  1. I was actually a bit concerned regarding the crowd levels last night. The area where I stand was certainly more sparse than usual and that's quite near the tapes on the home straight and the back straight didn't look too well populated to me either. I would have expected a failrly large attendance, this being the first Championship meeting and considering the publicity/promotion that would have gone into it. The 50/50 draw is usually a "kind of" indication of attendance figures and the winning amount was lower than usual. I really hope the Promotion haven't shot themselves in the foot by changing to a Saturday night, although I did have my reservations when it was announced. It's early days though, and only time will tell. On a different note........I did miss the "old" Tiger's antics (wonder why he's no longer there as he did such a good job?) and I thought Michael Max was a tad less enthusiastic in getting the crowd going than his "revitalized" performances of last year.
  2. Aye, and the rest of speedway is so squeaky clean................ok for oor team tae break the rules and CHEAT the fans though when it suits. Glad I'm not naieve enough to think that manipulation isnae rife throughout our sport.
  3. Because, despite his performance for Glasgow (whom I support), it is not nice to see riders who have dedicated themselves to British speedway in the past being left on the sidelines due to changes in the rules. It's just like "normal" workers being made redundant......it ain't nice. I feel for every rider who's in this position, especially since there's so much doubling up going on.
  4. Good to see Kevin Wölbert fixed up for the season.
  5. Then "going" too soon.........getting a warning........and having to start all over again......lol
  6. By far I would say. Sissies never pulled up many trees anywhere except at Glasgow and we definitely need riders who can score away from home.
  7. That's a pity Damo. I think Sooty was hoping for a clean "Sweep"..........lol
  8. Ah!.....so he's definitely our #7 then? Thanks for the heads up. Hope he goes well this weekend.
  9. Could that tie in nicely with the practice/training session on Sunday......maybe?
  10. All riders were black back in the day.............before face masks and full face helmets............lol
  11. That's great news. Very glad to hear this.
  12. Aussies have been coming over here to do speedway from day 1 and managed to make it pay when affiliated to just one team and no riding in Europe. I'm not saying this is how it should be.......just that a decent living can still be made riding weekly for just one team.
  13. Well, that'll be that then...........lol
  14. The speed he entered the third bend at Glasgow last night passing Richard Lawson was phenomenal and a sight to behold and done in total control. Breathtaking.
  15. The way I see it is Danny is a pretty good gater and he is fast going into bends........it's half way round and coming out where he loses his speed and momentum due to scrubbing off speed and not getting his wheels in line quickly enough. He maybe needs to sacrifice a wee bit of his ingoing speed and concentrate on his exit. Easy to say, but probably not so easy to do.
  16. You're clearly in your own little bubble regarding this passing thing..........lol
  17. I'm on holiday in Englandshire so couldn't attend the meeting and have been told that my usual linked EL recording may not have picked it up.......so thank you for this R&R......much appreciated. Ps. Do I need a passport to get home from here yet?.....lol
  18. I apologise to everyone for my previous post...........apparently they're only giving Bewley and Etheridge a month now......lol
  19. No they won't......their diehard fans have intimated on here that they'll give Bewley and Etheridge loadsa time to find their feet......lol Aye Right!.......
  20. Been a Tigers fan since 1964 and this whole debacle is truly sickening me. Absolute pettiness FROM BOTH SIDES and it ain't doing Scottish speedway any good whatsoever. Time they all got a grip before it's too late.
  21. Definitely wouldn't want to despite Glasgow looking like they've got the cash to do it. There's very little "Elite" about it in my opinion.
