. Baldy: why not aim high and go for Tai - there's a rhyme in there somewhere? I know ow that I will be checking out the SGP riders sponsorship logos with interest at the next SGP as, apart from Chris Holder, who do Trucks R Us sponsor on the international stage? It would be there, I guess that is where we look first to see who may be the 2017 Witches No. 1 in whatever league operates on a Thursday night in Britain next season. Personally, if money and points were no object, I would go for Tai, Dudek and A N Other as HL's with Gollob and Nicholls as second strings and then depending on the regulations governing the Reserves next season, Just would go for Tungate and a British No. 7, say, James Shanes, lol. But wouldn't be too surprised to see Jason Crump or Chris Louis in a Reserve berth. Rumours (not the Fleetwood Mac ones) were flying round Hoddesdon on Monday that Rye would be going EL in 2017, but that has to be at least a year too soon, but Team BMR and Mr Jenson and his team are winners and used to dining at the top table in their main sport so I can't see them being left behind for too long - not that operating a successful, entertaining, fan inclusive PL team is being left behind, but there does seem to be a driving force and passion for the sport there that had fizzled out under Uncle Len's tenure. EDITED: For incorrect predictive text and to cheekily say, Colin, it was nice speaking to you three times when I was screening Guy's mobile phone, lol.
  9. Hi Guys. Well you learn your lessons in life from all walks of it, including the BSF, lol. Sticks and stones and all that. Firstly, as always, I apologise if I offended anyone and, as the BSF members who have met me will atestify to, I am the furthest person away from a person who means any harm to anyone in any way. In fact, quite the opposite. But I will learn from this, not to offer any insider info that I have been offered on the Forum, but to keep it to the guys and gals that I know and can trust. If one of them wants to call me a "pri ck" so easy it, and they have every right to, as I would to them, because I know them, respect them and can have a bit of banter with them in a mature manner. For someone to call me names on here because of one throw away, flippant remark, then that, in my book is not on. I did not insult the poster, or his avatar - in fact Dennis and I have known each other since 1982 when he and Billy were sharing workshops in Bucklesham, where I spent a lot of time that year and witnessed first hand the respect and then genuine friendship that grew between the pair of them. I just wished that Dennis wore underpants under his baggy shorts, as the mouse escaped from its lair too often that summer, lol. If you had travelled to every meeting that Dennis and Billy rode in in 1983, then you will know who I am as I was at every one of those meetings too. We always ramped up the perceived rivalry between Siggy and Billy to enhance the atmosphere created in the first instance by the lady, Go.d rest her soul, Carol, who ran Dennis' fan club and was married to Mike Chittock - Heather ..Lay who sells the prize tickets at the speedway (and who was a massive BillY Fan) and her mum Margaret will attest to that, Anyway, I won't go into details of why Billy Sanders' fans do not count Dennis Sigalos fans as their best buds, but I can assure you that it is nothing to do with each rider's track abilities, personalities or whatever else. It is down to an incident at Billy's Fan Club do in 1983, which was organised by the Billy Sanders International Fan Club and the late Pat Palmer, God rest her soul, my ex wife Janet and me in particular. If you were there you will know 2hat happened and enough said. So, there it is. macca56 being as open and honest as he always is. If you do not accept this as a reason for my comments about "someone with a Siggy avatar", then that is your privilege and, to be honest, life is too short (and mine nearly ended 9 months ago), and quite honestly I really can't be bothered these days. If you want to PM me with further personal insults, please feel free, as I'd rather you'do keep them off the Forum and the Ipswich threads in particular, which are 99% full of intelligence, good humour and banter amongst like minded friends. You are always leaving yourself open to a warning, or even a ban, by calling a fellow poster names on here, which, at the end of the day is just plain silly as nobody wins and, let's face it, we are only all here through our love of speedway. If you want to talk with me personally. I can be found these days, when at Foxhall, amongst the Ipswich BSF Massif on the back straight, often these days accompanied by a Scotsman of indeterminate parentage and age. Or at Rye House's meetings, as I sponsor Cameron Heeps for methanol and I also sponsor Heats 12 and 14 at Rye House. I am usually the quiet one out of the bunch, trying to squeeze a word in edgeways and not trying to revive a dying beast of the Foxhole Heath atmosphere. Now, how those that war cry go, and where did Baldy leave those clappers and the BBC Radio Suffolk car stickers...? Yours in speedway and, as one great man once said - as long as we know.... EDITED: to correct predictive text errors and to add that it was Colin who had said that he had contacted Guy Nicolas direct and got the "nothing to see here" reply.
