Glyn Picken was scheduled to ride in heat 1 but his throttle stuck open at the tapes and he had to withdraw. So I suppose it was excluded (or whatever it's called these days) for missing the 2 minutes. Rob shuttleworth was scheduled to be the third northside rider but got stuck in traffic en-route.

Hi mimmo, do you mean the first one this year (confusingly called the second) or the actual first one? The actual first northside amateur meeting took place late last year but I don't have those results. The first this year should be on here somewhere, I'll try and find it when I get on the laptop. Can't really help re. Your laptop, I don't know that much about computers and mine was fine when typing these results up (running windows 7). Round 1 of the Northern Open Championship couldn't have got of to a better start at Derwent park last night with victory going to wild card Tamas Sikes who was untroubled throughout. Home favourite Tommy Fenwick was expected to be his biggest challenge but mechanical trouble meant he was ristricted all night. Luke Ruddick also showed some good speed and control but an EF and a fall held his scoring back while Ryan MacDonald continued his early season improvement by making the final. The highlight of the match though was the battles between Dan Phillips and Luke Crang who in 3 races constantly changed positions, passing and re passing both showing great sportsmanship in how they went about it and it was Crang who just got the drop on Phillips in the final to take second. Northside v Berwick this Sunday (28th) will take place prior to the start of the amateur meeting taking place the same day. I'm not 100% sure on the start time but I'd imagine around 12pm. Looking at the other fixtures planned for northside they all seem to coincide with amateur meetings so I'd imagine the plan would be the same, to hold the njl fixture prior to the amateur meeting. Having said that it is a bit of trial and error at the moment so it depends how things pan out, if it turns out better to hold it after the amateurs then it might change. I think I'm right in saying that this is the first time anyone involved in the njl has attempted to organise anything like this so it is a bit of a learning curve. It might not appear to be as professional or organised as the likes of the mdl but it is very much in its infancy. In the meantime I'll see if its possible to post results/information on here for those who are interested.

No northside training on Saturday 27th April due to the first of this years northside amateur meetings the following day.

It did take place but I'm not sure of the scores. Tommy fenwick won 2 heats for workington and Danny Phillips 1 for redcar, I remember that much.

Northside training track has now reopened, complete with air fence, and will be running every Saturday from 12 till 4. Hire bikes available.

Northside are running a training session this SUNDAY (18th) from 12 until 4pm and then again on SATURDAY 1st december 12 until 4pm again. No training Saturday 24th November due to northside's inaugural amateur meeting that day. Facebook "northside Speedway" for more details.

Northside are next running on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th November, from 12pm-4pm, and then every Saturday until early December, when it will close until early February.

In all honesty, I thought the Zielona Góra - Bydgoszcz meeting was all over after the first two heats. A bit disappointed really, I was looking forward to a good, close meeting but it soon became apparent that Bydgoszcz wern't up to the task of beating ZG on there own patch
