  1. Chris Harris £20 more please R&R. ...... which should be me outta the comp, lol.
  2. TBH, ER, I think a lot of us say it a number of times each season these days. Baldyman's passion for and current frustration with speedway has been borne out of a number of year's erosion of the Product and the levels of entertainment and vfm that it offers, particularly at Foxhall these days. The way he was on Thursday after the Glasgow match and the way he departed the Heath on his shiney black steed, together with the tone of his latest posts, makes me think that he ain't kidding, that is for sure, IMO... Leave it alone please, TSO, the situation at Foxhall is worse than you can imagine, especially if you care as passionately about the sport and team as Baldy does....
  3. Well I never, macca56 totally wrong again, lol. Not the first and definitely not the last time. Yes, great stuff and I would really like that Lewy. All the best to you buddy. I have just PM'd the bald one who, hopefully, will reconsider his speedway exit decision.
  4. Coooooool, expected typical response, utilising expeessions such as: "who do you think you are"; "you are not the font of all speedway knowledge"; "keep your nose out"; and "try not to be so patronising". Brilliant and thank you Lewy, as I have won my bet with my younger son, Dean (who is named after Billy Sanders' late son - that's if it's OK with everyone if I mention "his" name on here, as it appears from another post that I have reached my Forum quota (apologies, I did not realise that there was such a thing) of mentioning "the deceased, ex Witches Aussie speedway rider's" name in my posts). I am obviously so stuck in the past that, when I blow the cobwebs off my purifying body, I cannot see anything past 23 April 1985 - despite the fact that since then I have attended speedway in countries spanning half of the world's circumference, and have personally sponsored speedway riders such as Dave Jackson, Glenn Baxter, David Bargh and currently (as per my signature) assist, in a very minor way, Cameron Heeps and also sponsor both Heat 12 and Heat 14 at Team BMR Rye House Rockets. No, I am not bragging or trying to act all Billy Big (Blue) Bollox, I am simply stating facts, if that then leads you on to surmising that my post is "patronising", then, I am sorry Lewy old chap, you are incorrect. Does, my good friend Baldyman need me to fight his corner, I would doubt it as, despite being follicly and slightly vertically challenged, I would make a guess that my good friend would most likely win 99% of any amateur BSF Boxing, ju jitsu, karate, tae kwando, mixed martial arts, wrestling, arm wrestling, or any get down get with it, I get knocked down and I get up again, fight to the death, pistols at dawn, sword swallowing, male pi55ing competition you care to enter the 2016 BSF Ipswich Massif Pit Bull in to. What he may lack in hair and height, my friend, would make up for in heart, spirit, endeavour, Never Say Die (Lester Piggott's first Derby winner), plucky little British underdog, will power, and enthusiasm. The exact qualities in fact that appear to me, and others that I know, that the 2016 Ipswich tru7.com Tippers 'R' Us Witches 1 to 7 have been lacking to date. To be honest, if you stood next to me, I wouldn'the know you from a bar of soap, but I have read some of your posts and I have formed an opinion, be it right or wrong, that you are a newish speedway fan and that in that short space of time you have become passionate about the sport, support in word and deed and don'the mind sticking your head above the parapet on here and post with your heart followed by your head ( unlike some who just post on an assumption that there balls are bigger than anyone else's). In fact, you are my type of speedway supporter and, no doubt, I would respect the cut of your gib, young sir. So, I respect your right to post on whatever thread you chose to, in the way that you feel fit - and in this case you appear to have come out scrapping like a certain Australian rider, God rest his tortured soul, that I am no longer allowed to mention due to a quota that I was unaware of. So kudos to you Lewy, and extra kudos for you coming out fighting again in the second round. Now, as all BSF scraps are now listed as amateur, they are currently held over 3 rounds only, so, particularly due to my age and decrepit, almost deceased, body, I am hoping that we can call this as an honourable draw on points with the contestants and seconds all shaking hands and congratulating their opponent on an excellent, skillful, spirited little bout which allows them to move on with respect for each other. Unlike some on here, I treat all posters with the respect that I would hope to be shown by others - a mantra that I have held true to over my 60 years on this little, beautiful planet. Do I have a right to post as I feel fit, within the bounds of this forum's rules and the greater boundaries of common decency, Yes, the hell I have. Do I have the right to defend a good friend and a similarly stupidly passionate speedway fan, Again, Yes, the hell I do. Will I continue to do so, Yes, of course I will. And likewise, you should do too, young man. Do I expect "Baldyman" to now give up his passion for speedway, a passion he has held since 1976, TBH, I don't know. I certainly hope not, because speedway needs more people like Baldyman. People who care about the sport and, when they see something wrong, are not scared to post their thoughts, feelings and "justified" opinions about the scenario. Opinions that sometimes, when listened to and acted on, actually go a long way to enhancing the sport and helping it survive in the 21st Century. Enjoy your speedway Lewy. Never lose that passion and, keep posting. Whenever your team, or rider, races against my rider or team, I hope that we can stand next to each otherm favoured beverage in hand, and exchange our views and opinions face to face, as I believe that we would both enjoy that and we might both learn something new, which is never a bad thing. All the best, buddy.
