Scorpions V Witches 3rd July 2016 Premier League
Reviresco replied to ScunnyDan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
My waist line is growing again, but you probably didn't mean that? No cow bell though as I guess that is still in Glasgow, or a little bit of Glasgow in Surrey? -
IP4 5TL on the Sat Nav. Baldy, be there or be square, man, don't let the trolls and stalkers get you down. Not worth the paper they wipe their arses on buddy. Hope my brother from another mother can make it too, as it would be a good bit of banter with Shads hopefully joining us. Thinking that this could be my last visit to Foxhall this season. Ipswich fans have had to suffer a disjointed start to the season, but Hoddesdon PL visitors now face huge gaps in their home meetings: 25 June v Plymouth followed by 31 July v Somerset and then 17 August v Glasgow.......

Run out of Likes due to all the amusing Witches fans' comments on here and other threads..... Time will tell Beer Hut and I will have a laugh, scarf or no scarf, lol. Thanks buddy, wasn't at either of those matches as wasn't able to drive then for various reasons..... Sounds promising then for a Pinjar Ninja last heat Winna (?!) Cheers Pob, it's Still Rock and Roll To Me buddy. -
As I posted on the Scunthorpe thread, personally an exciting draw would be perfect on Thursday - Thursday? Yes, Thursday, a meeting at Foxhall on a Thursday, whoop de do ooh! I believe that CL has gone into each of the last 5 seasons thinking that he has put a title winning side together with an out and out no, 1, only to be let down by his 1 to 7 with a few exceptions, e.g. Covatti last season. CL's reaction at Hoddesdon in the 2nd leg of the KOC match, said it all to me. He cares but has had enough, imo. It appears from what HKP said in his post, that Ed Nicholls is not taking on the Club next season. If that is the case, where does it leave the Club? NL? EDIT ( due to memory failure, lol): Not many promoter's shout their riders a pre season trip to Italy. Looking back on the photos outside the trattoria nobody surely could have forecast the way this season has gone.

In a way, I am hoping for a draw, with Cam and Eddie getting a 5-1 in heat 15 (and this is from someone who has been a Witches fan from 1972 to 1980 and from 1983 until the night Rye House rode at Foxhall in the KOC this season and in particular the heat when Cam was excluded when he dived inside Lewis Kerr on turn 1.) EDIT: but of course that won't happen as Cam never gets a Heat 15, plus I won't be there by Heat 15 as I would have been ejected from the stadium due to enjoying myself, lol EDIT 2: I'm assuming that Shads and I are welcome to sit with the Ipswich BSF 2016 massif, plus The Scotsman? -

