  1. Thanks TMW and City rebel. Much appreciated. As you say, I meant Yarmouth / Lymington. I like to try and have a trip to the pits after a meeting and have a chat with a couple of the riders, particularly Danyon - usually to check whether he hurt himself after falling in at least one heat (sorry Danyon). So have decided to meet my mate from Swanage in Portsmouth and go that route. Just cuts down any chances of not making it back to the mainland a bit, and if there is any bad luck going it ends up in macca56's direction, lol. Thanks again. Really appreciated by me.
  2. You making the trip tonight Rob? If you are, please pop over and say hello to the Massif, we enjoy having the company of true speedway fans (and The Scotsman, lol) Good Good. I will try and temper my language tonight then, but will not be in a very actif Massif mood I don't think. Need the sun on my back to recharge the solar panels and had a few knocks recently so feel a bit bashed about. Think beerhut will be raising the spirits tonight, especially if he is talking of giving zombies the horn, oh missus..... Baldyman has a flag as well I think. Just need a group identity (similar hats, matching colours for example) and an anthem now. I wonder who won the Facebook competition? Guess Kevin will be back doing the presenting tonight. Another fortnight should have seen the new loudspeakers installed, surely.... Unless Mr Smillie is still sitting on the purse strings of course... And he would take some shifting (I did say shifting didn't I....?)
  3. OK Sue, but if you change your mind and if your youngest wants to come along too. Plenty of time to decide for certain. I was going to volunteer too to do the Updates, but Baldyman will be far less biased and more succinct than me. Would love to do it one day though. Maybe if you have a meeting somewhere not covered regularly. Bandwidth may be an issue though, lol. If we don't see you tonight, hope the recuperation goes well. Shock is a strange old thing. And hope to see you back on the Heath all better sooner rather than later. (If you need any help with anything else at all, day to day stuff, just PM me if you don't have my mobile number.) The Massif look after its own. Never knew that Billy Joel was an amateur meteorologist, lol. Nice to have you back Pob.
  4. Easy win for Rye House with Eddie, Robbo and Cam riding unbeaten....
  5. I was looking at the shorter inward (Swanage to Lymington) but I guess you are leaving yourself into possible problems on the return trip with the last ferry being 21:50 so better to do the extra distance to Portsmouth on the way there and have the better optio on the return. Thanks buddy, much appreciated. PS: looks like there may be two of the Ipswich Witches 2016 BSF Massif there for the Brummies match....
  6. Do you want a lift Sue. Just me in my car tomorrow - well, apart from the French Horn, Double Bass and Harp.... that's two beers in there, plus the fancy dress, blow up zombies, knitting machine, rocket launcher and new mega phone. Plenty of room my dear.... Just let me know. Hope you are ok after the prang?
  7. BWD will fly round Owlerton especially now he has sorted out his gating. Rebels bubble must surely burst sometime, but can see them winning by a couple like they did at Hoddesdon on Sunday.
  8. Hello Sidney, how are you buddy? Enjoying your speedway (well, maybe not the EL match on Monday I guess?) Yes, the little fellow is going good. Fast out of the gate and fairly smooth thereafter. The move to the OTA has done him good. Rohan certainly played his part in bringing the points away from Hoddesdon last Sunday. Am still looking to catch up sometime, somewhere. Am planning to go to the IoW on 23rd and maybe Poole the following day, but with Ipswich at home the following night and Swindon down as Reserved, it looks as if it won't be that week. All the best and enjoy your speedway.
  9. Can we turn your avatar into a flag Baldy and put "Witches Massif" on it, or similar? Then, looking at the image, maybe we should out "Witches Mass Stiff"..... :-) Somerset fans had a humongous confederate flag at Rye on Sunday. You entered the Facebook comp yet to win VIP entry for Thursday?
  10. Great timing thanks, as I am planning on visiting the Island on 23rd to watch Danyon Hume and the rest of the best NL team put together (probably). Will be staying with friends in Swanage and just travelling over for the meeting and back again after the last heat. Any tips on the best method of doing this please, would be gratefully received. Thank you.
  11. Great posts Lion and Dan. Yes, I was at Owlerton on Thursday and as you say, v v close but not quite into the tapes. It was Jason's night and I can't begrudge him that. Think there will be an element of revenge about the Witches on Thursday Dan, but all strong points from you. Lets hope its a close and entertaining meeting. The under strength Massif are waiting to greet you and your team and management.