  5. Lewy, I think you are bang out of order having a go at Baldyman like you have, as you haven't a clue who he is, what his background is, what he, along with everyone else, has to put up with at Foxhall each week, the number of away meetings he attends, the distance he travels, the money he has spent. IMHO, Baldy has every right to post whatever he wants to, in whatever tone he chose to. If you don'the like what he posts, why read it and then why bother wasting everyone's time posting comments about how you feel about Baldy's comments. In fact, keep your nose out and keep your comments to something that you may actually know something about young man. Baldy was hugely supportive of Plymouth's plight, and all you can do is slag off his posts. Pointless waste of everyone's time. I beg your pardon? I don't think that you have any idea what you are posting about. How dare you say what you have about my posts and comments about the late great Billy Sanders. I have said that I support Rye House have I? Wrong! Why do I keep posting on this forum? On this forum? Do you mean this Thread? If anything, both Baldyman and I are the most passionate speedway fans that anyone could meet, and Ipswich speedway in particular. I will consign your post to the bin of wasted effort, both in terms of content, knowledge and understanding, bandwidth and time wasted reading and replying to it. Total numb nut of a post. Arrogance and ignorance is not a pleasant combination.
  6. Well, in my humble opinion, that was as dire a speedway meeting as I have witnessed since 1969 and at Foxhall since 1975. Only someone from the Foxhall "inner sanctum" could come on here and defend that. Captain Pugwash, if you are not on a massive wind up, you are part of the inner sanctum and I would suggest that you are either a person who started off as an ordinary fan on the terraces, and has "progressed" to being part of the "inner sanctum", or you are the person I met doing a market research survey in the EU Store a couple of Saturday's ago. If the person who thought that they met Paulco as he had a whistle and a wicked laugh, you might be wrong, as I met Paulco and his offsides, Willie, along with Bruv of Bruv and Baldy (now "Bluey"?), in a virtually empty bar after the meeting. I have said it before, and I will say it again, why do Ipswich get this so wrong eh
  7. Totally aghast with the reaction we received last night, from the moment I walked into the stadium with my "party bag" after Heat 1 as, once again there was no one in the car park at the time I drove in at 7:44pm last night, to assist me park quickly, to maybe enable me not to miss Heat 1 having been delayed in the A14 driving back from a personal trip to Sheffield. To finding Belmont Road, Ip2 9R being closed and a diversion in place after 7:30PM which delayed me even more, to having only one lady, bless her, left on the turnstiles by the time I eventually got there last night. I am angry and frustrated by the current goings on at Foxhall Heath, which, despite what Captain Pugwash has posted, IMO, stink currently, The Presenter exempted. I received 10o% better customer care and service from the Sledeworth bar tender, last night before and after the meeting, when You, Bruv of Bruv and me met and had a chat with the brilliant Paulco and his incredible offsider, Willie, last night, than I have received from anyone else at my three visits to Foxhall this season - supporters club personnel, including ticket sellers, excepted. Maybe Captain Pugwash and the rest of the "inner sanctum" believe that they are bullet proof or maybe they just treat their paying customers with so much disdain and arrogance, that they have omitted to remember that some of us attend other speedway venues other than Foxhall Heath, so that we can directly compare the product and customer care and service proffered at Foxhall. As you are only too aware, lol, I am attending speedway at Hoddesdon too this year and, having recently exchanged my old Leon Cupra for a new Leon, I now have a Rye House car sticker in my rear window rather than a BBC Radio Suffolk Witches sticker ..... which tells a story in itself. Currently Team BMR Rockets and Raiders, customer service, friendliness inclusiveness and level of entertainment provided, would rank in my opinion at 9.5 out of 10. The Ipswich tru7.com Tippers 'R' Us Witches, I would comparatively rank, excluding, the Ipswich 2016 ipswich Massif's contribution I would personally rank at 0.5 out of 10. If there was an Exit Poll, I have Pm'd you and Bruv as I am still fuming about last night. It is the first time ever since 1970 that the programme I bought has not been filled in as, after, missing Heat 1, I never got to catch up and I thought the whole evening was dire, with the exception of the Mexican Wave attempts, Bruv's Bruv's brilliant megaphone "playing", some bubbles, Pob's Billy Joel impression, sorry again Pob, SB's paper aeroplane attempts plus his yo-yo skills, Beer Huts mix and pik, the "blue balls", Beer Hut's attempts at the megaphone, SB's almost rebellious air horn threat, Beer Hat's lad's contributions and the West Ham bubbles and the brilliant pre Heat 15 War Cry, oh, and a couple of passes on track, the whole "entertainment" package provided by the current promotion set-up was dire, in my humble opinion, based on following speedway from 1969 and at Foxhall from the Thursday after JL finished third in the 1975 World Final. If there had been an Exit Poll conducted after last night's meeting, excluding the 2016 Ipswich Witches BSF Massif's contribution, the customer care provided by the Spedeworth bar tender, the contribution of the Glasgow fans, meeting Paulco and his amazing offsider Willie, who offered more kind words about Billy Sanders than the majority of Ipswich Witches fans, the contribution of the Supporters'Club and a few Witches fans who joined in, I would've rated at 0.5 out of 10. My latest visit to Hoddesdon, I would personally rate at 9.5 out of 10, which kinda tells a story. This smacks of a business being run down prior to offloading and we are the ones to suffer the consequences, which is very dangerous as, attracting disaffected fans and / or new ones to speedway is, as we know, not easy. How anyone can come on here and say that last night's meeting was anything better than an Exit Poll 2.5 out of 10, I do not know. Were there really six passes? I remember two from the Fourteen heats I was able to watch after my late arrival from my trip to Sheffield. As an aside, do you think that the Glasgow riders thought that they had an extra dozen fans there last night, given the reception we gave them? And, do you think that, maybe, six of the current 1 to 7 know that they are not in next year's plans and they are riding accordingly? And, did we lend the cowbell and drumsticks to the Surrey Weegies? And if so, will you recover it when you watch the Witches match there in August? Thanks.
  8. What is the half left in the fridge going to be used for J? For the person who thought that Paulco was using a whistle and had a distinctive laugh, you may be right, but you may be wrong too. I dropped, the man himself off at his hotel after the meeting last night, alongside the eccentric and hugely lovable Willie, who said some magnificent, emotion jerking things about Billy Sanders - thank you so much Willie, from the bottom of my heart. For Captain Pugwash, do I know you sir, as you may be one of the "inner sanctum" that I do know, either, formerly "just a fan", or a market researcher I met in the EE Store in Ipswich recently?
  9. That is the understanding, yes. We may be totally incorrect of course, but, no smoke and all that....
  10. If we didn't already know what we know already about next season, I would fear for the Club's future, their true fans sanity and Chris Louis' health. Right, putting it out there: what the heck is wrong with the Club and the majority of its fans? Are they, blind, thick, biased, or just plain stupid? Why do so many shy away from questioning the goings on at a club, which once gave the whole town such an immense sense of pride, entertainment and success? Did Ipswich speedway die alongside Billy Sanders in Nacton Woods on 23 April 1985? As, apart from the Grand Slam season, what has there been to be proud of and associate with? Why is it, when genuine criticism is offered on here, do posters who are apparently linked to the "inner sanctum" , come on here and defend the Club so arrogantly and unnecessarily? Why is CL so notable by his absence and impersonal posts on Social Media? Why is it that a number of Ipswich fans seem to be "dead from the neck upwards", seeming to shy away from and be embarrassed by a small group trying to have fun and create an atmosphere? Does Foxhall really get invaded and populated by zombies on a race night ( you can't say Thursday night anymore?? If this post offends anyone (for example, Captain Pugwash, Bloomy, HKP, Catch 22, Colin, or whomever), I apologise, but I for one have had enough and am voting with my feet and will be following his speedway elsewhere from now on. Is it just an "Ipswich thing" as the Football Club is going through a similar malaise. This is the Club that had to have an SOS campaign a few years ago and was saved by its fans, backed by the late Jamie Caan and Tim Woodward, both massive speedway fans, so it is more of a fans's Club than most. Why can Rye House get it so right this season and Ipswich get it seemingly so wrong? They both work with the same product, pool of riders, regulations and track surface to work with? To my mind, yesterday, was magnificent. Today could be too,if only we all pull together. And in the same direction.