Ipswich riders must have been told /guessed which one of the four consortia bidding to take on the promotion reins in 2017 and that they are therefore not in the 2017 EL team plans. If that is the case, it is quite shocking, not so much from the riders, but the current promotion and title sponsor plus Team Manager. King testing engines again for Revolution, or just holding back before his Big Night Out in Cardiff? Also peed off that his mate Lewi Kerr has been dumped. Covatti levelled off this season, no disrespect, but seems to be focused on 2017 SGP series and must be peed off that Castagna has gone. Barker - you will get what you get and you could lay your mortgage on him .... or could you. Risager - no comment, but anyone who recommends a rider, who is contracted, sight unseen, must have his credibility questioned Sarjeant - I like him, little confidence, you get what you get, another rider who should have improved under the Louis' banner but doesn't appear to have. Reserves: well done lads. JJ is the sort of rider Ipswich should be using (along with Danyon Hune) and OG is what he is. Team Manager: 0/10 Promotion 2/10 Title Sponsor: 3/10 Riders: 5/10 Overall: 2.5/10 - see me, must try harder..... EDIT: PS: apologies Scunthorpe, that my post was totally concentrated on the Witches. Well done to the riders, the crowd, the track man and the promotion. Ryan Douglas: you little beauty, ripper, true oker mate. So pleased for you after last season. Josh Auty: I eat my words as you can get a max without targeting A N Other over your 5 heats. Well done lad, and a bit of class. Keep it going lad. The other 5 = top effort, you should be well pleased. Now if you hadn't of had the early season disruption.....? -
Getting back to the theme of 2017, after the shocking display at the EWR yesterday (it appears to me that the riders have already been told that they are not in the 2017 plans and are riding with that motivation rather than for pride, points and £ sterling. Where is the motivation from the current promotion (hardly an apt word), team manager and title sponsor? Would the Witches have done better with Tungate and Heeps in the line up? Would that have added a bit of oomph to proceedings as the remaining fans support Ipswich contracted riders rather than mercenaries who are here today, gone tomorrow.) A rumour with a bit of foundation, although "HKP" will probably knock it out of the park with his inside knowledge of the Club .... It is believed that a an entertainer with local links is part of one of four consortia interested in taking on the promoting reins at Foxhall Heath. If successful, two would take the Witches into the fixed race night 2017 EL, and the other two would leave them in the PL for at least one season to stabilise the Club. One of the bids could be interested in swapping leagues with another track and one is intent on running a NL team alongside the EL/PL team next season. Nothing earth shattering there, and probably most will guess who, where, when and why, but I have not named any names so should be safe from the Turkish hit squad, "huzur ve sevgi", boys and girls. Looks like Thursday's meeting will go ahead so, knee willing, I will see you there. Shall we do a: "My War Cry is Better than Your War Cry" competition, or similar, or shall we just scare off the zombies with a bit of a back straight BSF Massif party? Blue Balls and Banana Splits the order of the day please Mr and Master Beer Hut. All the best guys, stay safe, well and happy. PS: has anyone seen my cow bell and my maracas?
-
I've heard something similar, three separate interested parties, one very local and with past attachments to Foxhall and two very different parties.
-
Thanks Scotsman. Will be good to see you there. Hope you are well. Agreed totally about the great marketing and presentation by Glasgow. Hopefully, if there is a new promotion at Foxhall next season - as seems v likely apparently (no names mentioned), they will employ a decent marketing / promotion person as part of their "management team" - or whatever it ends up being called.
-
hi guys. Apparently there is a speedway fixture at Foxhall Heath this Thursday? Is that correct or am I imagining it? And it is a local derby against Rye House too, with a couple of ex Ipswich riders in the line up and the league's top rider and best reserve rider in their line up. Should mean a decent turn out and meeting if the weather allows. I see you have been mulling over different scenarios for next and the following seasons. I would've thought that one thing that has come out of this year is that a consistent Thursday night race night is a must. Speedway is more of an habitual sport than many others in my opinion. Can I ask, if you guys, the Ipswich Witches 2016 BSF Massif had three things that they would want to see from your speedway club next season, what would those three things be? I might go for: 1) Regular Weekly Race Nights; 2) Track shape and preparation that allows for close exciting racing; 3) A decent lighting and PA system, combined with fan involvement (maybe a nominated fan sitting on the "board" of the club). Thanks.

Love It. Great banter guys.... Thanks for accepting my messy, just off the airplane, forgot there was a SGP, still partying in Hisoranu, bet R&R and well done & thanks Mr Harris - you have kept me in the Comp in the last two rounds. (If anyone of the 13 remaining wants to put in a protest about my, none to clear, bet, please do so.)

Start my new job on Monday so will be back in more of a routine then and more likely to do regular Thursdays, but not likely before Rockets match. Interesting developments from my trip to Turkey which I will tell you about then - if they haven't already happened, lol -

Excuse me, I took more flak for supporting Baldyman, than he got for his original comments. And look at the reaction I got when I brought my leaving party to the Glasgow meeting.... -

