  1. Jordan Palin replaces Lawlor apparently. Looking forward to being back at MPA, be interesting to see how the new boys take to the track. Hoping for Charles and Jordan to blow the early season cobwebs away. Monarchs have a few riders who ride the track well so should be a close meeting.
  2. No, you are entitled to your opinion. You were pointing out the possible risks, I was pointing out the possible benefits.
  3. That’s why I used the words “could “ and “potentially”. Easy to see the negatives in anything. I did let my son watch the last heat last night so I’ll be sending Edinburgh extra money to compensate for their loss
  4. You can, but normally that’s to get around paying full price ( not that I’d know obviously......) Think we are getting away from the point, that streaming could be a way of clubs getting more revenue. Yes it has issues but anything that potentially brings more money into any club is worth looking at.
  5. Of course it’s a limited market, I certainly wouldn’t suggest it’s competing with all the other streaming services above. But if clubs can get in extra revenue in these difficult times then I can’t see why people are against it? I’m sure Edinburgh are grateful for the extra monies last night.
  6. As a supporter who rarely goes to away meetings this would work for me and I’d certainly be happy to pay for Bears away matches. If Edinburgh can do it then other clubs can too.
  7. It’s a home team stream, don’t expect impartiality and like I said I thought it was very fair. I wish more clubs would follow Edinburgh’s example, certainly for away fans.
  8. Well I thoroughly enjoyed watching the stream, obviously helped by the fact by the Bears getting a draw. For the Bears - Allen and MPT excellent. Rowe, Sarjeant and Jenkins rode well and picked up good points. Charles Wright and particularly Jordan looked off the pace but plenty of time to come good. If you’d told me before the meeting that Wright and Stewart would score a combined 8 points I’d have said the Bears would be on the end of a drubbing. For the Monarchs - Masters as good as expected, Pickering excellent too. The Bears fans least favourite Worrall started the meeting superbly but faded towards the end. Plenty of promise from Thomsen too. Some cracking races - quite a few passes including a lovely outside swoop by Allen on Masters. Hats off to the Monarchs for the stream - picture quality was great, commentary was obviously favoured towards the home team (as you would expect) but very fair and overall excellent value. Nearly 200 watching so I hope it made it worthwhile. Good nights entertainment.
  9. Waiting to see if the weather holds (fingers crossed the forecast looks ok at the moment) before I purchase the stream. Well done to Edinburgh for providing this service, hopefully a few other teams will follow (if it's financially viable,of course). Not sure what to expect as it's early season although quite a few of the Bears will have had a few matches under their belts. Entertaining and safe meeting is the main thing, although some points for the Bears would be welcome. Looking forward to it and Sunday too.
  10. Well as a neutral I enjoyed it. Easy to criticise bits and pieces of the presentation but nice to see a competitive meeting with a crowd in.
  11. Thanks to you and Paddy Power - I now own two shirts. Cheers Very happy with the signing. Has always been a great and very entertaining guest for the Bears and gives the team a good balance.
  12. Well you were half right (for now) Sarjeant announced.
  13. 6th signing announced this evening at 7:30 on Bears Facebook apparently.
  14. Well I’ve just watched the semi final that Kyle Bickley won and it was one of the best 71st or 72nd heats I’ve seen in a while. Well done to all concerned.
  15. There is a live stream tomorrow if anyone wants to watch. http://ow.ly/qT6l50EpBLG
  16. Gating Tarts? (Sorry Matej, couldn’t resist)
  17. Redcar have been unlucky with the Riss situation and it’s definitely a big signing for the Brummies. Hopefully something positive happens for the Redcar promotion as they certainly deserve some good fortune as they do things the right way in general.
  18. “Duffill also confirmed that discussions are ongoing with another British rider who is hoped will start as the Bears 3rd heat leader.” Narrows the field down a bit.
  19. To be expected, never thought we would see Speedway this summer to be honest. Could do without the opinions of the infectious disease experts on here too - enough of them on every other forum you go on.
  20. That was a great watch, thanks for posting. Some cracking racing and fantastic to hear Bernard Gent again "That's 5 more lovely points to yourTiger boys"
  21. Some speedway to watch today if any Glasgow fans are interested. https://www.facebook.com/redcarbears.speedway/videos/671976743604279/?vh=e&d=n
  22. What are the “unforeseen circumstances” that means you replace a team manager before the season starts? Not that the season will be starting any time soon.
  23. Very good signing. Been impressed every time I’ve seen him ride.
  24. Bears have a race night arranged for Saturday when they will announce the name of a new Promoter. No clue if it's a new addition or a replacement for one of the existing Promoters. Edit - Now informed it's an additional Promoter. I've put a pound on it being Jason Pipe......