  11. Exactly. Far too easy to blame a rider from a distance without knowing the reasons. Having gone to the Witches versus Tigers match last night, I can safely say that Rye House fans have not a lot to concern themselves in the PL this season, whereas I fear for the Witches future and the sanity of their fans and Chris Louis' health - well, I would do if it was not virtually common knowledge that they will be racing on Thursday nights in the EL next season, under a different promotion set-up.
  12. Robbo discovered a mechanical fault after his last heat was completed on Saturday, so I wouldn't be writing him, or Gentleman Leigh, off too soon. Cam was blocked unintentionally in a couple of his heats and was worth far more than his 7. Kasper will be sensational during his spell at Reserve - where he was due to start the season before the Klindt situation arose. Ben Morley is doing everything and more that could be expected of him and Eddie is Eddie -on any given heat, the best rider in the PL, Mr Consistent, Mr Leader, but occasionally prone to the odd lapse. Yes, I am biased, but I hope Peter Schroek looks further than just Eddie for heat 15. IMO, A N Other should have been in the decider instead of Eddie.
  13. ECHO, ECHO, ECHO, ECHO, ECHO, ECHO, ECHO, ECHO, ECHO, ECHO, ECHO, ECHO, ECHO...... Sorry guys, I am on a new Tablet and still trying to get round using an App rather than a web-site link, predicatative text and such wonders of the modern world that would not have been envisaged back on 08 October 1956 when a newly spawned Macca entered the world.
  14. Wow, this is hugEly impressie from all sides. I will be dropping an e-mail off to Speedworth today. Amazing what a little interaction between Club and fans can do - if the Club man cares enough of course which Kevin obviously does. And sing: Things WILL only get better.......

  16. Don't worry brother from a different mother, I should be able to carry the East Lothian Unathletic torch for "macca56 and The Scotsman on Tour 2016" for the Witches versus Weegies match. If you read this, can you text me your e-mail address please, as Ian Bush has kindly e-mailed me some images of us on tour in Hertfordshire. Also, your heat sponsorship has now moved from EoES to Rye and I have a rare first edition copy for you, lol.
  17. Yep, no worries. Do you want your double Bass in a stein or two pint glasses? One of my favourite pints is a Bass. Steel drums may be more difficult as I am told that there is a decibel level per instrument set by the "inner sanctum", so may have to pass on that, sorry Baldy. What about a cow bell made of steel? Beat me to it SB, Tuba toothpaste it is, though I did think at first that you wanted one of my tumours that they removed a few months ago....? Yes Paul co, the more the merrier buddy. It is a good craic with the massif....
  18. IMO, if Nicolas gets his mojo back, and he may have done against Redcar as I was somewhere else, and the track is prepared well, this Ipswich septet should be able to post big home wins and pick up enough away points in the remainder of the season to put the late season run together, qualify for the play offs and then win them. So, 1 to 7, objective set, now go and do it. Again, IMO, you can sort of tell that a different hand is holding the purse strings and is manipulating the puppets as when before would a Witches side have had two unenforceable changes made by the first week of June?
  19. One question immediately springs to my mind: Are John Drake and thrillpool one and the same person - this tone of their post, the spacing of paragraphs and the aura of their avatars makes me think so and, if so, then I ,may well know who they are, as I had one person share my picnic bench vantage point on the exit of the fourth bend and they had a personal axe to grind against the new promotion and the excellent Mr Jenson in particular. (I found out on Sunday, that 'picnic' is the same in Spanish as it is in English, as is 'bungalow' (which originates from India) and 'photo shop'. Funny old world, isn't it. As in diving scoring (how do I know such things....?) I think we can discount the lowest and highest scores on this thread and award points on the posts and comments in between the nadir and the zenith (is that right?), which, by my lousy math, would award Saturday's meeting a resounding 9.5 out of 10. Anyone want to disagree, without a personal axe to grind, I am sure that Steve, Emma and the rest of the Team BMR crew would only be too willing to listen to your comments and use them as a way to even further improve the already, take it as you find it, excellent situation at Hoddesdon. BOOM! That was an excellent 90 minutes of entertainment on Saturday. Get In There! Happy I am..... PS: plus I met Shads, and his better half and, what a great bloke he is. (Gee, I feel at home at Rye House, which I never did at Foxhall from 1975 to 1980 and then from 1983 to April 1985.)
