  1. Edwards still out so R/R confirmed on Redcar press release. Need Spud to have a decent to keep it close I think.
  2. The second meeting between these 2 in the last few weeks (if the weather holds). Edinburgh press release says that Erik Riss makes his return but then just read on Eriks FB page that he just discovered he tore his ACL and needs to get that fixed so I assume its a guest (not many choices) and possible R/R for Jason Edwards. Not ideal for the Bears.
  3. Summers confirmed as guest. Last time I checked the weather forecast didn’t look too promising?
  4. He is, and was very good tonight. The post I quoted said it strengthened the Bears a good bit and my point was it didn’t - more like for like in my opinion having watched Riss a lot around Redcar. Excellent team performance, probably the best of the season. Charlie back to much better form and the 2 reserves scored really well. Kyle was really good tonight. The change in line up helped the Bears tonight. Sam had a really poor night by his high standards and it was only the ever entertaining Pickering who was consistent for the Monarchs. Another KO cup final. Bears will be underdogs obviously but a good achievement just to get there.
  5. Riss is excellent around Redcar when fit, so although Lawson is a good guest I don’t think it strengthens us. Hopefully Charles and Jordan are fit enough to race and not just ride.
  6. Could easily say that about most Bears home performances this season, so it applies to both teams I think.
  7. Bears press release says Charles and Jordan will decide if they are fit enough to ride and if not it’ll be a guest for Charles and R/R for Jordan.
  8. Yes but WhAtS iN ThE PiEs……!!!! They know we are on to them!
  9. From Bears press release Redcar bring in the in-form Richard Lawson at number 3 whilst Jordan Jenkins will make a late decision about his availability due to his ongoing abdominal muscle injury. The Bears have lined up Henry Atkins as a guest if Jenkins is unavailable Jenkins making the decision if he’s fit enough. Some frankly ridiculous posts on this thread.
  10. Charles Wright hurt and withdrawn tonight for Belle Vue. Hope he’s ok for tomorrow (assuming the Bears management don’t force him to ride of course)
  11. Same amount of track grading as we get every week. The first track grade was a heat earlier than usual, definitely due to Lewi having 2 on the trot. The meeting was still over in good time, well less than 2 hours, and yes it could be over quicker if no grading was done but would be at the detriment of the racing.
  12. I think you need to watch Heat 13 if you think Lawson gifted Redcar two 5-1’s.
  13. Sounds like both teams might be scrambling around for guests tomorrow. Douglas will be difficult to replace if he can’t ride.
  14. Bit harsh on Kerr there, he couldn’t have ridden much closer to the kerb than he did in the first running of the final. Just a very tight first corner, as you’d expect in a final. Well done to Sam, he’s a class act and well some to Lewi on another good showing.
  15. Yes it’s too long, but we had 3 lengthy stoppages after crashes, ambulance out a few times and that added a lot of time to the meeting. Even with all the grading, meetings usually are done well within 2 hours at Redcar. If you want a decent track throughout the meeting you have to work on it. Unfair criticism in my opinion.
  16. To be fair, they do the same amount of track grading every meeting, don’t think it was tactical, but I get your point.
  17. Well done to the Tigers on a hard earned victory. Obviously gutted as a Bears fan and thought a draw would have been a fair result but not to be. Was a bit worried when I saw Lewis off one in Heat 15 and my fears proved correct. Hope Cook is ok after his horrible looking crash, Charles picked up drive and left him nowhere to go. Fair play to Tom Brennan and a brilliant choice of guest in Spud. Was a great servant to the Bears and a big loss to British speedway when he goes home. Charles and Jason picked a bad night to have their worst nights of the season and King did ok but he’s no Erik Riss (awaits 12 pages of Poole fans replies ) but what a night for Jordan Jenkins, simply fantastic. Despite losing it was cracking entertainment - bit of everything, good racing, bit of controversy (all 4 back anyone?), lead changes and a last heat decider. We may not have the strongest team but you get to entertained at Redcar.
  18. Andersen says he’s fit, so will ride. See how that goes.
  19. According to Bears press release Basso is out so R/R for him, Summers guesting for Ulrich and Cook back. Kasper no broken bones but late fitness test.
  20. Danny King guesting for Riss. Nothing official on Kasper yet.
  21. Strange meeting I thought. Never felt the Bears were riding well but ended up only 4 points down. Track obviously very tricky early on with numerous falls and spread out racing. Kerr came good in his last 2 rides and Lawson was a good guest. Best I have seen Castagna ride and Pickering as entertaining as usual.
  22. Never quite sure what Bears team will turn up in these matches - can be quite inconsistent away from home. Will watch on the excellent stream that Edinburgh always provide and hope the Bears can keep it close.
  23. Will be closer than it would have been with Bickley riding but r/r won’t be as good as a decent guest, so suspect a comfortable home win.
