  1. It's a shame DP and Northside are both under threat. The coastline opposite the latter is a sight to behold.
  2. Dan Gilkes is gonna be the next big thing of the production line. His last to first at Kent on Monday was sensational, considering the ground he made up.
  3. The awful forecast for Sunday will kill the crowd, even if it's on. The weather was bound to change at some point.
  4. I've decided to go to football on Sunday instead. All the uncertainty with speedway was the deciding factor.
  5. I only went there once. I saw Wimbledon get thrashed on good Friday 1975. Not a bad stadium, but a pretty narrow track.
  6. If it's off on Sunday, I can see another double header looming on the 29th.
  7. The line up always changes on the day.
  8. Maybe Dan Gilkes as a ringer reserve. He was mightily impressive at Central Park last Monday.
  9. I totally agree, it should have been a midday start at Rye. Why make things awkward for riders and fans alike.
  10. It's a shame you didn't consider logistics when arranging Sundays start times.
  11. Well it's on there, maybe Len knows something we don't.
  12. It's provisionally Mildenhall v Kent in the play offs according to the Kings fixture list.
  13. He was also a Wimbledon regular. He lived just down the road in Tooting.
  14. Lucky old you. The thought of seeing Peterborough three more times at the concrete bowl fills me with dread.
  15. There's nothing like a bit of variety to pull the punters in.
  16. Easier said than done. You're gonna need to get jenno off the tractor first!
  17. I asked around, but I don't think that rumour was true.
  18. You have to go to a track on a regular basis to form an unbiased opinion on how good the racing is. I've been to the showground three times this season, and the racing has been crap. Does this make it a poor track, not in my eyes.
  19. Any idea when, it is make your mind up time.
  20. Tell me about it, I've been a regular there since 1972. Hopefully a new broom might change things.
  21. Very well said. After a hard week at work last Friday sort of passed me by. I took a few pics, reminisced in the bar with my mates, and took my place on the back straight. The long delays did take their toll, and I felt tired at the end of the evening. The sad part never hit me until the following night at Rye. It felt like a journey had ended for me, not a new one beginning.
  22. I agree, Coventry could be tricky if you ain't making the starts.
  23. You can't alter the track conditions by grading alone. The whole base at Rye is like concrete, with a loose dressing of shale on top. No doubt they will be working on this to produce a bit more grip before next Sunday.