  10. Agreed Bruv of Bruv, but that, should not be the Panters fault at all as you will agree, it is the half baked, cock eyed, rush it in without thinking it through, BSPA who done that.
  11. Personally, I have nothing against what the Panters have done with Cookie or Holub. As far as I can judge, both changes were in the rules, so good luck and we'll done the Panters' management for making changes, strengthening up the team and going for it. I just wish all Promotions were as dynamic, proactive and forward thinking. No names mentioned of course...
  12. So, two months into the 2016 season, how do Rye House fans view events and progress both on and off track and what other suggestions have any of them got to progress things, again, both on and off track? IMO, Rye House supporters are very lucky to have such a progressive, forward thinking and customer centric promotion in charge now. Steve, Emma and the rest of the Team BMW crew have really bought into the sport and have, again IMO, only the Club, the fans and the riders' best interests at heart.
  13. There is an obvious reason for this as as a certain journalist, he is far better than a "hack", probably wants to keep his information channels open not just during 2016, but going forward too. I would suggest that he is more than simply a journalist, as he is a speedway fan and a Witches one in particular (along with a local non-league football fan) and I consider that Ipswich fans are fortunate to have him covering the sport in such detail and with such passion. Yes, I have built up a relationship with him over a number of years but, in my opinion, not many "hacks" would take the time out to call a supporter directly to explain the current situation with the Club from his perspective - an insight that, for me, answered a lot of the questions that I had concerning the current situation on and off the track, not only in respect of this season. I thought that I had, reasonably concisely, outlined the current and future scenarios on this forum a week or so ago now, but it appears that some Ipswich fans either do not read this Thread on a regular basis or are just too lazy to scroll back a few pages to apprise themselves of the situation. That one of them has a Sigalos image as their avatar, surprises me not.... I also made it clear that I would not reveal any of the info that I had been made privy to both via the local journalist and A N Other person close to the Witches "inner sanctum", on this Forum, but also made it obvious (well, to some anyway apparently) that I would be happy to chat off Forum, which some members have availed themselves with.
  14. IMO, Ipswich would have missed their three loaned out Australians at the EoES yesterday. Cam was oozing class, team riding and very quick at Hoddesdon yesterday, but you can't see him back with the Witches for some time, especially if the rumours emanating from the "inner sanctum" about next season are true.
  15. Terrific PL meeting. Cam riding outstandingly on a track 500% better than last week. Team spirit shone through. Staff all friendly, helpful & professional and fish & chips plus cuppa tea out of this world. It's great to be made to feel welcome and valued. Well done to Steve, Emma and all concerned. Rye House are going places.
  16. Cameron Heeps rode reasonably well for Rye House versus Redcar a few hours ago. Don't know if CL has thought about using an Aussie in the team, but Ipswich have been most successful with an Australian in their side......? I can't see CL making any changes, due to his future role at the Club and where it will be next season. Lewis Kerr's problem is, of course, being a test rider for Jawa this season.
  17. For some unknown reason, I seem to find myself agreeing with that statement HKP..... "Give Us A Twirl, Give Us A Twirl". I see you guys have been having fun on here, whilst I've been away converting to Rye Housism and digging my old sponsor's hat out from the back of the Travellator (Cuddly Toy, Cuddly Toy). Still, as we ALL now know, it will be: Der, Da, Da, Da, Da, Da, Da, Da, Da - "And Now Its Time For Something Completely Different" Next Season - That is of course if "The Price Is Right" for A N Other-Nicholls to takeover the Show - "You Bet!" it will be. At least he will be able to dig us out of the whole hole that this year's 1 to 7 have dug for themselves after letting poor old CL down again - well, he does have the Trucks and Tippers to do it - Tru7 cobber. In fact its "So Appealing, the Dollies have already Done Their Dealing." "Didn't He Do Well?". The one mistake CL made this pre-season - OK, one of the mistakes he made pre-season was running the team without an Aussie in it as, lets face it, Ipswich Witches best years have been when an Aussie has been in the 1 to 7 ... 1975, 1976, 1984 and, of course, 1998 when Mr G rode under a dual-licence (Polish / Austrian). Not an Aussie has-been of course, that could get confusing.com. Anyway, why did Brucey host a show about fruit cricket on TV some years ago in which he said: "You Get Nothing for a Pear, Not In This Game"? PS: Disgraceful scenes at Portman Road last night, during the Suffolk FA Junior Cup Final, when macca56 was almost escorted out of the Cobbold Stand due to his use of a Caribbean Carnival Whistle which was distracting the match officials. PPS: Hey Scotsman, we ARE famous. Loads of pictures of our two ugly mugs on the Rye House Music web-site, Facebook and Twitter: http://www.ryehouserockets.co/news.php?extend.1240 Just look at who is featured in my updated Profile Picture, tee hee? The "www.RentAnEastLothianFanForTheDay.sco" website crashed after images started appearing on Social Media and the hashish tag "#TwoMaccaswithMaracas" started trending world-wide (web).
