  1. Given that both Jason Garrity and Charles Wright missed meetings at the weekend due to injury plus the fact Danny Ayres may not be back and Ellis Perks will be riding for Rye House I think it's likely to be a patched up Bears team on Thursday. Diamonds should fancy their chances.
  2. Hope all the injured riders are ok. Not having much luck on the injury front this season.
  3. Looking at the updates it would appear a struggle for a lot of the riders just to actually stay on for 4 laps.
  4. Forecast is for rain up until 3 pm. Given the amount of rain we have had the last few days I'd be surprised if it's on.
  5. Sly dig disguised as concern. "Just" my opinion obviously.
  6. Your eye witness account appears to be relying on the interpretation of the ruling by someone who wasn't an eye witness to the events. Not dismissing it because you are a Glasgow fan.
  7. There certainly appears to be plenty of posters posting conspiracy theories from both sides - but that's all they are, theories. If you think the finger is just being pointed at Glasgow then you haven't read all the posts. Maybe somebody closed the blinds so you couldn't see. (This is a light hearted comment as the whole thing is getting frankly ridiculous now and needs to stop)
  8. Richie was helping to fix the fence for a while yes. As were lots of people from Redcar but for a lot longer but you somehow couldn't see that. You posted misinformation and when I called you out you responded with "well that's what it looked like from the pits"
  9. "That's what it looked like from the Pits area" You stated , as fact, that Glasgow personnel were trying to fix the fence when Redcar officials were just standing around. I'm telling you that is not anywhere near the truth and yet some are taking your information as facts, when they are just your opinion . As for the comments about the medics you seem to be questioning their professional integrity.
  10. I can't comment on some of that but the initial part of the statement is totally and utterly incorrect. I went round to watch the air fence and fence behind being repaired and there were 10-15 people frantically working to repair both. Track staff, starting marshall and lots of others from Redcar. Four panels were damaged , three spare panels were available (as per regulations) and the main damage was to the fence behind. There was a stadium announcement for the track electrician to bring his drill to assist with repairs. An additional panel was moved to fill in the gap. Work was being carried out all of the time. Yes Worrall came over and helped for a few minutes at the end but the Glasgow officials spent most of the time chatting with the Ref. Can't comment on the pits comments - but the accusations re the fence are TOTALLY FALSE.
  11. Just read the report on the Tigers website - I was willing to forgive and forget, but they've put "Teeside" instead of "Teesside". Again! Deliberate act of provocation - is there anything in the rule book to say we can appeal? If there isn't can we get the rules changed to say there should be?
  12. It vindicates the fact that Glasgow would almost certainly have won the meeting. Doesn't vindicate the rumour mongering and veiled accusations of some on here (and elsewhere) We need to move on and hopefully when the Tigers come to Redcar again we will have a full team and a bit more luck going for us on track.
  13. Agree with boz - didn't agree with those 2 decisions but Garrity was twitchy at the tapes in his rides. Nationality has nothing to do with it - refs get decisions wrong sometimes. Plus we apparently had a trainee there too last night.
  14. Poorly worded by myself, the accusation is that Coty wasn't recieving treatment whilst the air fence was being repaired, and to quote the Glasgow website "The only thing I would add is the timing of it – the fact that it took 40 minutes to repair the air fence and the rider in question was fine up until then, but the minute the air fence was repaired, he suddenly took not well" I'm not agreeing with what Glasgow say, just trying to clarify what the accusation is.
  15. For balance no-one is actually saying it was a "conspiracy" before the race to get the meeting abandoned. The accusation is that after the 40 minute delay fixing the air fence Coty was getting seen to by the Paramedics. Any update on how Coty is today?
  16. I thought Lawson was at fault and should have been excluded. This is different from saying it was a deliberate act of dangerous riding (as JBA was accused of on the Glasgow v Redcar thread). Not accusing Lawson of "flicking his wheel" or any such thing. It was a racing incident but , in my opinion, Lawson was the cause of the crash.
  17. I think it's fair to say he's taken it "not well" I am sure Kevin Keay will give his side of the story.
  18. Hope Coty is ok - worst looking crash I have seen in a long time, he was catapulted way up into the air and over the safety fence onto the grass behind. Truly shocking to see. Couldn't believe he was excluded as well - Lawson seemed to straighten on the inside of him which resulted in both of them crashing. After seeing Lawson's histrionics when JBA had the temerity to outgate him at Glasgow god knows how he would have reacted had Coty been on the inside of him. Four panels of the air fence were damaged in the crash which lead to a good 40 minute delay as there were only 3 spares and also quite a lot of damage to the wire fence behind. Then when that was fixed it was announced that Coty was still receiving treatment and eventually, with no paramedic cover, the curfew was reached. Can understand Glasgows frustration as they were giving us a good tonking, much faster out of the gate and helped by Garrity not keeping still and going off 15 m in every ride. Lots of accusations from the Glasgow camp that the Bears were deliberately delaying things - Kevin Keay publicly refuted those in the strongest possible terms. Quiet night all round really. https://twitter.com/_tigerslive/status/870370715031265280
  19. Very tough ask for the Bears tonight against a Glasgow team featuring our old top 2 plus old friend RTR. Lunna rides our track well and Bewley seems to be riding well too. Perks is the biggest loss - having to replace him with a NL rider means the likely loss of considerable points scoring, particularly as we are also using R/R for Jonas and Ellis would have taken one of the extra rides. Typical that Perks average will change after tonight and we could have at least got a better quality of replacement Williamson is the best possible stand in for Ayres. Hugely frustrating that we are not able to field a full side against one of the leagues strongest teams but not the Promotions fault.
  20. As a bears fan I'm moaning because we are losing an excellent rider for a meeting and nobody else appears to be (for whatever reason) . Plus there is a chance Ellis won't even get a ride in Germany. Coupled with the fact that he is missing a home meeting against excellent opposition who are at full strength whilst our team is 3 riders down. Apart from that - no complaints
  21. I assume it's a logistical thing, rather than being allowed.
