  1. Agreed - good meeting, some excellent close racing, most Bears riders contributed and Berwick put up a good showing too. Much more solid line up for the Bears - should be competitive at home from now on which is important. Hope Jye isn’t too badly hurt.
  2. Should be a close meeting - Berwick have lots of riders who go well at Redcar and Bears have a drastically changed line up that could take a while to settle in.
  3. Can't say I expected that announcement - the team will certainly have a much different look on Thursday. (Guest/RR, MBA, Berge, JBA, Jorgensen, Stewart,Greaves) The Promotion have at least been very pro-active in trying to turn things round - they definitely deserve a change of luck.
  4. If it is Perks then he's more of a replacement for Busch than Kus surely?
  5. Right move for the club and Matej. I'm sure he will find another club but the time was right for him to go (not sure he should have ever re-signed). Be interesting to see who the replacement is.
  6. Most Redcar fans would have no issues with Kus being replaced I think - he wasn't a popular (re) signing and has been extremely inconsistent and many have lost patience with him. RedcarRacer is one of the few who wants Barker replacing - for all his issues (Barkers not RR's) I think most Redcar fans think he should be kept (injury permitting)
  7. By the sounds of it tonights Bears team could be :-GuestR/RJBA,NL guest replacing JPB replacing Jorgensen,Kus,Greaves,Stewart. Hope the 2 lads aren't too badly hurt.
  8. Boz stole my thunder - utterly ridiculous to claim Redcar deserve bad luck for daring to change a losing team.
  9. In that case the "karma" will surely affect Berwick for daring making a team change (to a winning team too). Or does it only apply to certain teams?
  10. When your luck is out, your luck is out!
  11. Must have ridden over a black cat somewhere (quick someone check the White Knight is ok!) Should Redcar face another fine for putting out an under strength team?
  12. Looking at the other teams in the League I still think the Bears will struggle to get off the bottom but the move definitely strengthens the side. Just need the riders to show a bit more consistency particularly in home matches as constantly losing at home is a big concern. Visiting teams seem to love riding at Redcar so home track advantage is negligible - another reason Redcar will struggle to move much up the table.
  13. I don't think he has been particularly harshly treated by Redcar - changes needed to be made to Redcar's team with the priority trying to win at home and Theo has been the worst performing rider in home meetings. He's not a youngster or a Bears asset so was the obvious first rider to replace. To fit Theo in Berwick have dropped a rider too - it happens! Maybe John will be sticking two fingers up to Berwick.
  14. That's the issue with Kus - fans can understand when riders aren't good enough but you can see they are giving it their all. Kus is so inconsistent and appears to give up so easily its difficult to have him as one of the "heat leaders" in your team. Very frustrating.
  15. Well changes had to be made and whilst he's certainly not alone in being culpable the team needs to be strengthened.
  16. Good point - double the fine! Apparently it's Matej Kus mechanic doing the work - cue the pilot looking down at the engine every 30 seconds if for some strange reason it doesn't take off as quickly as usual.
  17. The Andersen’s were due to fly from Denmark to Stansted, if you read the news there was major disruption to many flights caused by lightning strikes and there was chaos at the airport. On a bank holiday weekend it’s not easy to make alternative arrrangements as flights are always packed. Fining Redcar in these circumstances would be ridiculous - I believe the club private jet was in for servicing so that wasn’t an option.
  18. If this is you being sympathetic I’d hate to see you when you are being totally unreasonable. Actually I think I already have.
  19. Didn’t go tonight so can’t comment on tonight’s performances but I can’t see how , based on their performances this year, Busch and JBA are the backbone of a really good team. Both have been inconsistent at best. JBA seems to have gone backwards imo. Always thought we would struggle away but it’s not acceptable to capitulate so often at home. A team with so many under performing riders on a home track that holds no fear for any opposing rider is a recipe for a very difficult season.
  20. Can't see the Bears being able to live with Morris and Lawson so heats 13 and 15 look tough. The Bears need points contributions from every team member to have a chance of winning this one - looks a tough ask.
  21. So last weeks heat 15 pairing for the Bears are now both reserves - can't believe that has happened often.
  22. Stewart obviously the star man - his visiting Mum must have been very proud of him tonight but some good back up rides by the Danish brothers (particularly enjoyed JBA getting the better of Richie (put that on your facebook)). In terms of racing it was probably the best we've seen for a while with some good tussles and no serious incidents. Tigers would have won with a full strength team no doubt but given how the season has started for the Bears it's hard to begrudge them things going their way for a change.
  23. Do the BSPA recognise Czech rain though - is it on the list of approved weather?
