  1. I'll be there with my stomach in knots. This really doesn't do my blood pressure much good. COYR
  2. On a very quick count, only 5 out of 13 managed to end up on more than 3, less if you take previous exposure to PL into consideration. Harldy a great success story.
  3. Many congratulations Glasgow. The hard work has finally been rewarded and justly so for the second placed team in the league. I hear you have signed BWD (NOT, hopefully)! As someone has mentioned "let the silly season begin".
  4. Two top teams desperate to pick up some silverware. How important is this one? Good luck to both teams.
  5. Welcome to the world of Somerset. We've had our fair share of near misses. At least your most recent is by 2 points in a P/O semi. We've had a couple of 1 point misses in finals. Hopefully we'll be lucky this year. Going to be an interesting Sunday/Monday. Good luck to both teams.
  6. But as my boy says, "but you can cover it in glitter".
  7. As in the name of the song title I "Wasn't Expecting That". I really thought that Ipswich had truly hit form big time and that 16 points were there for the taking. It wouldn't have been easy but I believed that it might have been feasible. Didn't even follow the meeting on the updates and was more than pleasantly surprised that we had actually taken the win. I have got to agree with you wholeheartedly CB as we were never considered as a strong team at the start of the season but to get where we are now is just beyond belief. Thankfully we came through the bulk of the season relatively unscathed and have made some astute choices of guests lately. Just one or two final pushes and the history books could need updating. Credit to all the Witches fans who are mostly gracious in defeat. It was really depressing reading the forum in the early half of the season with all the negative comments and pessimism about but what a difference the Massif / a change of reserve / a few months have made. Hopefully the thrashings Ipswich have dealt Somerset with are now things of the past but we'll have to wait for 2017 to see about that.
  8. Even Somerset had healthier crowds in the CL days. As the number of teams diminish so does the variety and the derbies. Workington-less speedway would be trajic. Hope you survive in some shape or form.
  9. We wondered what had gone on. I think he's such an arrogant ar$e. Talk about self destruction!
  10. Win or loose Cliffeboy, we have had one hell of a season. We are one point shy of what Edinburgh did last year and they were awesome. We should be getting used to taking it on the chin (if it happens that is) by now but for me it has been great to watch the original 7 prove all the pundits wrong. Will be going tonight with some degree of pessimism without BWD but you never know. Hopefully we can give the Witches something decent to aim for at Foxhall after tonight. Squeaky bottom time!
  11. Redcar of all teams were pretty good too. However, despite being a Rebels supporter, I fancy Newcastle for the title. They look a pretty solid team to me especially as Lindgren, if my memory serves me correctly, has come good recently.
  12. Taken from the BSPA website: Campbell said: “...Our riders will still want to win races and score points because it’s their wages, but the word is sensible – we can’t give them the momentum and let them get off to a good start. Glasgow boss Stewart Dickson said: “Our riders will still want to win races and score points because it’s their wages, but the word is sensible – we can’t give them the momentum and let them get off to a good start. Now I know you lot are very local but didn't realise so local that your bosses are psychic.
  13. Ed Ling from Taunton has just won the Bronze in the Men's Trap Shooting. Now wouldn't it be good to get him along to the OTA to take some applause.
  14. Left Berwick in 1978. Watched the Bandits in the late 60s with my dad and then as a teenager until I left. Went to watch them against Longeaton while at university 1980 I guestimate. The was the last I saw of the Bandits until 2002. If I remember correctly it was a draw that year and also the next. Hled to polish Roy Williams leathers once. Mostly but not totally!
  15. Looking forward to the highlight of the season for me; my birthplace town and old team versus my new hometown team. Hopefully the Rebels can start off well this week. Couldn't cope with another scare again! No real characters now though without Franc, Rymel, Makovsky etc.
  16. I see Zach was withdrawn at Stoke last night. Damaged his fingers in the front wheel. Hope nothing too serious and he heals quickly.
  17. Certainly did tonight although the Rebels had more than their fair share of misfortune. No doubt about that if all goes well for the Diamonds. They certainly deserved their point tonight. I would say that your top four have a fair shout at the fours after tonight's performance. Robert Lambert is a class act and certainly pushed Josh all the way in the heat Josh beat him. Matej and Ludwig also had their moments and were good backup. With Steve on board too, you have got to rate your chances. You never know but our paths may well cross again.
  18. Well that makes a change; supporters jockeying for the loosing side!
  19. Think you need to check http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=81875&p=2811505
  20. And if you haven't guessed it I was referring to Ipswich who have done well with 3, 7, 2, 3, 7 since they dropped.
