The Rye House supporters never attended in sufficient numbers this season to make it viable. To alienate the hammers fans next year by removing any connection with their club, would be a mistake in my opinion. You have to embrace the history of both teams, for this venture to have any chance of success.
I fear you may be right. I think the chances of a new track opening anywhere in the country are slim. The demand for any piece of land in the South East for housing, makes it virtually impossible.
It wouldn't suprise me to see two bigger leagues next year and the NL dumped. It's not really a training league anymore, and some of the teams would be better off running SDL level of racing. The likes of Mildenhall and Kent should be staging a higher level of speedway with their crowd levels.
Eastbourne Dons, that name still makes me shudder. As a lifelong Wimbledon fan, that was a hard pill to swallow. I'm in no doubt that the hammers fans will be feeling the same.