  18. I just noticed that too Scotsman. "Fame" at last after watching speedway for 46 years, lol and I had to be pictured stood next to an East Lothian man..... Being a neutral (can I call myself that any more?) I'm not apportioning any blame for Heat 14. I'm just glad that all four of them came out of it reasonably unscathed, particularly Gentleman Leigh Lanham. Heat 1 was totally down to an inept referee who seemed hell bent on finishing the meeting in 90 minutes. Sitting in the posh seats then Alan, lol. Reminds me of when Sky zoomed in on my son at Maine Road before the start of the opening match of the season against Ipswich, and highlighted how many pies I'd had to eat that week. Starting a new Thread: "BSF members famous body parts"
  19. I think that there is a good chance that Holder will have his home track about 200 miles north east of Poole next season.... But what do I know?
  20. I think Steve and the rest of Team BMR will have the track sorted pretty sharpish. Totally agree with dave1075, I sensed a real feel good factor from the gentleman at the entrance to the car park right the way through my whole Hoddesdon journey. Credit where Credit is due, and a lot of credit is due.
  21. My pleasure Scotsman and, as they say, two East Lothian brain cells are better than none..... My hearing is still ringing since that 2 minute warning.....
  22. Thanks to your and "bruv's" involvement, my updated signature confirms the situation after a FB chat earlier today. All good and both parties seem happy with the arrangement, so you can't say fairer than that. I guess my car will be heading down the A120 more than east over the Orwell Bridge from now on, although the lure of a "wasted season" and the Redcar Bears on Saturday week may just be too tempting to miss. Thanks again, really appreciated.
  23. Should've realised that you would be in attendance yesterday after our chat at Foxhall during the Rockets KOC match the other week, and would've sought you out for a chat but, as always these days, I was parking up as the riders came to the tapes for Heat 1 and was meeting The Scotsman anyway and we then got involved in his role of phoning through updates for the Monarchs Chatzone site and that took up all the spare time during a speedily run meeting until the unfortunate incidents at the start of Heat 14, the like of which I have not witnessed in my 46 years of following speedway - a really strange incident. Hopefully all four riders are not too seriously hurt, but the reports as I left the pits were that Leigh had damaged fingers and was heading back to Ipswich hospital and that Peter Karger was feeling pretty bashed around - a real shame after his brilliant efforts to fend off a charging Sam Masters to record his first Rockets heat victory in Heat 11. I really enjoyed my first trip back to Hoddesdon since Rye House v Newcastle in 1992. A really good feel about the place, despite it resembling a bomb site in places. Really professional and friendly staff, helped me get parked and into the stadium in time to see the whole of Heat 1 - unlike Foxhall the previous Thursday, served with a giant hot dog by friendly catering staff, allowed me to watch the racing close to the track - just like I was brought up to enjoy at Brooklands and then gaining straightforward admittance to the pits after the meeting. A very enjoyable and now oft to be repeated trip. Yes, the track needs work and the stadium is in an "in between" stage, but my speedway involvement goes back to 1969 and Hoddesdon as it currently stands, is all I need to enjoy a speedway meeting. Thank you to all involved.
  24. Haha. I'm sorry but I can't say anything on an open Forum - and I am not trying to be clever, or big, or anything like that. I just asked this person and was provided with sufficient answers to make it abundantly clear why what is happening this season is happening and what will most probably 100% happen next season. (I can of course respond to PMs and discuss this off Forum. So feel free to ask, but you would be sworn to secrecy.)
