  1. re :lasse, too many injuries i would think, maybe if he steers clear of those he re-appears at somepoint. Like i said the Thomen signing is a surprise, but maybe his average just fit. Wonder whom could be under 6.44 Vissing or some unknown on a 6pt ave?
  2. Glad to see you put your tinny down for a minute, not really up to date with the other teams apart from Glasgow but i think your right they need 2 or 3 to step up to avoid a poor season. They were lucky having Masters & Cook + Pickering latterly, to build around for so long. Makes it so much easier when you have a real #1 to hold the team. But Pullover's signing & the Swede show at least one thing Edinburgh did well, looking for improvers, not just guys who stay the same. Thomson's signing is a bit of a surprise as he hasn't really improved or even looked like he would jump up the avs. But if Paco can finally break the mould i suppose Thomson can too, Lasse got dropped yet never really settled due to constant injuries, mostly not his fault, Thomson doesn't have that excuse.
  3. Watching him continually getting beaten by riders on his inside & outside as he valiantly ploughs a furrow mid track is poor, irrespective of his average. why he lasted whole season & max james wasn't given at least some of the easier reserve rides at least as a trial surprised me, edinurgh are usually more brutal with underperforming riders.
  4. Coles is pretty poor around the Dale so i'd think it's unlikely.
  5. Chronic underachiever, should be 8+ rider but just seems to just coast on the family name rather than putting the graft in to get better.
  6. In the EL Matt Ford's attitude to the rules as if they didn't apply to his team. Here pretty much one guy and his female cheerleader sidekick.
  7. yup edin had same when newcomers came just after back to back titles, expected nothing but wins.
  8. The difference is the West Lothian council actually want speedway, that makes a big difference. plus i think the fate of armadale could have been predicted 4 or 5 years ago so things have happened in background.
  9. Promotion is an expensive business especially in your first 2 or 3 years as you build up your assets, hopefully the brummies promotion was wise enough to budget for that and can survive their first season. Re the support in Birmingham, yes i think there is but the Brummies problem is the stadium. it's a very expensive place to promote and an expensive place to watch with speedway always treated like a 2nd class citizen. The first promotion was bankrolled by the ex-Worky promoter Tony Mole who had very deep pockets.
  10. Poole aint that good IMHO, especially if you soften up Danny King. he's a bit hit n miss under pressure.
  11. If Glasgow don't get 60 then they are going to be disappointed, hope Monarchs up their game and make it competitive. Monarchs TM needs to pull his finger out too after a puzzling performance more than the riders.
  12. Easy win for the Weegies, ominously good team full of improvers who will likely sweep all the trophies this year. Probably the best team since the Monarchs 2014 team in this league. Still i don't think it's all doom n gloom for the Monarchs, still the basis of a competitive team here to get a top 4 place. Too many of the fans on social media losing their chill after 1 defeat Jeez. This Tigers team gonna unleash a few cans o' whoop ass at some tracks this year and 60pts will be the benchmark for Ashfield.
