  1. Average position for the last 11 seasons: Avg. Posn. Seasons Team 2.8 6 King's Lynn 4.4 5 Ipswich 5.0 11 Somerset 5.1 11 Edinburgh 5.3 4 Birmingham 5.5 2 Peterborough 6.0 11 Workington 6.5 11 Sheffield 7.2 11 Rye House 7.2 11 Newcastle 7.5 4 I.o.W 7.8 8 Scunthorpe 8.8 11 Berwick 8.9 10 Redcar 9.0 1 Exeter 9.0 3 Leicester 9.1 11 Glasgow 9.5 2 Reading 10.4 5 Plymouth 11.8 6 Stoke 12.7 7 Newport 13.0 1 Hull 13.7 3 Mildenhall Yes you are correct on all counts. If you have a look you will find that 2005 was the earliest in the paragragh "ARCHIVE OF LINKS FROM THE FOLLOWING BRITISH SPEEDWAY SEASONS:" which I can Web Query in Excel. The other years would require entering manually.
  2. Only because the BSPA website History Archive starts then. Just wanted to get an idea. 10 years isn't too bad a period without making it mammoth task.
  3. Found the spreadsheet and found that the Rebels were more successful. I think that I didn't post it at the time which was going to be in reply to someones post but thought it might have been gloating too much. Will post the results at the earliest opportunity. Updated it to include all clubs, the 2015 season and also work out the average position which gave a very interesting result considering the reactions of supporters of a certain club this year. It goes back to 2005. As I found out, we were top after all. Watch this space.
  4. Will see if I can find it or if I'm really sad, reproduce it. The list is a bit short as there are not that many teams still running consistently in the PL.
  5. Sad to hear. The Beatons were a prominent family when I supported the Bandits in my youth. Sincere condolences to the family and their friends.
  6. I think the result of your ranking algorithm looks pretty good to me. I think you have detailed it before, but could you post it again please? Good to see Paul Starke storming up the rankings and being joined by Rohan Tungate with Charles Wright exiting. I think this seems perfectly reasonable from a form point of view but can't imagine Charles will be far outside the top 20. You never know, Jake Allen may be making an appearance soon!
  7. I did a spreadsheet a while ago ranking teams that have been in the PL since the Rebels joined, totalling their positions and ranking them least total to highest total. Needless to say Edinburgh were at the top with the Rebels next. That included some poor opening seasons, so I think you are spot on. I have to say I didn't expect the team to be as successful this season but quite pleased we are to say the least.
  8. Yes it certainly was. Would like a link if you have one. Should have bought the DVD at the time just for that heat.
  9. Apologies NeP. Should have reviewed your post before replying. So it could be that Tom's increase in average is down to his gating improvement at Peterborough versus his poor gating at Somerset as there wasn't anything wrong with his racing; QED. Hope he carries on where he left off for you. I have to say that I enjoy NBJs racing at the OTA. Seems to enjoy the track and is very entertaining. Provided one of the best heats of racing ever at the OTA with Ed Kennet last year.
  10. I didn't see Cookie getting to his feet after his fall; too busy helping a chap who had been knocked off his feet by the falling panel and then helping with removal of the panel and debris! Now stop arguing. Oops, sorry chaps; already covered correctly by my fellow supporters. Thanks guys. Fortunately I had a 6'6'' giant (I'm only 5'4" btw) to take the blow if necessary but that had already be taken by somebody else who informed me that he had had a pace maker fitted just two weeks earlier. That must have given it a good workout!
  11. The way I saw it, Cookie got well and truly out of shape while under pressure from the Rebels and fell as a result. I thought he was lucky not to fall at the start of the back straight. Pleased he walked away as it looked nasty. Didn't see him though as I was dealing with the panel that came down by the exit! He definitely must have been second hand in his following rides (not taking away anything from Rohan's fine pass of him). The Rebels didn't seem to have much trouble with the conditions so I think the wind is a bit of a red herring. We just were too dominant for the Panthers tonight. Hopefully we will give them a good meeting at the EOS too.
  12. Unfortunately he didn't impress tonight other than his most extraordinary crash in heat 8 where he reared on the outside of bend 2 and literally rode around about 3 or 4 air bags with his front wheel on top of them, most bizarre. Thankfully he walked away unscathed. Only really truly earned 1 point against our no. 7.When he rode for the Rebels we were all willing him to push on after a good debut season but it just didn't happen. As it showed tonight (but I do hope I'm wrong) he has found a level and that is as a PL reserve at best. Hope that is a bit more of a value added post for you Flying Panther!
  13. Rubbish. Perhaps Panthers fans didn't know that he was originally a pants gater. So there you are, valuable information.
  14. Must have improved significantly since his time at Somerset then. Perhaps that is why he's now in the main body now?
  15. Promising local prospect - "you know it makes sense". Good one.
  16. Don't know about Highbridge but you can see what Burnham is like for yourself here.
  17. What? So Plymouth have just signed a National League rider as their number 1 then as Brady rides at reserve for Poole? Charles Wright and Paul Starke from the Rebels would take exception to being called NL riders as would say Richie Worrall and Justin Sedgmen etc. Bit out there I would suggest. Great post. You ought to be a riders manager with that sense.
  18. Easy at Somerset. Cars in the Car Parks/ Fields.
  19. Had a cracking meal in there with the family once and my daughter commented "Why can't this place be my local"? Too right. Another good meeting for Paul at Wolves last night albeit for a poor Leicester side. Long may it continue.
  20. LOL (as I'm on the phone and there's no emotiocons or whatever they're called). Many thanks for the report. Great to see the boys putting on a good show for the home supporters. Not too shabby a result either. Agree with Naj that we have a team full of racers. Makes for great viewing week in, week out. Long may it continue.
