  1. They do, particularly around Redcar. Depends what version of Anderson turns up but he is obviously capable of a good score. Think a lot will depend on the performance of the second strings and reserves - if Roynon and Andersen can pick up points and if Jenkins/Edwards can take more points than Gilkes (who is another one who scored well in U19 fixtures here) the Bears should get a narrow victory. Weather seems set fair, blue skies and sunshine but it's going to a cold evening. Hope it's a good meeting for those who are watching the stream tonight.
  2. Harris scores double figures most times he visits Redcar, so is almost certainly a significant upgrade on Kennett. Lawson would have been a good choice too. Most teams would be weakened without their No.1, not the case for Plymouth in this meeting. MPT has shown good form on tracks he likes (Peterborough, Belle Vue) already this season so I expect him to score well too. Hope the track dries out in time, horrible weather the last couple of days.
  3. I’m pretty sure MPT and Barker will contribute more than the 8 between them they scored last night.
  4. Harris guesting for Kennett strengthens Plymouth. Pretty sure the Gladiators will fancy their chances, with both MPT and Barker being ex Bears heatleaders, Harris always scores well here and Gilkes likes the track. Expecting a close meeting.
  5. Think this thread was better when no one had replied and just liked the original comment. Dragging up old disputes seems pointless.
  6. I actually think a lot of teams will score 40 plus at Redcar. Most visiting teams will be a lot stronger than the Diamonds and most teams go well here.
  7. Strange that all the negatives were Redcar related ……Oh well. I would have thought the “obvious” should be more of a concern to Diamonds supporters.
  8. Even if that’s the case to deliberately ride through 2 riders shaking hands and knock one of them off is pathetic and dangerous. Wasn’t close enough in the actual race to do anything as stupid fortunately. Like Boz said hard to judge after 1 meeting, all the Bears had at least 1 paid win but will face much stronger opposition. Bears top 3 were a class apart and the rest of the team solid. A few Diamonds showed glimpses and Complin deserved more for his efforts but as a team they were constantly outgated. Congreave looked ok but was poor out of the starts and made it impossible for himself on his first visit to the track. Think they will struggle away from Brough Park.
  9. Weather looks set fair for the first match at the newly named Ecco Arena. Not sure what to expect in terms of result with a few new faces for both teams, just hoping for a good safe meeting and a decent crowd.
  10. Been quiet on the Bears thread for a while, first meeting in a few days time against the Diamonds but some news today of a new signing. Redcar Speedway is delighted to reveal a new deal has been reached with Medics UK which allows an additional ambulance to attend all meetings at The ECCO Arena in 2022. A second ambulance should see an end to the majority of long delays caused by riders needing medical treatment.
  11. Sounds like a great idea to me. Very rarely travel to away tracks but will certainly watch Bears away fixtures if they are shown. Hopefully it’s a success and brings in extra funds for all clubs.
  12. Nice, well balanced team. I think they look one of the stronger teams in the league. Good job by the new promotion.
  13. Don’t say that, some people are welcome to leave.....
  14. No it’s open to anyone, from anywhere, to talk about Redcar speedway. Not that difficult to understand really.
  15. Exactly, take the disagreement somewhere else, got nothing to do with Redcar Speedway.
  16. Team looks good, but not a league winning team unless the second strings and reserves up their averages significantly, in my opinion. The fact we also don’t have a massive home track advantage, most visiting riders love coming to Redcar, makes it difficult also. But we will see some good speedway at least.
  17. Yes, announced a while ago. Comments re the weakness of the reserves are fair but both are young lads who are likely to improve and that’s part of the joy of speedway, watching young lads get better. Doesn’t look like a top of the table team, but certainly not weak if they all ride to their potential.
  18. Right having had time to think about the team, I expected 5 of the 7. Riss will hopefully have a better year back at Redcar and Kerr was a no brainer after the way he rode for us last year. Pleased to see Kasper back, excellent around Redcar and seems to be improving. Edwards, like I said on the earlier post, impressed me on his visits in the U21 and Julie Lewis meeting and will hopefully up his average. Surprise is Roynon, can be good on his day but always a worry about his style and ability to stay fit. We shall see. Should be competitive at home, not sure we will be one of the strongest teams on the road but a solid team that will entertain us I’m sure.
  19. First rider announced as Jason Edwards. Unexpected, but impressed last year on his rides around the MPA, particularly in the U21 meeting. Roynon (surprising) and Kasper Andersen the next two. Kerr and Riss the last 2.
  20. I knew you would be “in the know” Hopefully you are right.
  21. So it’s the Redcar team reveal tonight. Do we expect any surprise names? Top 3 seemed pretty nailed on but then rumours of TJ. Who will be second reserve? Will Jordan Stewart be back?