Berwick Vs Ipswich 18th
Reviresco replied to allthegearbutnaeidea's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Bet you didn't sing those first four words in an Elvis like voice down a "borrowed" megaphone did you, Bruv of Bruv? That would drive the Ipswich locals away in their droves... Berwick, and their fans, were mega (phone) at Rye House a couple of weeks ago. Witches ARE a better team than their results, especially at Foxhall, suggest - the inclusion of Barker making them a solid BET for the play-offs - if you were a gambling man..... Pools Panel says = Score Draw. Danyon signed with a view to riding in the Witches 2017 EL side, I guess, as the proposed HL line up will be so strong that a low average British qualified Reserve will be a must have? ("Hubble, Bubble, Toil and Trouble, all the Witches say.....") http://wn.com/hubble,_bubble,_toil_and_trouble A safe and enjoyable meeting wished to all. -
My first year of watching speedway when I went to Romford and in that season had the pleasure of seeing that Witches side that finished 11th, with the Bombers finishing runners up, Just an aside on Danny King's British Final victory, does anyone know if the engine he used was the one that he was criticised for testing in the home match agains Glasgow? Oh, just realised that I am not allowed to post on Ipswich threads anymoRe. ..
-
And sense of humour has disappeared on the Heath and on the Ipswich threads which have been invaded by entities fro a world of sneering, my blue balls are bigger than yours! Oh well, let's hope they don't stalk up on here too now. My last trip to Newcastle was 1987 when I was in the pits fuelling and oiling for Dave Jackson of Mildenhall. After watching the Lambert Express at Hoddesdon last weekend and seeing the Diamonds HL strength first hand, well their top three scorers in that meeting, I can only see a comfortable home win, sorry Witches fans,..

Haven't looked to see how many down, but I make it 13 green bottles left waiting to tumble. Would really like to last longer than Mr Orlov as we have exchanged pleasant posts on the Forum in the part and have commented on Australian native musical instruments on the Swindon threads, lol. Good luck to all that remain and thanks again for running the comp R&R. Much appreciated.

Pardon me for having an opinion then TSO. "Mindless dribble on this and other Threads"? "Mega blubber posts"? I'm sorry, but you've lost me there TSO. Totally lost me? Which posts and threads have I offended your sensibilities with, may I ask? Personally, unless I strongly disagree with a post, or like it and want to support it, or have something to add to a thread I do not post anything. Maybe you should follow the same mantra, just saying? So, where have you popped up from then Windy? I have double standards? Really? Please enlighten me you keyboard warrior. Please do. Maybe if you had bothered to read on, you will have seen the conclusion of my exchange of posts with Lewy? No? No, I didn'the think so, but I won'the expect an apology from a Troll. Hardly worth the time in responding to your vacuous entity you door opening horse rider. Anyway, no need to fret TSO and Windy, for I, like Baldyman will no longer be darkening the Foxhall corridors with my presence as, after the Glasgow match, the amazing response of some spectators (I won't call them fans), the lack of genuine entertainment served up on track, the lack of promotion by the current team, the mind numbing response to my efforts to create an atmosphere, my comparison with Foxhall between 1975 and 1985 and Foxhall today and my investment of many thousands of English Pounds in following the Witches riders collectively and individually from 1970, including sponsoring individual riders between 1976 (Mike Lanham being the first) and until a certain Australian rider, who I am no longer allowed to mention, as I have reached a quota that I was unaware existed, sadly passed away on 23 Apr 1985. Your kind comments have made me realise that it is just not worth the effort and expense I put in anymore. I will therefore be enjoying my speedway where I feel welcome and appreciated, where the atmosphere is very good, where people still seem to care, where the track is well prepared, where customer service is king, where I drive home after a meeting feeling good about the sport still and where I don't get criticised for trying to enjoy myself and for offering my opinions about the sport - yes, macca56 is now going to watch his speedway regularly at Rye House, where I can watch the rider that I part sponsor and where I have also invested some of my money in sponsoring Heats 12 and 14. Paulco it was an honour and a privilege meeting you and your offsider, the amazing Willie, on Thursday. I am glad you enjoyed your trip as I enjoyed both of your company in the bar after and whilst driving you back (the long way, lol) to your hotel. True speedway fans. Good health and good travelling, buddy. Hope to see you again, either at Glasgow of at Hoddesdon. Apologies for the delay in responding to your post. I am guessing that you know who I am, so I am at a disadvantage, but from the tone of your comments and your Prog Rock influenced moniker -I know What I Like in My Bedroom -too, lol, I will send you a PM in a second or too. Thanks for taking the time to post and I hope and trust that you will not fall victim of vicious personal comments that I and others have by no marks on here.
