  1. Forget Hans and Batch, this is what Swindon should be puchasing. http://www.uklanddirectory.org.uk/land-for-sale.asp?id=17252 Imagine a purpose built speedway stadium, on the top of the hill next to the old airfield. Perfect. Maybe we should chip in our Christmas money? https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=Badgers+Brook+wroughton&ll=51.513737,-1.794076&spn=0.014502,0.042272&hnear=Badgers+Brook,+Wroughton,+Swindon+SN4+9DG,+United+Kingdom&gl=uk&t=h&z=15
  2. But has any rider actually ever been prevented from earning a living due to the asset system? All I see here are clubs jockeying for position so they receive the most (in Peterborough's case) or pay the least (in Swindon/King's Lynn's case) for the riders they want.
  3. Has any rider ever been prevented from riding by their parent club?
  4. There does seem to be a lack of consistency. Looks as if Batchelor may have talked himself out of a team place in Britain as well.
  5. They'll change the rules again in 2014.
  6. http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.468192293216181.97247.100000762428606&type=1 It looks awesome. I'd love to know how much input Monster Energy had to this. If they had a major hand then they should be given carte blanche to promote their product in the league. This is what speedway in Britain could be.
  7. If not, it will also test the hypothesis that the GP needs a British rider in order to maintain interest in the UK. Interesting times ahead.
  8. Let's hope the European Individual Championship is shown on Eurosport UK. It will be an interesting test to see how many additional viewers speedway will get when shown on a "free" channel.
  9. When a rider "signs" for a club as an asset, what exactly are they signing? You say they are not tidied to am contract, but I'm not so sure. If it did go to court I'm sure the taxman would also be interested in the self-employed status of riders, who are clearly not self-employed and of course should be employees of their respective clubs.
  10. Peterborough declared their 1-7 early last year and were largely slated due to their perceived weakness. Maybe this is why they are now keeping their cards close to their chest?
  11. When I've been to Birmingham their supporters seem to have subtle and dare I even say classy merchandise.
  12. What's the definition of "missing" though? I appreciate you are allowed a guest if the rider has a clash with their PL club, but what if they are injured, otherwise unavailable or are riding overseas - do you get a guest or do you have to use your #8 or a 6pt PL rider? Kennett's Final Averages 2007: 7.11 2008: 7.29 2009: 7.72 2010: 6.63 2011: 7.84 2012: 6.25 I think it's fair to say he the potential to be a point better than is average at the end of last season, even if you ignore 2011.
  13. That would be an interesting signing. Larsen looked good in 2011, but seemed to lose his way last year (like half the Coventry team). I'm sure under the tutelage of sensei Rosco Swindon could get the most out of him.
  14. The big announcement was that the big announcement is tomorrow!
  15. The problem is, where are the goalposts defined? Without a definitive list of the "top 20" riders it is easy to say that someone is out and someone else is in.
  16. If Wolves sign Lindgren and Woffinden then it's mathematically impossible to fit Klindt in at reserve (so they may a well let us have him)
  17. Klindt at reserve would be a trump card IMO.
  18. What average would Ryan Fisher come in on?
  19. I don't think he's referring to on the track.
  20. Planning on a 50 point limit for next season? In other news, I see Rory Schlein has publicly stated he won't be riding for Belle Vue in 2013.
  21. I think I might change my username to The Rory Schlein Fanclub: Schlein (7.33) Stead/Morris (5.78) Zengota (5.57) Janowski (6.18) Kildemand (6.98) Alden/AN Other (4.82) Pavlic (5.11) Total: 41.77 or Schlein (7.33) Stead/AN Other (5.75) Klindt (5.68) Kildemand (6.98) Batchelor (7.94) Alden/AN Other (4.82) Mr 4 Pointer (4.00) Total: 42.5
