  1. Presumably clubs have some input into how their fixtures are arranged? So King's Lynn have home four meetings in April, whereas Swindon only have two and KL have four in August whereas Swindon only have two. I assume this is at the request of the KL promotion and explains their lack of meetings in June/July? Swindon also have three home meetings which clash with World Cup fixtures, whereas King's Lynn only have one, although bizarrely it is an England match.
  2. Can you provide one example of where this has happened?
  3. Where do you get "hundreds of thousands" from? I think people are reading too much into this. For me, if VXR can professionally market TeamGB (or whatever they are called) to sponsored and ensure the team is properly funded they have done a good job. The value of test matches in an era when the top riders race in all major leagues seems needless.
  4. Not only will they lose out on bumper Easter crowds, but it will also cause short term cashflow problems. Let's hope for a dry April/May so that meetings can run and as many fixtures as possible can be immediately rearranged.
  5. This is Swindon Speedway: https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/08680346 If you look at the Filing History you can see two entries for "Notification of xxx as a person with significant control". These detail the major shareholders. One is Terry Russell and the other is Downers Management Limited. MrMungo's link is for Downers Management Limited. If you click on People you can see the directors of that company who are Steve Parks, Mike Bowden and Per Axel Warensjo.
  6. Interesting, so Terry and Steve Park are now the owners? Scrap that, seems half is still owned by a company controlled by Bowden, Park and Warensjo.
  7. The stadium supporting 62 jobs and bringing £3.1m to the local economy seems wildly optimistic. Does anyone have a link to the actual report? It does appear to be good news though and reading between the lines the council seem to be lining themselves up to take over the stadium.
  8. Buy this limited edition set of seven Wolverhampton Wolves garden gnomes for just five easy payments of £29.99. Hurry stocks are limited.
  9. Let's be fair. Four titles and six play-off finals in eight seasons is more than a "bit of success". Poole have been head and shoulders the most dominate team in league speedway in recent years.
  10. Unfortunately, we only have other promoters and at least one rider's word against My Pairman's. There is also symantics at play here, there may not be a "GP Rider Rule" but that doesn't mean riders haven't been re-assessed. As I said, it is the lack of transparency which annoys me more than anything. It just seems to often go in Poole's favour.
  11. Is it though? Why are Zagar, Woffinden and P Pawlicki a 9, but Kildemand returns on his old average? Why are the riders above re-assessed but other non-GP riders, who just happened to have sign for Poole, not re-assessed? I agree it sounds like a conspiracy theory, but without any transparency from the BSPA about how rules are applied, I can understand how some fans think it looks like favouritism.
  12. I think this is the bone of contention for most people. It seems like one rule for Poole and another for everyone else. Of course, the main culprit is the lack of transparency and consistency from within the BSPA which doesn't help the feeling that Poole get special treatment.
  13. Matej Zagar claims he has been re-assessed to a 9: http://www.speedwaygp.com/news/article/6430/zagars-british-blow Are you suggesting he is wrong and could have been signed on his 2016 average of 7.48?
  14. How do we know Pawlicki is a 9? As I said, I hate inconsistency, how can Zagar, Woffy and Pawlicki be a 9 and Vaculik be an 8?
  15. Don't get me wrong, I love having a pop at Poole as much as the next guy. I also hate arbitrary re-assessment of averages and inconsistency.
  16. Am I being thick here? Kildemand isn't a GP rider, so why would he be reassessed as a 9?
  17. You have two minutes to do what you like, as long as you remain stride your motorcycle and facing the direction of racing.
  18. Touching the tapes is an exclusion. Not remaining stationary is results in an unsatisfactory start.
  19. My concern is that this in a relatively small development, so they only have to pick some small holes in the local plan in order to support their case. For example, the below link is a document from developers taking part a parish council's local plan in order to get planning permission granted on appeal after it being rejected by the local council: https://www.swindon.gov.uk/downloads/file/1775/hannick_homes_appendix_1 15th October 2015: Rejected: Hannick Homes' bid to build houses off Marlborough Road and Ainscough's plans for Berkeley Farm 14th July 2017: Government ignores local plan to approve 103 Wroughton homes
  20. Does Rugby Borough Council have a local plan and more importantly are they delivering on it? That is effectively what the planning decision will hinge on.
  21. Where does it say that? The only thing I can see if that the riders cannot leave the circuit, which isn't new.
  22. Have Stadia UK screwed up or is this all part of their stalling tactics? If planning permission is refused, this allows Stadia UK to dramatically throw their hands in the air and proclaim "we tried our best". If permission does get granted, what's the betting development gets tied up in "legal wranglings" between Stadia UK and the housing developers.
  23. Interesting, thanks. Strange though, isn't it. You'd think Lakeside would have a licence to print money with their catchment area and being the closest club to central London (well M25 at least). Just goes to show that dropping down isn't the panacea everyone claims though.
