  1. Somebody that "lewy" has peed off probably. So the list is quite l-o-n-g. As you say, not what a Club like the Devils needs.
  2. A bit like the Panters use their riders ...... before changing them Don't classify myself as a Rockets fan, though I have watched most of their meetings since June, and I am complaining...... Six PL Meetings to fit in (four away) plus the PLKOC Semi-Finals after huge gaps in the Fixture List. Ridiculous and far too much of a drain on my bank balance and driving enjoyment. Cleared a whole heap of PMs so hopefully you can PM me now R&R
  3. So, Rye House now have six meeting to fit in before the deadline, two at home (one already arranged on an off-race night) and four away. Plus the PLKOC Semi Finals against Newcastle This after a period when the Rockets didn't race for what seemed like a month (one home PL meeting between 26 June and 12 August, plus no completed away PL match until 24 June?!). I had intended attending both the Saturday match at home to the Scorpions and the away fixture at the EoES. If these are now arranged mid-week, I can't see my self attending either. OK, only one person, but I am sure that I am not alone in holding the same viewpoint and agree with Gemini's comment that today could have been a bumper attendance at the Showground which will not now be replicated. I for one will think twice before committing to an 180 mile round trip along the A14 and up the A1.
  4. I am following Lucifer Sam and sticking at home. If I hadn't done Birmingham and Sheffield last week and was not going to Peterborough tomorrow, I would have but i am not wanting another disappointment after Thursday. Safe journeys and match to all if it goes ahead.
  5. Thanks buddy. Just started raining in Ipswich so maybe it's missing Hoddesdon. This will be a Call Off at 7:00pm won't it...?
  6. Would be looking to leave at 5pm from Ipswich if it's on, so would appreciate as good weather updates as possible please those Forum Members who are local and / or more savvy with getting the on-line updates than me.
  7. What brother of a speedway rider would agree to hold his wedding during the season. Guess we know who wears the trousers in that relationship then...?
  8. Probably the big black cloud that was hanging over one member of the Rockets septet at Owlerton on Thursday, Shads. Good to see Jack Smith getting a PL run out with the Scorpions and I can see Lewi Kerr, back on GMs, causing problems.
  9. Danyon Hume? He is an Ipswich asset and unless they are riding EL only next season, I can't see them loaning him back to Rye House, Dandelion. I could see the same 1 to 7 as is riding now all being invited back. That is for a Rye House PL side and not for a Lakeside EL side of course ----- Rumour Rumour, lol
  10. Probably still run out though... Thanks for that. Your Post backs up my view that the referee was there for himself and not for the Riders and Fans. Yes, Regs are Regs, but surely this is the entertainment business and not many other entertainment businesses chuck the performers off stage before they have performed....?
  11. Ooooh. I appreciate that you will have seen Romance ride more than I have over the past seasons but I think that is a bit disingenuous SB. I watched him closely during the Aussie season and noted a change in style, approach and confidence which may have been brought on by knowing that he wasn't coming back to the UK to ride on a terrible home track like Foxhall, but a proper speedway track at the OTA. I saw him "live" at Swindon last week when they beat Poole convincingly and he was simply sensational. Also, I saw him "live" when Somerset beat Rye House away and again he was sensational, particularly after a first heat crash when trying to pass Robbo on the outside off turn four. Credit where credit is due. Rohan has been fantastic this season since he has sorted out his machinery and support crew and gave up on riding regularly in Poland.
  12. If it was down to H&S, the sport would be banned, so to pick up on something as pedantic as this is, in my opinion, total horlicks. Fair enough maybe if Howarth had been similarly summarily excluded, but the referee must have missed his incursion onto the infield..... That's me being generous to whomever the referee was last night - they had run out of programmes when I got there and the Speedway Office hadn't thought of taking copies of the score chart, so I don't know who it was,,,, I always enjoy travelling from Ipswich to Sheffield via Perry Barr to watch unnecessarily three rider heats, delays whilst regulations are being discussed, at least two intervals (one for the Ben Fund) and possibly three, and listening to Mud's Tiger Feet over and over again. I was going to the PLRC, but I can't be arsed now. They will probably run out of programmes again.
  13. I notice that Danyon's CMA from 01 September is 7.05. Quite an increase on his starting average. Well done Dan and the great thing is that you are still like a kid in a sweetshop and as pleasant and likeable as you were when you started out in the sport just over 12 months ago. Onward and Upward.
  14. Good summary Cue Ball. I got quite frustrated by last night's meeting. Thought the imposition of Leigh's exclusion was petty - surely a warning would have sufficed, and then Heat 4, again my knowledge of regulations isn't great. I thought the normally quite good announcers were a bit OTT too. Maybe I have just tried to watch too much speedway and been stuck in too many traffic jams lately... I was impressed by Kasper again last night.
  15. This is on my list of meetings to attend too Gemini. I will be the one shouting: "Come On Cameron" at the top of my voice before each of his heats, wearing shorts and a pink top plus my much loved Steinlager baseball cap that I lost and retrieved from the car park at The Abbey last week. If you think you recognise me, please feel free to throw something at me, or simply say "hello macca".
  16. Wasn't reading too much into it NEP , just simply stating the facts and describing Dan's riding style tonight. Still got to be done and he did it in style. As I concluded: Onward and Upward, still a long way to go but for a young English rider who had never seen speedway until he switched codes and threw his leg over a speedway bike just over 12 months ago, not a bad effort and nearly doubling his starting NL average, Dan will do for me thank you.
  17. Congratulations to Danyon Hume on achieving his first full NL 15pt maximum at Perry Barr tonight. Untroubled in all five heats. Classy and fast. So pleased for his Dad too. A Guest booking at No. 1 for Eastbourne at the IoW tomorrow follows. Great stuff Dan. Onward and Upward buddy. If there are enough folk interested, mini bus would be the way to go I guess. Otherwise four in a car. I guess the Supporters Club wouldn't organise something. ...?
  18. Thought Danny King was meant to be guesting for Rye House. Oh well. May go to the IoW tomorrow now instead. ...
  19. Then again, Danyon was in a class of his own tonight and Kelsey didn't really get close. Danyon earning a Guest booking at No. 1 for Eastbourne at the IoW tomorrow too. Well done Danyon. Tonight was the night. Just a shame the Perry Barr bar was shut when you eventually found your van keys.... :-) So pleased for your Dad too.
  20. Danyon Hume, fresh of the back of his first ever 15pt maximum, guesting at No. 1 for Eastbourne
  21. Brilliant. What are the rules on operating Fan Replacement and Guest Fans? I don't like the Tactical Fan Rule though as I don't kike wearing a black and white cap. Makes me look even more like a badger.
  22. Unfortunately, the Danny King connection spoiled that one. Danny making an appearance at Perry Barr tonight, I believe, and the guesting for the Rockets tomorrow night.
