REDCAR V SOMERSET FRIDAY 30TH AUGUST
Yearbyred replied to Norfolk Bear's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Confirmed that Charles suffered concussion and will miss the next 3 Bears meetings under 9 day rule. Bears looking for guests for both legs of the KOC semi finals. Big blow for the Bears, just hope we can get decent guests. -

Such a shame for Charles - would have been hard to bet against him on current form. -
REDCAR V SOMERSET FRIDAY 30TH AUGUST
Yearbyred replied to Norfolk Bear's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
First meeting I've been to in a few weeks - Jordan did struggle in his first 2 rides but after he changed bikes he looked a lot better. Was involved in 2 great races after that - not too concerned about his form. Another rider deserves a mention - Andersen, been a cracking signing. -

Shame that a cracking meeting had the edge taken off it by the injury to Charles. If it is concussion then he will miss the Riders Championship on Sunday, which he must have been one of the favourites for. Hopefully fit for next week - would be such a shame for him to be absent for the KOC semi finals. -
This aged well.

Seems to be at least one on this thread that I can see (it’s not you Boothers!). I’m struggling to see how employing a more local 2 point reserve to replace a rider who is struggling to score any points is one of the great acts of sporting sabotage.

Looks a lot more cloud and showers around than earlier. But it’s very hit and miss.

Couldn’t the Leicester promotion just bring over some supporters from their other team, Sheffield, to boost the crowds?

Redcar v Eastbourne Sunday 4th
Yearbyred replied to Norfolk Bear's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Good win for the Bears - MPT was superb, Riss very good and Wright his usual self. Andersen chips in with useful points and if Jordy hadn’t got injured (hope he’s ok after a very nasty looking crash) might have won by more. Lawson was excellent value for the Eagles and featured in all the best races, Kennett started well but faded and I was impressed with Edwards who won a very good battle with Greaves. -
Glasgow v Redcar CL 2/8/19@19.30
Yearbyred replied to Paulco's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Think most Bears fans would be happy if could replicate the Cup result and come away with a point. Tough meeting though as Glasgow are on good form. -
As a Redcar fan when I booked my tickets for my first British GP with my son I never dreamt that we would be watching one of our own riders. Absolutely bloody magnificent! Go on Charlie Boy, see you in Cardiff.

I enjoyed the meeting too - some excellent races and the patched up Brummies team gave a good show (helps having a couple of ex Bears riding as guests). Paco was very entertaining to watch. Bears look a very solid team now and we have yet to have Riss ride at home. Biggest cheer of the night reserved for Woolley getting his point. Loved seeing the kids having a great time with Smoggy (who always does an excellent job)

Birmingham Brummies 2019
Yearbyred replied to Brummies_Ste's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
No thread for the meeting tonight but you missed a good Brummies performance albeit with a couple of the guests scoring well. Paco was excellent value and very pleased with his wins and Agertoft had one good ride and showed flashes of being a decent prospect. -

Ty Proctor will now guest in place of Adam Ellis, with Ulrich Ostergaard guesting in place of Tero Aarnio. Rider replacement will operate for Ashley Morris. No rain yet but forecast for this afternoon. -
Hard to tell how a lot of the Bears will ride the track as it will be the first time a lot of them will have ridden there in a while or even at all. Losing Charles is a big blow - just hope Allen rides the Brummies track as well as he rides Redcar.

I'll re-phrase that for you - Charles looks to have a bad injury whilst riding for Peterborough tonight and looks unlikely to be fit for Wednesdays meeting. Hope you are fit soon, Charles.

Another mistake on your part - I’ve not edited my profile for years, it’s always said guess. You are just wrong. You are entitled to your opinions but I’m not having you put factually incorrect statements on here. -

Seeing as though you quoted me I can only assume this is a reply to me? If it is it contains a number of errors. As far as I know I don't state "all" as my profile. I have a picture of a Middlesbrough Tiger as my profile pic and tend only to post about Redcar related issues. Don't ever try to hide that Redcar is the team I support. The edit I made to the Riss post was because of poor English and not about the number of meetings Riss wouldn't be available for. Not sure about the "know it all part" - I just stick up for the team I support If I think they are being unfairly criticized or ,in some cases, people are talking cr@p. -

And apparently I was implying things Redcar didn’t make a gaff, they knew the rules and decided it was worth taking looking at the longer term rest of the season. Im still not sure why the Redcar promoters would include the line “ to beat your weakened injury hit team, who, incidentally have been pretty woeful away from home of late.“ as it would surely wind the “Scunny” promotion (and fans) up? Unless of course it’s not real !!! PS - I’d suggest registering on the Bears forum and reading the actual comments from the Bears promoter to see there is no blame laid at anyone’s door for the situation tomorrow. -

Yearbyred replied to ScunnyDan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
It wasn't my opinion - I was reporting what the Redcar promoter posted on the Bears forum "We tried our best to move the fixture but couldn’t" - that is the exact quote. Not blaming Scunthorpe - fair to say I think they would struggle to get favourable result with a full Redcar team out. -

Yearbyred replied to ScunnyDan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Jitendra has put a detailed response on the Bears Forum as to why the decision was made to sign Riss and admits it was a calculated gamble knowing that he would miss 2 home meetings (this week and next week) but that we would have guest facility next Friday. Tried to get the meeting moved but couldn’t reach agreement strangely enough. In the long term it’s a move that gives Redcar a better chance of making the playoffs which is hard to disagree with. The Promotion didn’t have to give a detailed explanation or offer a discount but they have and deserve some credit for that. I would have thought the Scunny fans would welcome not only a much better chance at winning and £2 staying in their pockets (feel free to pay full price). -

Nice gesture form the Promotion to take £2 off adult admission due to the under strength Bears line up. Revenue will already be down as I'm sure the gate will be affected. -

I think Auty, Allen, Ayres and Barker enjoy riding Redcar more than they do Newcastle though. Much less home advantage. Kasper is making his home debut so it’s unfair to expect him to be consistently scoring and he will have to take at least 5 rides. With a full team I’d predict a comfortable home win, with the side riding on Friday Scunthorpe should be picking up 4 league points.
