  1. I know Redcar has a sandy beach but desert is stretching it a bit (plus as we know if you get to Redcar you've gone well past the track). Good news for the Track and promotion though - hope the weather is kind and it's a success.
  2. Amongst all the numerous pages of finger wagging and faux outrage at one person posting the JBA misinformation, this post seems to have been forgotten. Was the "expected" one announced?
  3. One of the next signings will be a new club asset apparently.
  4. Does this mean they have turned ......................to the Dark Side!!
  5. Personally I don't have a problem with it (even though I won't be attending on the 22nd) and they are stating the reasons why they are doing it Any comparisons to the Havelock era are unfair imo.
  6. https://twitter.com/redcarbears/status/938739498430730240 Seems like the Bears line up is pretty much sorted. Cant argue with them being honest as to why the names are to be revealed at the next Social night.
  7. Taken from the Bears website "Keay and Duffill are known to be scouring the globe with a good chance that an established rider, not currently associated with a British club, could shortly be on the way to Teesside." Let the guessing begin...
  8. Barker confirmed as back at Redcar on Bears twitter account.
  9. Bukhave looked a much improved rider on his couple of meetings at Redcar last year so I think most Bears fans would be happy to have him if he could ride at Reserve.
  10. This hasn't aged well given Jack Holder and BWD's absence tonight. Oh sorry they are ill apparently. Redcar found guilty of being too honest.
  11. We already seem to have "consistently applied stupidity" in the sport so at least we are off to a good start (or possibly all 4 back with a warning for Garrity)
  12. Just read that Redcar will be using 6 guests and R/R at Sheffield on Thursday. They had wanted to use Jacob Bukhave as he's a Redcar asset but this has been refused (you cant have riders riding for their own team apparently). I assume the team line up will be similar on Sunday.
  13. I do live in the Borough of Redcar and Cleveland. Correct. Although not many people put much stock in who their "unitary authority" is. Redcar in Yorkshire - the north part of it. As I'm not selling up, it's not grim here, I'm not worried about the house prices.
  14. That parts much easier to sort out - some parts are and some parts aren't. Bit like every large town or city in the UK. Glad to be of help.
  15. Ceremonial County as I said - not covered as part of NYCC which is the map you were referring to. Lots of people still use Cleveland on their address but that doesn't exist any more. Tour of Yorkshire went through Middlesbrough the other year. Redcar has road signs that say "Redcar & Cleveland in the Tees Valley, part of the historic North Riding of Yorkshire". See, perfectly clear Anyway I'm sure everyone is finding this discussion fascinating!
  16. I agree that in the 1960's both Middlesbrough and Redcar were in Yorkshire. In 1968 they both became part of the County Borough of Teesside which was absorbed into the non Metropolitan County of Cleveland in 1974. The county was abolished in 1996 with its boroughs becoming unitary authorities and the Tees re-established as the border between North Yorkshire and County Durham for ceremonial purposes only. If you go on the visit Yorkshire website they are both on there. They may not be covered by NYCC but if you had to put a county on an address you would put North Yorkshire as they are both south of the Tees. Bit of geography there - plus I've managed to reply without resorting to name calling and personal abuse which some on this thread haven't been able to do. Sadly.
  17. Not wanting to get involved in the mud slinging and "my dad's bigger than your Dad" name calling from earlier posts but Redcar/Middlesbrough are definitely both in North Yorkshire. Carry on.....
  18. Isn't Pity Me in County Durham? As usual a right carry on with the "rules" but you can't blame Newcastle for wanting to have a stronger line up than having to use a NL guest for their No. 1. Every club (including Redcar) would have done the same. It is just the lack of clarity that makes the sport look so amateurish. Never expected the Bears to win as too many of our riders struggle to ride Brough (for whatever reason) but at least we were competitive for a change.
  19. R/R stands for rain replacement according to the new rules. Oh hang on, apparently it's changed again.
  20. Busch injured last night and will miss this weekends meetings.
  21. And sent them homewards to think again Well done to the depleted Bears.
