The bees have already been to Arlington twice this season, so it's hardly a change.

From an economical point of view, Peterborough have to pick Lakeside.

I also went to all of those meetings Eddie, no suprise really. Arena Essex must go down as one of the most maligned tracks in British speedway, a reputation gained by the fenceless track and by casual visitors. Those of us that were purfleet regulars know the truth. Yes it was a dump, but it was also a track that could produce great racing. The last ever meeting was testament to that. Anyone who saw Darcy Ward in full flight around there will know exactly what I mean. I will miss the track, but not the journey. Rye House reopening will not compensate me for the loss of Arena Essex. You will be missed by those that loved you.

I went to stock cars once at the old par moor. I also went four times to the moto parc. What a fantastic venue it was, definitely one of my all time favourites. It was not an easy track to find, tucked away down numerous country lanes.

Might be an idea to take some to Rye tonight! -
Hellingly Lions have connections with Eastbourne Speedway that goes back years. They still have their fixtures advertised in the Eagles programme.

It was the biggest crowd I'd seen at Arena since the Lee Richardson meeting. -
You can defend the promotion as much as you like, but running no home meetings in the peak holiday season is a suicidal business model. No wonder the crowd levels have been poor for last few home matches. With Rye House running a championship double header tonight for only £2 more, that is where my money will be going.

About three times the normal amount. I'd say around the 2000 mark. Pretty good for modern crowd levels. -

Very well said, despite the programme being restricted to one per person, I still managed to blag a few extras. The club missed a trick limiting the print run to a 1000. -
It's going to be a struggle to get both of Saturday's matches run by the 10pm curfew, which appeared for the Coventry match, but disappeared the following week against Kent.

My heart bleeds for them.

I knew simmo well when I worked at Wimbledon. I helped him run the winter training schools at plough lane in the early 1980's. I got quite a few freebies at Crayford when he was team manager of the Kestrels, which was much appreciated at the time!
