  1. It will be interesting if Peterborough run in the NL and make a decent profit. Why would they want to go back to the Elite?
  2. Some fans will be left with egg on their face if it even transpires which promoter voted in favour of what.
  3. Who knows what is going on with this. I guess at the end of the day Stadia UK run stadiums and if they demolish the old stadium and build commercial and residential property in its place without constructing the new stadium, then they will be losing their core business. If they continue to demolish their stadiums and not replace them, they won't have much of a business left. Of course, there's nothing to stop them selling the houses and re-investing the proceeds into buying more land to build on, but then that would make them property developers.
  4. http://www.fim-live.com/en/ For anyone who's interested, you can vote in three categories for the 2010 FIM World Champions. Darcy Ward is nominated in the "Rookie of the Year" category, there's a Woman of the Year(!) and Tomasz Gollob, as well as Joonas Kylmakorpi, are in the strangely titled "Personality of the Year" category which seems to include almost every two wheeled World Champion in 2010, regardless of actual personality or character.
  5. Interesting. I thought this had already been approved two years ago?
  6. The wildcards have always been used as a quota system to ensure two Brits are in the championship in order to sell tickets to Cardiff. The unusual thing about 2011 is that one of those Brits might actually qualify on merit!
  7. I have a couple of questions: Is the speedway on TV in Poland on a subscription channel or is it free to watch? Do you think having two meetings on TV affects the attendence at the other live meetings? Why is there no team in the largest city in Poland, Warsaw?
  8. If Harris finishes in the top 8 then Kolodziej can have his wildcard. That's a pretty big "if" though!
  9. The best man won. Let's hope he's in the GPs next year - either that or he comes to ride for Swindon!
  10. I thought Leszno might be in trouble when I saw the fixtures, but Hampel and Kolodziej were awesome tonight. Great meeting.
  11. I don't agree with this "trickle down" arguement. The only time speedway receives any kind of national media coverage is during the Cardiff GP. If we didn't have a GP, then there would be no media coverage at all. If promoters cannot take this and built on it, then that's their problem.
  12. I think this is a fair explanation of the difference in figures.
  13. I'm not sure that Hancock and Pedersen will be the wildcard shoe-ins that so many people make them out to be. If BSI want to inject some new bloody into the GPs then this is their ideal opportunity. I'm certain that Britons will get two of the wildcards though, in order to ensure the crowd at Cardiff. Maybe Richardson and Nicholls should get a turn?
  14. Have you been hitting the crack pipe tonight?
  15. Interesting you should say that. I wonder what odds on Gollob retiring from the GPs if he wins this year?
  16. Agreed. He's been by far the best rider on show tonight.
  17. Do they count back or will there be a run off the everyone if they finish on the same points?
