  1. I like the way the Polish commentators over emphasis the second b in Harris' name. Bom-ber Harris.
  2. If they can't sell out one GP, why would they host a second?
  3. Two years ago there was a small TV screen in each section of the bottom tier. These were not there this year. I don't know if each event organiser has to pay extra for these items, or if they were removed by the stadium owner, or maybe occupants? Frankly, the "large" screen on turn three was pretty ineffectual, although I thought the PA was excellent and got every race time, except for the two heats that Gollob won towards the end of the meeting.
  4. And what does "drogi" mean - as in "Drogi Bartku!"? I hear the commentators say that a lot.
  5. Who in God's name gets there at 11 o'clock in the morning? I'm not planning on leaving my house til after midday.
  6. Hmm, just noticed that Nicholls isn't even in the GP qualifiers. Given that Tai, Harris, Richardson and (fanfare please) Simon Stead all qualified from their respective rounds, it kind of leaves a bit of a bad taste thinking that a rider who doesn't even want to try and qualify can get a wildcard.
  7. Surely it's Scott Nicholls and Lee Richardson's "turn" to receive wildcards in 2011 (assuming neither qualify by right)?
  8. Bjarne looked very good, as did Kasprazak. Nicky was by far the best rider on show. Adams didn't look as if he had his usual speed and when he missed the start he didn't seem to have any answer. Mads looked awesome in his first ride when he beat Emil, but didn't seem to have anything after that. Stead was, well, steady.
  9. It costs a quid. Be patient with the stewards. Other than that I can't see there being any problems.
  10. Ignoring Rossi, what does a middle to low order Moto GP or World Superbikes rider earn? I presume they only ride in one series? It's interesting that these riders can earn a living from just one competition, whereas speedway riders compete in up to three leagues as well as the SGP. Not so much with Moto GP, as it is the creme de la creme of motorcycle racing, but how does World Superbikes generate the revenue to support the series and all the riders - and why can't SGP do the same?
  11. I agree with this (maybe not the stable GP-rdier bit though!) Getting some new riders in the series is a good step and with Cardiff being the biggest event is was always likely that two Brits would get a wildcard. I guess that either Nichols or Harris will still get a ride at Cardiff by virtue of winning the British Final.
  12. I think Spook's suggestion that they want to ensure the meeting goes ahead is a far more likely explanation for slick tracks. I know for a fact that one major broadcaster in the UK is turned off of speedway because of the risk of rain-offs and having to fill two plus hours of prime time television with repeats.
  13. I think it's actually a very good idea if the right format could be designed. Presumably Australia would have their "home" track somewhere in Europe, which would mean an extra meeting per year in a couple of countries.
  14. Live updates here: http://live.sportowefakty.pl/zuzel1.htm Conditions look, well, dreadful.
  15. Let's be honest, there are only one or two questions you can ask a rider after he's just won a heat - and having to do 25 post-race interviews is always going to get a bit repetative. Personally I think she does a good job - although I'd like to see more of Johno.
  16. I think Stephen Hawking should attend every meeting and run his wheelchair into the shins of any rider who claims they're going to give "110%".
  17. Does this mean Bjerre's total is 15 or 18?
  18. I like option 3 - but rather than a reserve rider, why not have teams put their best rider in this position and then use then tactically throughout the meeting?
