No one seems to know - what we need is one of the people from "around the country" making enquiries to tell us. -
Redcar v Workington 23/8/18

Well the Comets fan next to me agreed that Proctor had gone down untouched and was very lucky to be in the re-run. We all see things from our own teams perspective but occasionally your own team is in the wrong (whichever team that is). -

Bit of everything in that meeting - some excellent racing, a few falls, some mechanical failures, some interesting refereeing decisions and a last heat decider. Comets fans were complaining that the Heat 8 exclusion of Jensen (which lead to the missing point) was a mistake while , as a Bears fan, I think Proctor was very lucky to be allowed back into Heat 13 (and subsequent 5-1 to the Comets) when he went down untouched on the first turn. Bears were inconsistent as usual - Thomas doesn't seem to be able to recreate his KL form (or his visiting rider form) for the Bears and the Andersons blow hot and cold. Excellent debut for Lunna and Berge looked better tonight despite his fall and mechanical issues. Bewley is a class act and Proctor was good generally (but not in Heat 15 fortunately). -

Well it’s piddling down where I am and forecast up to 7 doesn’t look good. Typical as it’s been dry all day. -

You are obviously hard pressed to come up with anything positive to say. You sound In Creasingly frustrated Nice for the Bears not to be the team getting tonked for a change. -
MBA fell awkwardly on the first bend and had to push his bike off the track so the race wasn't stopped. Ironically Wallinger was more competitive in his later rides than the race he scored his point in, where he was miles behind.
-
Can’t agree that Berge is another Kus. Kus would not have come from the back and got past Proctor like Berge did tonight. Battled hard in his last ride for a point too. Enigmatic - yes. Frustrating - yes. Kus mark II - no. Plus I’ve yet to see him look down at his bike when he’s at the back

Well despite yet another home defeat it was actually a pretty entertaining meeting with some excellent racing. Nip and tuck for most of the meeting until the Witches 5 - 1 in Ht15. Bears just incredibly inconsistent which has been the case all season with always 2 or 3 riders (different riders each week) not contributing. All of them are capable of winning races at home but they are "up and down like a brides nightie" Witches top 5 rode the track very well and were too consistent for the Bears.

Richie is fine with the track - won quite a lot of races there when he remembers which way to turn, it’s just the supporters he has issues with. Its a mutual thing
-
Nice to see a reply that mentions that the Bears actually took part in the meeting. Was beginning to think I’d imagined it
-
Given the comments pre-meeting on here and on the updates site it would appear the supporters of the “once mighty” Witches might want to adjust their expectations down slightly. Nice to see an improved away performance from the Bears - TJ and JBA improving after last weeks home horror show.

From Bears website:- Redcar Ecco Finishing Bears head to Ipswich on Thursday with the news that Tobias Busch has reported ‘sick as he struggles to overcome a fall sustained at Redcar two weeks ago. Kevin Keay reported: “Toby is still having headaches after his heavy fall here and despite riding in Germany he has finally sought medical attention and been advised not to ride.
-
He came back and got injured in his second ride against Scunthorpe. Still suffering from the after effects of that fall apparently.

Redcar v Edinburgh 12/7/18
Yearbyred replied to Mr Blobby's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
As poor as the Bears were, you have to give tremendous credit to an Edinburgh team who were fantastic both out of the gate and from the back. Rode like a dominant home side. Best away performance I've seen in a long time. Worrying times for the Bears - you need to win your home meetings and with an inconsistent team on this track you are not going to win many meetings. Crowd seemed very poor tonight too. -

Well I’m at the meeting now and it’s interval time. I have been advised by Sidewinder that he never thought that the meeting would be close and Edinburgh would win comfortably. Given how we are getting well and truly gubbed, outgated, out fought and thoroughly trounced to date I now agree with him. Stuck my head above the parapet and in the words of Bob Mortimer my nickname should be Snipers Dream! -

Should be a close one - all the Edinburgh riders seem to go well at Redcar.(that's because it' a good, fair racing track with minimal home advantage) In terms of Andersson being a trump card (not to be confused with a Trump card given the presence of the orange bufoon in the Country) the Bears reserves scored paid 27 last week so might not be that much of an advantage. As a Bears fan I'm more worried about our top 3 who were a bit hit and miss last week. -
Bit of a stop start meeting but a much needed win for the Bears against the Scunthorpe select side. The Bears reserves held the key as both Ben and Dimitri didn’t rack up big scores. MBA excellent and Jordan looking much improved from recent performances. Interesting comments from Kevin Keay at the interval - both about the referees report of the track for the 4’s (not complimentary apparently) and about a major announcement that he now couldn’t announce as things had changed?

See all of our friends from the North on Thursday then
