Same as in 2014 then?
-
Ridiculous idea which will never become legislation.
-
But Nicki and Greg would both want to miss the Thursday and Friday meetings in the run up to the GPs, so I really can't see how the job-share would work, unless you only had one GP rider? Either way, as I said, having watched the GP highlights I can't see how either of them would jeopardise their GP campaign for a few poxy riders in the UK.
-
The thing I don't understand about the "job share" is that surely the riders will all want to miss the same meetings, namely Mondays and in the run-ups to the GPs? So how does having two riders who want to ride in the same meetings and be absent at the same time help anyone?
-
It's funny, I was watching the GP highlights today. There is no way riders like Hancock, Pedersen or even KK are going to jeopardise their GP campaign by riding in England.
-
I'm talking more the cost of competing in World U21s, Euro Pairs etc. I'm sure fans would mind chipping in to help send riders to represent GB. Fans competing in foreign leagues should be at their own expense IMHO.
-
I agree there seems to be a lack of a "bigger picture". Why aren't we spending riders to all these international events in order to gain experience? I'm sure the standard answer would be cost, in which case why not set up some kind of fund (similar to Kickstarter) to allow fans to make a contribution?

Don't get me wrong, if Worrall, Garrity or anyone else is in the top four British riders come World Cup time, then they should absolutely be in the running. But they shouldn't get a place simply for being younger than another better performing rider.
-
The World Cup is not the right place to give young riders "a go". You should field your strongest four. If the likes of Garrity, Newman etc. want experience racing against the best in the world, then let them find a place in the Swedish and Polish leagues, race in World and Team U21s and get their experience the same way young foreign riders do.
-
I disagree. Many F1 drivers would get in the list, as would Colin McRae, Barry Sheen etc. No speedway rider has come anywhere close to the profile of those.
-
Much as I like to blame Poole for everything, even I can't fathom how they are responsible for Swindon's current predicament.
-
But speedway is their job. They have decided that they'd prefer a steady income to chasing international success. Same with the likes of Watt and Schlein who are clearly past their best and how simply want to provide for their families. Seems reasonable to me.
-
T'was merely an illustration of the calibre of rider that is available and now cannot be accommodated. I really am struggling to think of who might be able to fill the #1 slot. I really can't see why Kasprzak would both with Britain, Lindback seems happy with the clubs he's already signed for and to concentrate on qualifying for the GPs. Unless something happens with the rumoured job-sharing - although I can't see how that would work on practice.
-
To what purpose? I would rather have riders committed to Britain and if that means allowing doubling-up/down, then I don't see a problem with this.
-
This is a poor signing IMHO. We need heatleaders. By signing Morris and Howarth we have seriously reduced the pool of riders we can now potentially fit into the top end of the team. For example, if we sign Lindback (7.94), we now can't fit anyone over 6.9, so riders like Janowski (7.50), Sundstrom (7.22) and Piotr Pawlicki (7.32) are all out. If we sign Kasprzak (8.39) it leaves us only 6.45, so all of the above, plus riders like Shamek Pawlicki (6.75), Davey Watt (6.71), Michael Jepsen Jensen (6.52), Kenni Larsen (6.57) and Seb Ulamek (6.60) are all too high. All this talk of Sayfudinov, Hancock and Nicki Pedersen is complete fantasy.
-
At the end of the day, it comes down to money - something we don't have a lot of. If we sign Morris he will surely line-up as the third heat leaders, as we'll only have 14.84 left for a #1, plus a final rider?
-
Do fans really want that? If so, you can't get any more honest than Nicholls. But Swindon "fans" would bitch and moan if we signed him. I fear Swindon fans want a rider who doesn't exist, namely world class, but also committed to Britain.
-
I think any rider we bring in will be foreign and the Elite League will be their fifth or sixth priority.
-
In the past Swindon have generally had a generous owner/promoter and the teams have been put together with a large budget (Adams, Zagar, Richardson, assorted Poles etc). Now it seems money is very tight and the riders are less forthcoming.
-
It looks as if Swindon's Plan A, B and C all involved persuading Kildemand to ride. Personally, I'm not sure why some people are so dead against Miedzinski. He looks like one of the better alternatives. I would much prefer him and Zengota, than say Watt, JK or some of the others
-
Leicester are putting together a tidy looking side.
-
He rode 28 times for Swindon in 2012 when we won the league. He missed the play-off final(s) due to breaking a bone in his neck riding in the PL.

I don't think it was even a case of bending over backwards. Holding banger racing til 1am and then cars being loaded onto trailers until 3am is clearly unacceptable in any reasonable human being's book. As for this petition, the fact that the Supreme Court has rules than Mildenhall couldn't use the fact that the neighbours had come to the nuisance as a defence, suggests it is highly unlikely a law will be passed forcing homeownsers to waive their right to complain about the noise from a nearby venue.
-
You're right, but wasn't it more the case that Mildenhall didn't have any specific noise restrictions in their planning permissions, therefore they had to ensure they were not causing a nuisance due the usual course of their actions? Coupled with the fact that their whole defence seemed to be "we were here first" which the courts roundly rejected. As an outsider, it would seem that an amicable arrangement could have been agreed long before this reached court.