  20. Well, I'm not, according to some jaundiced, stuck in the past, one eyed Dennis Sigalos fans - just putting it out there like..... :-) So plenty of mick and pix please Beer Hut. Banana flavoured as much as possible too, as it counts as one of my five a day in this old befuddled brain. I will, if invited, be joining the Ipswich 2016 BSF Massif on Thursday, as long as I get back from Sheffield on time, as I am heading up there tomorrow for a couple of days, to visit a nephew whose 40th Birthday I missed due to my illness and, a Billy Sanders fan from back in the day that I have not seen since 1987, when I transported my sorry ass off to New Zealand. I have the remnants of a big band set of instruments, which has been decimated by the Suffolk FA Junior Cup Final, where I handed out six vuvuzelas to some nice young men from Northgate High School, including Mr Crapman, who was far from his name as you could possibly be and a future star of ITFC (that's another football reference, sorry Baldy), and a miss-judged visit to the Belstead Arms on Friday where I lost my maracas (some tnuc knicked them (and I know who it was) and my remaining vuvuzelas bit the dust. So I need to replenish to create a 'musical' back straight atmosphere on Thursday. So, similar to Beer Hut, does any one have a request for a musical instrument for me to bring along and for them to 'play' (I.e. make a noise with) for the Weegies match (that's me adopting The Scotsman's position, as he will be notable for his sad absence)? Let me know, otherwise I will see you there on Thursday - and yes, I will be driving 'Lenny' my new SEAT Leon for the first time to Foxhall, having taken him to Hoddesdon on Saturday, where I witnessed the best speedway meeting that I have seen since 1985. I will not bore you - or make you feel jealous, on this Witches match thread but, boy, if Foxhall could serve up a meeting as half as good as the Rye House v Berwick match, then we would all go home very happy and buzzing. See you on Thursday, hopefully - massive hangover from a Wednesday evening, not seen you since 1987 Adam White reunion, and the vagaries of the A1 and A14.
  21. Thought Risager may be on a dodgy wicket after his pre-season recommendation, but it seems that his consistent form and family ties outweighed the chances of the CL coveted but unfortunate Jawa test rider.
  22. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, John, but I would think that after Saturday's meeting against Berwick, that 99.9% of those in attendance would have gone home buzzing, after what was the best speedway meeting that I have been present at since 1985. The odd 0.1% may be you and the fellow you describe as "the Penky suited" one, who I am presuming is Steve Jenson (sorry the 'Penky' reference means nothing to me, John. Peaky Blinders, maybe, but not 'Penky'.), who was in deed unhappy that the Rockets 'only' managed a draw as he is a 100% winner but after a few moments could even see the total benefits of such an entertainment spectacle. As others have said, give Steve and Team BMR another 12 months and let's see if there is any criticism to be offered then. (Congratulations to Team BMR also, for their success at Oulton Park yesterday and Subaru's first ever win in the hands of Colin Turkingon. It is a long time now that I have attended a BTCC meeting, but the association that is growing between Team BMR and the Rye House fans, I can see me attending at least the second Brands round this season and maybe more - clashes with The Rockets fixtures willing, of course. My interest in BTCC - then saloon car racing, goes back to the 70's when Gerry Marshall was driving his Firenza and has helped me chose the road cars I have driven.)
  23. The Witches riders should earn a Bounty full supply of points on Saturday, well, After Eight at least. And we should all remember that the season is a Marathon, not a sprint.
  24. You got it, now learn the words and sing it. Ipswich BSF Massif Got Talent. No, it's "I get knocked down but I get up again". Let me know if they play it please.
  25. What, pik & mix? Even though I won't be there, can I put in a request for banana bits please? Just putting a request together for my latest fans on here, to Kevin Long to play out on Saturday - of course you won't hear it on the back straight, but Su may hear it if she can hear above the din where she watches from...
