  1. Is that not the dictionary definition of a rumour?
  2. Maybe it is not as black or white as that?
  3. You might think that a business (especially one which is struggling) would want to keep it's customers informed?
  4. The other problem with having "protected" riders is that the race format becomes less of a team meeting and more of a series of pairs races, with the same riders racing each other three or even four times per meeting.
  5. Quite! I'll have to start calling it "next season" instead of "next year"!
  6. I love the way that clubs all sign their teams and THEN they are going to decide what the rules for next year will be. How on Earth are they going to avoid conflicts of interest?
  7. This is crucial season for the Elite League. I hope they issue the new heat format and associated rules sooner rather than later and that the rules are unambiguous enough to avoid the usual bending and manipulation.
  8. Swindon is different though, as the stadium owner/developer are also partners in the housing development project. Would you risk tens of millions of pounds worth of profit from housing for a poxy greyhound/speedway stadium?
  9. I imagine there'll be a few late nights at the beginning of March trying to get it sorted!
  10. But that's no different to when Somerset signed him or for riders like Ricky Wells, Doyle and Richie Worrall.
  11. There's nothing in that Adver story other than speculation about the Facebook status.
  12. He didn't say anything about signing. He said: "Big news coming gonna be some upset speedway fans but have to do what's best for myself." As SCB said, Morris posts something vague on Facebook and suddenly people are making up all kinds of conspiracies around it.
  13. But the stadium at Reading wasn't going to be mainly speedway, it was supposed to be a mixed casino and greyhounds/speedway stadium. Stadia UK procrastinated so long that Reading Council granted planning permission to another casino close-by and Stadia U threw in the towel. The land has now been allocated to something else. I can't see any scenario where they would want to build a new stadium in Swindon and potentially jeopardise tens of millions of pounds worth of house sales, which is where the real money is.
  14. I'd have thought he would be a decent bet in the current watered down Elite League. Certainly showed glimpses when he rode at Swindon.
  15. Isn't BSB shown on ITV though, therefore significantly more exposure than speedway gets on Sky Sports?
  16. Pawlicki, Sundstrom, Ulamek, Kenni Larsen, Michael Jepsen Jensen or even Kolodziej. Plenty of choice out there for ambitious teambuilding.
  17. I think the confusion is why a rider like Tobiasz Musielak receives an assessed average of six, whereas Vaclav Milik is a four. Is there a list of all the foreign riders and their assessed averages, or are they simply made up as we go along?
  18. Of course he shouldn't have to pay to get in. I'm just pointing out that his opinion is worth less than mine. £17 less to be precise.
  19. Because if Peter Collins stops going to speedway, it would make no difference what so ever. However, if I stopped going to speedway, a club would be making £17 less every week.
  20. I wonder if he pays to get in to speedway meetings?
  21. Old Man In "I Prefer Old Speedway" Shocker
  22. I doubt Birks would have been considered for the draft. He was a PL #1 last year and has ridden a full season in the EL. The divide between him and some of the draft riders is huge.
  23. Doesn't look as if Birks will be doubling-up though, as he hasn't got a PL place. Signing for BV would rule him out of the PL though, which he might not want to do.
  24. Birks would be the obvious choice, otherwise you're looking at a 5-point PL DUer.
