  1. Hardly a can of worms - think you will find most Redcar fans thought the promotion were wrong at postponing so late and a lot of us said so, both on this Forum and our own.
  2. No - 8PM. As others have stated it should have been re-arranged months ago and it's just further confirmation that the club is poorly run.
  3. Rohan has quite a lot of experience riding at STMP so it was always likely to be one of his better away performances. STMP is one of the fairest tracks in the country - very few visiting riders seem to struggle here and that doesn't really help the Bears especially with an under performing home team.
  4. Fully deserved win for a very solid 1 - 7 Witches team. Bears were never really at the races - Konopka had an absolute mare falling off in every race and the usual reliable Jan had his worst meeting of the season. I'd try and convince myself it was an exercise in average lowering but sadly I don't think it was. Still changes are going to have to be made as performances like that at home aren't acceptable. Track was patchy but given the weather that was understandable but it didn't stop a couple of excellent rides and overtakes by Tungate and Heeps in particular.
  5. But you'd never get a Mackem supporting a Geordie team in a million years. Oh, hang on....... (Apologies to my friend Ian but I couldn't resist)
  6. I think any Bears fan would have taken a win over our nearest and dearest over qualifying for the semi's of a competition we wouldn't have made further progress in.
  7. Steve Crams a Mackem though, but apart from that . On a more serious note - never saw this coming at all. Diamonds were obviously weaker at reserve without Schramm and it was Kings first meeting but after the debacle at Somerset I was fearing the worst. Fair play to the lads though they all chipped in - even Skiddy at his least favourite track.
  8. Bears to score more than they did at Somerset (but probably not many). Edit - Mission accomplished after 10 heats
  9. Would be very surprised if Somerset don't break the 60 point barrier tonight. Edit after 4 races - make that 70 points. Edit after 15 races - moral victory
  10. Lindgren either doesn't agree or doesn't believe it looking at Twitter.
  11. I think that is definitely the plus point - might have to suffer a few defeats in the short term particularly away (but then Hall wasn't potentially a great scorer away anyway). Also leaves the door open for further changes when Rafa gets his true average?
  12. Hall been released by the Bears after his suspension - Konopka keeps his place.
  13. Despite the close score not really a very good meeting with decent races few and far between. Track seemed tricky to ride after the rains of last night and today and most of the passing came from riders making mistakes on turn 4. Bears apart from Lawson were too inconsistent although Aaron looked a different rider after swapping bikes half way through the meeting. Probably the last we have seen of Rafal - would like to see him ride for Redcar again at some point. Rebels deserved a point and I'm sure they will feel they should have won if Morris had ridden. Looked a solid team and will be up near the top of the table I'm sure.
  14. I actually thought both Glasgow reserves looked pretty good - and I've definitely seen a lot worse. Piper looked a different rider on Berge's bike but I agree about Lemon , a pale shadow of the rider he was. Good meeting though with some excellent racing from both teams on a smooth track that saw passing both inside and out. Tigers could easily have had a point but the Bears held on for all 3. Nice to see Rafa pick up some points with a good gate and some excellent racing. Not sure how Crang was excluded in Heat 2 when he was clearly bumped on the first bend - a classic case of first bend bunching if ever I saw it. That was one of only 2 falls tonight (just in case anyone's counting )
  15. Seemed a ridiculous amount of re-starts and falls. Was like reading War & Peace following the updates.
  16. Well done to Sheffield - out fought and out gated the Bears all night and deserved the win. All of their riders contributed so fair play to them. Shame to see such a tame surrender from the Bears - Lawson was badly missed, Hall too and Skidmore was a shadow of the rider he has been this season. Can't expect to win with only half a team performing anything like. Track seemed slicker tonight too although there were still a couple of good races with "genuine" overtakes . Concentrate on the league.......
  17. Sheffield must fancy their chances tonight. Bears are significantly weaker without Lawson and Hall and will need everyone to contribute tonight to get a victory. That said so far this year the team has ridden well since the first two dreadful away performances and it would be a shame not to qualify because of an under strength team.
  18. Good effort from the Bears - the loss of Richard Hall round his old track cost us all the points probably. Happy with a point though.
  19. Agree with RR Agree with all of that (well apart from the Wilko bit ). Surprised at how poor Lindgren was - rode like a novice in Heat 11 to let Graversen through. After the poor start to the season the Bears have really picked up - fair play to them.
  20. Keskinen took 3 months to match Rafals score tonight. He gated like Josh Auty with brakes on but looked ok when he got going. I've definitely seen a lot worse.
  21. I am sure the River Tee is as picturesque as the River Twee.
  22. So he is either rubbish or shouldn't be allowed to ride! Welcome to British Speedway Rafal.
