  1. I do live in the Borough of Redcar and Cleveland. Correct. Although not many people put much stock in who their "unitary authority" is. Redcar in Yorkshire - the north part of it. As I'm not selling up, it's not grim here, I'm not worried about the house prices.
  2. That parts much easier to sort out - some parts are and some parts aren't. Bit like every large town or city in the UK. Glad to be of help.
  3. Ceremonial County as I said - not covered as part of NYCC which is the map you were referring to. Lots of people still use Cleveland on their address but that doesn't exist any more. Tour of Yorkshire went through Middlesbrough the other year. Redcar has road signs that say "Redcar & Cleveland in the Tees Valley, part of the historic North Riding of Yorkshire". See, perfectly clear Anyway I'm sure everyone is finding this discussion fascinating!
  4. I agree that in the 1960's both Middlesbrough and Redcar were in Yorkshire. In 1968 they both became part of the County Borough of Teesside which was absorbed into the non Metropolitan County of Cleveland in 1974. The county was abolished in 1996 with its boroughs becoming unitary authorities and the Tees re-established as the border between North Yorkshire and County Durham for ceremonial purposes only. If you go on the visit Yorkshire website they are both on there. They may not be covered by NYCC but if you had to put a county on an address you would put North Yorkshire as they are both south of the Tees. Bit of geography there - plus I've managed to reply without resorting to name calling and personal abuse which some on this thread haven't been able to do. Sadly.
  5. Not wanting to get involved in the mud slinging and "my dad's bigger than your Dad" name calling from earlier posts but Redcar/Middlesbrough are definitely both in North Yorkshire. Carry on.....
  6. Isn't Pity Me in County Durham? As usual a right carry on with the "rules" but you can't blame Newcastle for wanting to have a stronger line up than having to use a NL guest for their No. 1. Every club (including Redcar) would have done the same. It is just the lack of clarity that makes the sport look so amateurish. Never expected the Bears to win as too many of our riders struggle to ride Brough (for whatever reason) but at least we were competitive for a change.
  7. R/R stands for rain replacement according to the new rules. Oh hang on, apparently it's changed again.
  8. Busch injured last night and will miss this weekends meetings.
  9. And sent them homewards to think again Well done to the depleted Bears.
  10. No ostergaard - now r/r. No Danny Ayres due to illness - Mitchell Davey replaces.
  11. Agree with boz - highly enjoyable meeting despite the countless re-starts and re-runs. Much more entertaining than last weeks thrashing of Scunthorpe. Fair result and some excellent races and moves - Starke round the boards and Wrights Heat 13 stand out. Good nights speedway.
  12. Just to muddy the waters further (as to who did/said what & when) this was posted on the Bears Facebook. Wright was examined and given medical clearance by a private doctor on Sunday morning, not by Peterborough medical staff at the track - this option was refused by Peterborough management and told he would be declared unfit. All clear now? Thought not.
  13. As a Bears fan who doesn't think there is a conspiracy (just some decisions that I don't necessarily agree with) this is a pretty depressing thread. Nothing to gain from this constant bringing up of past events. Looking forward to hopefully having a fully fit Tobias Busch this week and having a full 1 - 7 for a few meetings.
  14. I thought it said Busch was hoping to practice next week with the hope of coming back at the end of next week? Wright will only ride if cleared by the paramedic at Peterborough prior to the meeting.
  15. Progress update from Kevin - he's dropped the s from his surname (well not dropped it as it was never there in the first place). He publicly announced weeks ago that he wasn't going ahead with a legal challenge - most of us have moved on from it but some haven't.
  16. Starke (like a lot of riders) always seems to go well at Redcar.
  17. No complaints - even with a fully fit Garrity riding we wouldn't have got much closer. Injuries didn't help but we were already 12 down when they occurred so made a comeback almost impossible. Track was very wet at the start after the downpours and gating was at a premium and boy did the Panthers gate. Wright was apparently knocked out so likely another concussion period out and Danny looked in a lot of pain with his arm(?). Not a good night at the office but the best team won.
  18. Above and beyond the call of duty giving updates on this absolute hammering. Panthers 49 - 31 up after 13. Finest gating display I've seen (since Glasgow visited) Can't provide scorers as I don't fill in a programme. Garcia appearing in just about every heat (seemingly on a Flymo).
  19. 28 - 40 after 11 heats. As if Bears night hadn't been bad enough - both Bears had mechanical issues during the 2 mins in Heat 10 and came out on borrowed bikes. Panthers absolutely flying out of the gate and no stopping them. I'd go home if I wasn't providing a valuable service and might incur the wrath of our Southern viewers
  20. Bad crash in Heat 7 - Bears on a 5-1 going into 3rd bend lap 1, Starke hard under Ayres who lost it and took himself and Wright hard into air fence. Ambulance on track - Wright up and walked slowly to pits, Danny Ayres getting gas and air on track but up. Not Bears night - Panthers winning by 12 (Wright on tactical, not sure he's fit enough to continue ) edit - Wright and Ayres now withdrawn from meeting. Racing not restarted yet.
  21. Apology accepted 8 - 16 after 4. 4 race winners for the Panthers so far.
  22. Normally when there is no texter there are lots of posts on here and on the updates site asking for someone to text. I'm at the meeting - track very wet and a gating competition after 3 heats which the Panthers are winning handsomely so far. 5 - 13 after 3.
  23. Almost every Bears home meeting this season has been covered. So in answer to the original query the answer is probably .
  24. Very tough meeting for the Bears - just about every Panthers rider goes well around the STMP/MPA. Good choice of guest in RTR. Bears will struggle to find a guest who could match a fit Jason Garrity. Should be a very close meeting.