  12. All gone quiet over here.... Weather forecast on Look East sounded perfect, some overnight rain and then an overcast but dry day with temperatures increasing about 7:45 on the Heath (when Mr Naughty Auty tries to fence Danny King in Heat 1. Apologies Josh, but you have a lot of previous and I still haven't forgiven you for knocking off Rohan Tungate at the EWR last season which led to the re-run and that incident. Lewi Kerr, having left Revolution Team, will be back on GMs and flying again no doubt. The boy deserves a warm welcome as it wasn't his choice to test Jawas this season. Wilko always deserves a special cheer and I have a lot of time for Ryan Douglas. On the Witches front, lets give Danyon a big cheer on his debut as a fully fledged Witch, Danny King for his heroics in the SWC and, the team for their efforts at Owlerton last Thursday, which would have been an away win apart from the stunning return of Jason Garrity - had to laugh when he flew through the tapes in Heat 1 last night, bless him, you could've done that once last Thursday, eh Jason?) Could be another Massif night on the Heath.....
  13. Yep, had a lot of luck recently, but not a lot of it is good. Still, nobody died - unless I catch them. Yes, £200 nicked out of my wallet at Rhinos. Know who did it and Area Manager very understanding, but can't do a thing about it. May need a pick up on Thursday as I may have to sell my car before somebody steals it, lol. Edited to keep om first PL page: Masks
  14. I have a new mega phone and my harmonica is on debut. Bit strapped for cash at the moment having been the victim of internet fraud, theft from my home, losing my job and then having £200 nicked on Thursday. It never rains, etc. We will be men down on Thursday too, wit SB and bruv missing. Scunthorpe's team should give us reason to make noise I reckon.
  15. 'Elf and Stavely' may need to get called in I suppose. Just thought this afternoon that we should adopt a song as our anthem and i think it should be by the trip hop group "Massive (they obviously can't spell) Attack". Now, the only MA song I really know is the theme music to that excellent TV programme, "Luther" starring the always excellent Idris Elba and it is called: "Paradise Circus" - a jaunty little number (not) to scare away knitting zombies - I can just hear it wafting over the Heath at the end of a meeting now (since they seem to have stopped playing "A Walk In the Black Forest" when the crowd leaves.....): https://uk.video.search.yahoo.com/search/video?fr=mcafee&p=massive+attack#id=55&vid=8568f93b1c0f11231b667a863c49fe51&action=view No? Ok, maybe not, what about the band's first single off of their debut album "Blue Lines", "Unfinished Sympathy" (like what they did there: http://www.totallyfuzzy.net/ourtube/massive-attack/unfinished-sympathy-video_592e1c4c4.html
  16. Up the Auntie? Sounds like a Carry On movie, lol. If he doesn't, I have a mega mega mega phone which will knock his socks off from Braintree let alone from the Massif Attack Area of the stadium, lol x 2
  17. A great shame for Danyon the way Heat 15 ended for him. Blown his motor to pieces and wrecked his new race suit. Feel sorry for the lad after his cartwheeling experience at Foxhall, he finds the frame is bent which ruins his return to Rye House then score paid 14 on Wednesday, gets overlooked by Ipswich for their match at Owlerton, then scores 10 from 4 at Belle Vue and is confirmed the Witches No. 7 for the rest of the season. Started the season on 3.79, latest BSPA list shows him on 6.82.
  18. Jealousy rearing its ugly head on the BSF ....? Tuch, tuch. And seeing the Likes, I'd say that is the case. What a shame. We have a bit of fun, enliven meetings, take the mickey out of ourselves, look ridiculous (well, me anyway) and we get criticised. Some people really need to get a life and take a long hard look at themselves in the mirror - if they can see their reflection. I have been very complimentary on here about Berwick fans and the support they give their team, and we get this.... Unnecessary and disappointing. If you don't like what we are doing and how we are doing it, Pee off and stick your head where the sun don't shine and have a good conversation with yourself whilst blowing smoke. Lewy I can accept as he is just a jealous bag of wind, but the others, especially "screm" I am totally disappointed about. " If a man cannot laugh at himself, he can no longer laugh at anyone or anything ". Pathetic really. Never say never and I cannot deny or confirm the facts of the matter. Never a cross word, eh Scotty?
