  1. Tie very much alive after the first leg. Bit like last week and the Bears couldn’t push on and the last 2 drawn heats made the end feel a bit flat at the end. Having said that I would have been happy with 10 points before the start so it shows how your emotions change during a meeting. Bears top 3 very good and flashes from the second strings but not consistent enough. Thought the Diamonds all rode really hard and if they show that level of commitment in their home circuit it could be a very close finish. Need Jordan and Kasper to chip in with some points and I know they both aren’t keen on Brought Park. Some cracking racing in front of an excellent crowd. Thanks to Jake Allen who was a fantastic guest. Set up nicely for the second leg on Sunday (or whenever it’s held).
  2. If only it was enough said! So you have to alter it to make it look like the Bears are super confident of getting through? Think most fair minded folk realise why it was done (to be fair Jitendra has taken the time to explain when he could be falsifying press releases to motivate his team ). Keeping the paying spectators informed -damned if you do and damned if you don't.
  3. Disgraceful - I hope Jitendra uses this as motivation etc etc
  4. Well that forecast was wrong. Rained on and off all night and it’s raining at the moment. Forecast for showers up until lunchtime. Only good thing is that a decision can be made later as fans don’t have as far to travel.
  5. Weather for Sunday certainly doesn't look promising.
  6. He doesn't have a great record at Newcastle (to date) , hence the question.
  7. Listening to the promotion team on BBC Tees last night I got the impression it was Jake Allen for all 3 matches over the weekend. Is that correct?
  8. Perks retired twice when in last place. Not sure how that made much difference to the scores?
  9. Advantage Leicester you'd have to say now after a strange night at the MPA. Bears stormed to an early lead, it was up to 14 points at one stage, but then a lot of shared heats and a Leicester "fight back" due in a large degree to Redcar dropping points from scoring positions (Lawson e/f when second and Greaves spinning off when second). Not much racing as the track was very wet and gating was at a premium. All the Bears chipped in, Lawson was an excellent guest. For the Lions ,Douglas was the expected excellent top man, Nicholls faded after a good start and Mountain rode well after a shaky start. Think the Bears will regret those dropped points but at least they take a lead of some sorts.
  10. Good job that the track isn't in Redcar - it's been steady drizzle all morning after a night of rain.
  11. 2? Only 1 (Lawson for MPT). When Redcar rode against Eastbourne in the league MPT scored a 5 ride maximum and Lawson 12 from 6. Not sure it's an advantage.
  12. Well the forecast has drizzle, on and off, until early afternoon after a fair bit of rain overnight. Even if it stops it's not a very good drying day - no chance of sun or a decent wind. Typical.
  13. Team news confirmed here. Lawson for Toft, Howarth for Worrall. http://www.redcar-speedway.com/2019/10/02/updated-team-news-for-friday/ The back straight will be open for additional spectator space for the next 2 meetings - only other time was for the Fours last year and it give an excellent view of the racing.
  14. Please that both lads are back (even though it could possibly weaken the team given Brocs form recently) because, win or lose, you want as many of the riders who have represented your team through the season to be riding.
  15. Near, far, wherever you are. I believe that the Heats will go on......
  16. I think you are reading far too much into my post. Maybe my fault for not including a
  17. Not forgetting Proctor and Perks being ex Bears and eager to return to the fold (according to my source)
  18. Are you suggesting the Bates family will politely remind these 2 riders of this information prior to the meeting? Maybe if Pickering doesn’t score well Leicester won’t want him? If Broc doesn’t have his work permit sponsored next year, we will now know why!
  19. From the Bears website:- It has also been confirmed that dates have now been set for the KO Cup Final against Newcastle and for the Teesside Silver Helmet. Redcar will stage the 1st leg of the cup final at home on Friday 11th October, with the 2nd leg taking place in Newcastle on Sunday 13th October. Duffill explained, “The Play Off’s must be completed before the KO Cup final, so we race this week against Leicester and then Friday 4th October is reserved for the Play Off final, should we make it. Ideally, I would have liked the 2nd leg of the KO Cup to have been at home, but that wasn’t fair on Newcastle, who are already having to wait 2 weeks for us to finish our Play Off fixtures and originally wanted to race this week. A compromise had to be made somewhere.”
  20. On the train home now with my 12 year old son from our first ever Speedway GP and whilst the racing wasn’t the best it was a fantastic weekend and the Cardiff experience itself was wonderful. Bought my top tier tickets a year ago - less than £50 for two of us, great seats, stadium brilliant, atmosphere fantastic. Didn’t witness the bad behaviour others have mentioned. My 12 year old said it was the best night ever. Enjoyed the fanzone - can’t get as close to the stars in other sports and got loads of freebies, pics, autographs etc. Will be back next year definitely.
  21. I hadn’t realised Newcastle’s possible 1 to 7 was an integral part of Redcar 2019.
  22. Agreed - Leicester picking Lawson being an example.
  23. I'm not sure Summers is a good option given that hes injured.
