I would say he used to be in that category…….but definitely not so much these days. -

Can’t see any team other than Poole winning the league this year…..unless there is an unexpected astute signing made somewhere or someone miraculously hits super form. As you say, it’s very tight between the rest. -

Forecast to be between 18 and 20 degrees at 8pm at Ashfield, so we can probably expect a maximum from him tonight. If he doesn’t start to perform soon the frosty receptions he’s likely to get won’t help his set-up problems……lol -

Can’t disagree with this comment. -

That could very well be the final nail in the coffin for any chance of us winning this meeting if Thompson brings his recent form. -

A tough one for sure. Was looking forward to seeing Vuolas around Ashfield but I think we’re still very vulnerable without him. As said, reserve (whoever they are) performances could make the difference. -

Aw, that’s a pity, I was really looking forward to seeing him at Glasgow on Friday. Good luck to him. -

Agree………and another of his problems seems to be the line and speed he’s using at bends 1 and 2….resulting on him tightening up and not getting his wheels in line quickly enough on exiting bend 2 and therefore scrubbing off speed. Also……re. his bike’s speed ……it would be interesting to see Harris have a go on it…… -

Got to agree…..after seeing Borke at Ashfield last season riding the boards I had him pencilled in as a Tiger for this year’s team. I’ve yet to see Starke riding a wide line so he tends to become vulnerable when the dirt moves out. -

It did seem harsh…..but I’ve got to say that he didn’t exactly make an effort to get to the tapes quickly. -

I’m sure they all communicate…..but one rider’s set up won’t necessarily suit others though…….it’s an individual thing to suit style, technique and engine etc. -

Yeah, he’s deemed a hot prospect………..but then again, so was Bickley. I suppose we’ll just have to wait and see but early showings are not brilliant. -
Hope so…..has the ability to be a consistent class act on a bike and is a joy to watch when on song.

Good post Weeyin…….totally agree about the football type attitude of some newby fans……not good for our family sport. -

No real worries about him if and when he gates…….but he ain’t no Basso, Harris or even Vissing when he doesn’t. Have seen him go missing in the big heats on a few occasions too. Like you though, not writing him off at this early stage. -

Championship Predictions 2024
ragdoll64 replied to Bagpuss's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Was it not a case of misunderstanding that he wasn’t resigned? Thought he had initially intimated he wasn’t doing the Championship this year and by the time he decided, Glasgow had made moves. Think he could come back and bite us on the bum when Poole visit. -

Wish we could……….lol A few Pirates’ fans maybe changing their minds about not initially wanting Tom in the side? -

Despite the points scored, there’s absolutely no excuse for giving up at the back when not in a scoring position. We don’t pay good money to see this kind of thing in speedway and he, more than most, has a history of this sort of couldn’t care less attitude. -

Can’t see them being susceptible to home defeats this season….. -

Was Batchelor’s retirement in his last race his usual “can’t be arsed” if he’s not placed or was there a bonafide reason? -
Can I ask what your solution would be if you were in charge?…..not being funny……interested.
